With two floors and two bars there is plenty of room for happy hour after work, business lunches, group dinners, and special events. Come enjoy dinner with the family, the big game with friends, or many of Philadelphia's annual promotions.
The menu looked great! And a few of the food runners were nice! But the hostess when we first arrived was kind of rude and seemed very overwhelmed (cursed a couple times right in front of us). I worked in a restaurant for several years so I get the brunch rush, but it definitely wasn't that busy. We were sat in the bar area high tops which was fine! But apparently wasn't fine with the bartender who started yelling in front of us at the hostess for seating his section (I guess he had a bunch of drink tickets and all the bar area high tops). It took him a long time to come over, which was fine we weren't in a rush - but just more worried if he was going to be made when he came over. He was pleasant directly to us during the meal, but started yelling at one of the other servers when they came back for drinks. I got a side with my sandwich that never came out, but honestly was not wanting to ask about it and make him more mad so I left it alone. Probably won't come back here - at least not for brunch, maybe for dinner!
We picked this place after the tattoo convention and this was a great choice. The Philly cheesesteak rolls were DELICIOUS!!! it was so good we got 2 orders of it. LOL I had the short rib taco and that was soooo good. Everyone at dinner loved their meal. I even got dessert and that was great as well. I got the Nutella roll and that was a great balance of sweet and savory. I also had Mrs. Daly for a drink and that was great as well. Overall, this was nice place to eat with a great ambiance and delicious food. Definitely would go back.
Our first time and we will definitely be back. We both had huevos rancheros—delish. We would prefer one fewer tortilla and more beans and corn, but otherwise terrific flavor.
Yes, nice spot with good food. No flexibility with special menus.
This place was great! Really interesting food options, good beer menu, and nice vibe. The staff were attentive and kind.
We ate here prior to a show at the Walnut. They appeared to be short on wait staff. We couldn’t get any attention from the waiter and waited about 40 minutes for our food. When we finally got his attention and told him what time we needed to leave we got a snippy response that we would get our food when it came up. Food was great, but dessert had to be skipped. This was very disappointing and very different from our previous experience here.
We arrived on time for the reservation and had to wait nearly 30 min to be seated. The staff was not apologetic about the excessive wait, nor did they acknowledge it. Once we were seated, it took more than 15 min just to get our drinks. No one returned to take our order after we got our drinks, and eventually we realized we probably weren’t going to be waited on, so we actually had to go up to the bar to get the check. The service was just terrible, which is a shame because I have eaten here in the past and thought the food was good.
Restaurant was very busy and only had 1 bartender to cover all drink orders. We sat at the bar and the glasses were piling up. The bar tender was overwhelmed and could not keep with all the orders. He seemed too inexperienced for a Saturday night. I’ve been here before and this was not a good night the restaurant
A BBQ restaurant that runs out of ribs & BBQ chicken??? Sure it’s a busy Saturday night, but come on! Our server was very good, but it seems like more staff needed as busing & clearing tables took far too long.
We were 5 minutes late for an open table reservation (usually there is a 15 minute grace period with open table) and they gave our table away. It took 45 minutes to get another table and it was in the bar area. We had 2 hours before a show we had to get to thinking it would be plenty of time to eat but service was very slow too. Food finally arrived and we only had 10 minutes to eat before having to rush out to get to the show. We came here to celebrate a birthday, have a nice leisurely dinner but left very disappointed with the whole experience. Will not return. Do not recommend if you have to be somewhere at a certain time
There was some confusion at the hostess stand. We were told we were the first ones of our party to check-in which was inaccurate. We found the rest of our party and were ready to be seated at our reservation time only to be told it would be “a while” for a table. We were able to eat in the bar at a high top. This was fine. The bartender was our waiter. He did a fantastic job considering he was tending the entire bar and waiting the tables in the bar by himself. The food was delicious. With improved communication and additional employees assigned to the bar, this restaurant is sure to become a “five star” restaurant.
Food was good but it was really loud. Wait staff a bit slow, never came to see if we were okay when are meals were arrived. So never got a beer with my ribs disappointed. We would go back food was good
The food was very good. The spice level on the smoked items was just right. The smoked half chicken with the dry rub was tender. Order it with the sauce on the side to dip. The balsamic chicken was tender also. The glaze on that chicken was very smooth ( not spicy ). It enhanced the meat. The cup of chili had a very good spice level. The ala carte side items were a bit over priced.
Cozy, casual and fun atmosphere and great food. We made reservations for 5pm and was a good time to go because it was very crowded by the time we were done. Service was very good.
We really enjoyed Smokin Betty's. Great food and drinks. Great atmosphere and prices. Highly recommended. We will definitely be going back.
My family had a great brunch here on Sunday. Kids’ menu was great. We enjoyed the beer selection and Bloody Marys. We had breakfast burrito, Mary’s breakfast, cheeseburger/ fries and the sausage gravy biscuits. Everything was delicious and service was great.
