Smoked Bar & Grill Ratings and Reviews
We enjoyed our meal, and our waitress Stacy was excellent. The corn fritters were delicious and I highly recommend them. We ate lunch at an off peak time and it wasn’t too busy, there were plenty of empty tables. We were disappointed that someone was sat directly next to us at a connecting booth. It was almost uncomfortable. Overall, we enjoyed our experience and we would eat at Smoked again.
My family had the opportunity to dine at Smoked before a recent Hershey Bears game. Not having been there before, we were unsure what to expect. Smoked was a "hit" by all family members, including a somewhat picky daughter. From a standard cheeseburger to the beef brisket to various mac-n-cheese plates, the food was outstanding. My wife raved about the Buffalo Chicken Mac-n-Cheese, and even more about the chipotle corn side dish. Their craft beer list is great, especially given that Troeg's Brewery is only a few miles away. If you are looking for good BBQ-type food in the Hershey area and a casual atmosphere, I would highly recommend that you check out Smoked.
The food was great, as was the service. However, it was so cold in the corner booth where we were seated, I had to keep my coat on the entire time. Initially we thought it might be a draft from the door, but quickly realized it wasn't, it was a constant air flow from a vent overhead. I would eat here again, but would request not to be seated in the same area.
We made reservation for a Saturday night, area was crowded but wait was brief. Service was quick and attentive. The booth was very cold with A/C blowing our hair which we didn't need at all in December. I asked for it to be turned down but we all ate with our coats on. Food was good with large servings. We would eat here again just not at that booth.
Was more impressed with the Mexican inspired dishes than anything "smoked," which they are not as it's pretty clearly liquid smoke flavored dishes. Had a brisket and wings combo and it was nice to be able to get wings in a combo. The brisket had no smoke ring, but was tender. Sampling the 7 different BBQ sauces was a fun time! The guacamole and fried pickles were great! Others had tacos and loved them. Overall, don't go expecting true smoked food... which is somewhat disappointing and bugged me considering the name of the restaurant. If I take that part out of the equation, overall a very solid restaurant. Would prefer this to a chain that you will find around the area.
We decided to simply go out for dinner on a Friday night, and hadn't visited in a while. Never disappointed by Smoked, from the service through the beer selection and to the actual entrees. A very good value based on the serving size, and magnificent, local quality to boot.
We were camping at Hershey, and looking for a good place to eat. NOt into chains, etc. Saw this place and decided to check it out. We were sooo happy! The food was fantastic, the ambiance was great, and our waiter rocked it! The kids loved him! They kept things moving, so we were in and out. It truly was a great find! Best BBQ ever had!
We were in town visiting Hershey park and decided to try here for dinner. We had a reservation and got seated right away. The place was crowded around 6. We got the guacamole and chips appetizer. That was really good. For dinner my friends tried the brisket and ribs and said they were just okay. The brisket tasted like it had been sitting for a while and wasn't super moist. The ribs were pretty good. I was the only one who really liked my dinner. I got the pulled pork with the baked potato and caesar salad. The salad was decent, but the pulled pork was very tasty, especially with the sauce. The cinnamon butter for the sweet potato was great and their biscuits were delicious. Our waiter was very nice and split the bill three ways which was really nice.
My family of 5 enjoyed lunch here on our way to HersheyPark. The service was very professional, knowledgeable and efficient. We ordered brisket, pulled pork, tacos and kids meal. I think the beef brisket was better than the pork. Portions are generous. We had 2 takeaway boxes with leftovers. They have an extensive list of beers, including choices from local brewery.
Terrible experience. This was our 2nd time there. We are from out of town and pass through often when visiting family and use this area as our stopping point . We went and spent the day at the Park and had a 3 hour ride home. We made reservations in advance. We had 3 children with us, 3, 5 and 6 months. We arrived 5 mins prior to our reservation time, got seated, placed our drink orders and then our waitress disappeared. Other tables were coming in and ordering and we were still sitting there waiting. She finally takes the order. Shortly after , the 1 aptz that one of our guest orders came out. And then we sit, and wait and wait and wait. An HOUR goes by, we saying something and we get a complimentary chip basket because the kitchen is backed up, yet food is coming out to many other tables very quickly . Mind you the kids got mac and cheese and a mini cheese burger! We try to speak with the manager and there is no manager, they kept giving us the run around that someone will come talk to us, no one comes or a random waitress comes over and says ok!
Our waitress at this point is total ignoring us, has not come over since she dropped the chip basket off, hasn't offered us a refill on our drinks, walks to every table in our area to refill their water but OUR table. Almost 2 hours later we get our food! My husband keeps asking to speak to a manager and we are told she will be out, someone doesn't come out for a good 10 mins at , who clearly is NOT the manager. It was awful, we will never go there, I think they are very disorganized, they don't have a manager there making sure things are running smoothly . Our waitress clearly never put our order in after our aptz came and passed it off on the kitchen and then cold shouldered us because of her mistake. It's a shame because it's a cool looking place and food is decent.
First we bever got silverware ubtil after ojr main dishes came iut and we asked. Asked for napkins 3 times before we got them and they were not even busy. The restaurant ran out of main foods they should have had, like bread and bacon. Waiter forgot the pretzel app and then when it was brought to his attention he said they take a while to cook since they are baked... Really, so they arrived after the meal which I could be wrong but thought the whole point of an appetizer that is ordered before anything else to be quick and come out before the main meal. Also ordered French fries that never came and when asked about them waiter asked oh did you really what them, why else would we order them? Manager Mr R. was sincerely sorry for all the issues we had and was nice to offer us a gift card to return or use at their sister restaurant. But we will not be back nor would we recommend any one go there.
Terrible. Food was bland, but worse I ordered a martini and they served me something yellow. In what planet is vodka, olive juice or vermouth yellow? I sent it back and then was given swill instead of greygoose. Didn't send back the second time because, why bother. Instead... we will not go back.
Since this place is right around the corner from my home, it's pretty much a staple. Dana and her staff deliver great food and a great experience. Their BBQ is smoked on-site, and their selection of sauces is top notch. My favorites are the Alabama white and the Carolina. Cannot recommend Smoked enough!!!
Needed a quick place to stop in and grab a bite on our way to Hershey Park (just a few minutes away). Family friendly place clearly used to kids with a nice basic kids menu and fun little activities like coloring/games place mat and twisty wax straws to keep them busy. When they knew we were trying to get in and out quickly, they had to the yummy food to us fast.
Nice beer menu!