We were seated immediately, unfortunately it was upstairs. I should have requested the first floor. Service was excellent. Food was delicious.
Ordered lunch special- very good- Porker Burger- perfectly cooked and tasty
Excellent service and food variety. Perfect stop for a pre-theater meal.
Friday night, sat at the bar. Great burger with hand cut sweet potato fries and a couple of micro-brews. Diverse selection on tap. Finished it off with chocolate layer cake. Great meal. Place was hopping and bartender was busy, but still attentive and conversational.
Went for Restaurant Week on my sister's birthday. Neither of us really like that we were right next to other people. and it seemed kind of cramped for us but the food was great and we would definitely go back.
Went here for restaurant week recently with a friend. The Buffalo chicken sandwich has always been a favorite here, but the restaurant week menu was awesome as well and I loved the chicken wings, turkey chili, and the bread pudding. Since we were early for our reservation we were encouraged to sit at the bar which was nice but the area was extremely cramped as if they tried to squeeze too many chairs or tables into the small space. Otherwise, I had an awesome time here and the food and ambiance were excellent.
This was my first and last time visiting this establishment. My friends and I visited this place for restaurant week and since walking in it was a disaster. There is no sense of organization at all. We had a reservation and sat at our table and they had ABSOLUTELY NO WAITERS. The bartender was our waiter, which meant he had to leave the bar when he finally got around to do so and take our order, which also meant everything took forever. The food was horrible. No flavor at all! For this to be during restaurant week and having no additional staff is poor management. Never going back
The food was fantastic and they give you so much . Our server Matt was top notch , really felt like family dinner .
Definitely will be back !!!!!
Good restaurant, service was fast and friendly. Food was so so.
We had dinner at Betty’s for my birthday during Restaurant Week, and got a lot of food for the price. Our server,Seth, was excellent and fast. Also they have a fun beer selection.
We reserved because of Center City restaurant week. We were told dinner began on Saturday at 3:00, so we booked for 3:30. I let the person who called me to confirm that we’d be there for the restaurant week dinner menu. When we got there we ordered from the restaurant week menu. After about 5 minutes someone came to work ur table to inform us that the special menu did not begin until 5pm. The folks at the table next to ours had the same issue. They called and asked about the special menu and were given incorrect information. Although the food was very good, I was disappointed in not having the four course menu as promised.
Terrible service! Arrived at 6:30 for my 6:45 reservation and was seated immediately. After 20 minutes of waiting for a server to acknowledge us, we left. No hello, no water, nothing! The servers proceeded to speak the the tables next to us and completely ignored us.
We had a great meal here before going to the Walnut. The service was excellent.
Some of the food could have been seasoned better. Overall it wasn't bad and our service was great. I would be willing to try other menu options.
We were greeted by a courteous waiter who helped us to a table in a warm area of the restaurant. It was a cold day and we wanted to sit away from any possible drafts from doors or windows. Our waiter was not very friendly, maybe he was having a bad day. That said, the food was great although I was not served what I ordered, I did not mention because my husband had an appointment and we did not have time to wait for a remake. I had the Turkey burger and fries. The burger was delicious and the fries were good but a bit salty for my taste. My husband had the Turkey Reuben without sauerkraut; he enjoyed the sandwich and he loved the salty fries. We would definitely go back for lunch in the future. I would order again what I missed on our first visit.
We had a great lunch, staff was extremely cordial. Had a great hamburger, made with special instructions. Also the chopped southwestern salad was ordered and was easily big enough for two people. Lunch for three was under $45.
Excellent service from Seth are server for the evening food was interesting and there was a wide variety items even for the vegetarians in the group. Only negative was the signature cocktails should be more generous. We will be back!!
Went here on a friend's recommendation; we were looking for a place to go after a show nearby that wasn't too pricey and had options for our 9-year-old, but also had good food and wasn't a chain. We wanted to feel like we were enjoying a nice night out and we weren't disappointed. The short rib tacos were very tender, and two tacos were more than enough. The ribs were great. Fries were hand-cut, thick, crisp & salty. And our daughter's mac & cheese was homemade (not day-glo Kraft powdered goop). Service was OK, but we'll give them a pass since the Eagles were in a playoff while we were there.
Arrived early for our reservation so we sat at a high top at bar. Took a way longer than expected time to even be offered a drink. Bartender wasn't even busy. Not a good 1st impression. The hostess came and sat us then our experience was very good in the dining room. Very Fun place, good food, good waiter. Definitely redeemed the poor bar service.
Really great place to ring in the new year!
Food was very good!! Bit busy upon arrival, but seated immediately. Server seemed a scattered for a bit, but was much better/more attentive after a couple of tables cleared. Overall a great experience!
Great meal and ambiance! The spicy Bloody Mary, BBQ brisket Benny and chimichanga special we’re all awesome!
