Ruben was our server and took care of everything in a very professional way. Good food as always.
Food and service were good and everyone was pleased with their entrees. Asian pear salad was delicious. We we're celebrating a birthday and was disappointed nothing special was done but was done at other tables but did have dendrobium orchids and card for honoree.
It was a great father’s day! They gave my dad a card and flowers to celebrate! The server was awesome! Food wa excellent!
We've always enjoyed their food but this time the steak was a little overcooked. We ordered it medium and only one end did it have pink in it. For the most part it was cooked through. Their drinks are also usually pretty stiff where you only need one drink but this time that was not the case. We were celebrating a birthday and they went out of their way to write a happy birthday note along with a beautiful orchid.
It was a great day to catch up with an old friend. Smitty's gave us great ambiance and good food in one setting
I have dined at Smitty's several times for lunch, this time for dinner. Our party of 5 was seated in a large side room alone, and it was way too quiet and still , and felt out of scale. Another group was seated across the room eventually. The food was just OK. Two in my party love prime rib. Both Prime ribs ordered were under-seasoned crusts and very bland. Both steaks ordered were just "OK" and side portions extremely small. I ordered a delicious lobster roll sandwich, which I've had before. The sandwich was very tasty but the fries stone cold when brought to table. Waiters were friendly and prompt, but a little too attentive. The atmosphere was too cold and formal for my preference. Disappointing, and it cost a bundle.
this is one of those places that I drive by a zillion times and never made a stop! soooo glad I did! this is elevated comfort food! they have a great wine list & the food was delicious! had the crab cakes, cornbread, and salmon special... YUM
Always the best! Service, drinks, food. Too bad I live in San Pedro. Prime dip sandwich is an 11!
When I made the reservation I mentioned it was a 100 Birthday lunch. They had orchids and a card there for my friend. It was a lovely touch.
Smitty's is one of my absolute favorite restaurants anywhere. I am so happy to live in the area but I would drive far to come here. They are famous for their iron skillet corn bread which I have had many times and it is always perfect. Great steaks, delicious fried and roasted chicken. Fantastic creamed spinach, hot and creamy with good texture. My family likes bourbon and their selection was great with reasonable pricing for such a nice dinner house. Rib eye and filet mignon exquisite. And you can get a cheeseburger too !
wonderful as always! our server was wonderful, friendly and super nice. I forget her name. tall blonde lady
Another excellent dining experience at Smitty's - great service, food and ambience. Our usual go-to place for lunch or dinner.
Excellent meal and service provided. A very friendly and courteous staff.
Our server made our birthday celebration for my mom delightful. He was very personable and attentive. The food was delicious! The patio was perfect for our large family gathering. The noise level was low and my hard of hearing 93 year old Dad could hear most of the conservation.
If you are looking for comfort food, this is the place. Meatloaf and mashed potatoes, an amazing chicken pot pie (take some home!) and their homemade potato chips are worth the trip! Valet parking, no cost, but tip well as the attendant is working hard!!!
We love Smitty’s PB
Couldn't ask for a better Mother's Day celebration! The food was superb—everyone enjoyed their choices immensely. Parking was a breeze and economical. Will try to stop in whenever I am in Pasadena. (I came from the Westside for this occasion.)
This spot used to be one of my favorites in the San Gabriel Valley. About a decade ago, they would offer a plate of two plump, juicy, succulent pork chops (which was a must have when you visited). About five years ago, they cut the portion in half to a single pork chop. I learned on Mother's Day, that the pork chops are no longer offered. So sad. The signature corn bread is still tasty and the chicken pot pie is good. But some of the magic has dissipated when you visit Smittys now.
Anniversary. No one acknowledged.
Very nice restaurant and good food. Had a reservation for 8:45 and we had to move it up to 7:00. Restaurant was willing to accommodate us even though they were very busy on a Friday night. Thanks very much especially to the hostess who helped us.
Outstanding service and ambiance. Every dish we ordered was well prepared and very tasty. I, feel, however, that their prices are a bit out of wack for the style of restaurant: $7.00 for a cup of soup; $8.00 for a standard side salad consisting of lettuce, cucumbers and a few tomatoe slices: $9.00 for corn bread. My $18.00 Old Fashioned, while quite good, was small in portion and personally not worth more than then normal $15.00 you would find in most upscale restaurants. I would return again to Smittys but with the pricing, it would have to a very special occasion and just no "an evening out".
Lucy at the bar makes a special drink for me. It's a Rusty Nail using Bourbon instead of whiskey. She knows just how to make it!
Smitty’s is a family favorite whether it is a small group or the whole big family. Wonderful atmosphere, delicious food and wonderful service!
Maybe the single best whitefish I've ever tasted. Delighted to see how popular Smitty's remains.
Great lunch at Smitty’s once again. They always seem to be busy but handle it well. The salads are great and really enjoyed the salmon special. Service is efficient and friendly. They know many people need to get back to work.
Early Mother’s Day celebration
My wife and I had a date night this past Saturday and, as always, Smitty's came through with a fine meal and beverage service plus great service and ambiance. A winning combination. Thanks.
I've driven by Smitty's many times and never thought to try it, even though I have tried some of its "sister" restaurants such as Parkway Grill. We came to celebrate a birthday and a card with a handwritten note with 2 sprays of dendrobium orchids were for the guest of honor! We knew it was going to be a nice occasion. Server was attentive and knowledgeable. We had a party of 4 and all chose different entrees. The strawberry salad was shared and was delicious. I had the fried chicken dinner that offered 5 pieces of chicken and choice of a salad or soup or steamed vegetables. Chicken pieces were cooked perfectly and were juicy and flavorful. Generous serving of steamed vegetables of stringbeans, cauliflower, carrots. Guest of honor had the chicken pot pie that was enormous and one of the best I've eaten. Lots of chicken and vegetables with a flaky crust and delicious. If you have a sweet tooth, Smitty's will fill that need! We shared a key lime tart , chocolate mousse pie, and the honoree's brownie with vanilla ice cream. All the desserts were incredible! We've decided that Smitty's will probably become one of our favorite restaurants and will try something different the next time. We know it will be delicious!
Always there for the liver....excellent! Appreciate getting a table near the bar....hostess stated reserving a table on Open table would get us a table in the back room.....not my preference.
This is my go to place - best service and great food.
Excellent meal - Ruben our waiter was very attentive - great service!! I will look forward to my next visit
Delicious food, attentive service, great table
My family and I had a lovely birthday dinner for my mom.
We ordered the Dungeons crab salad and ribeye steak. Both were pretty good. The only issue is there was one waitress for whole back dining room so the wait to order was long. She did the best she could.
Excellent restaurant! Food is delicious, service is great and everyone was very attentive.
Judy Judy Judy was our waitress and we could not have had a better experience ... She was superb!!
Great food and service
We were short on time since it took us 1 1/2 hours to get to the restaurant from the Westside of Los Angeles. However, it was well worth it. The food was delicious. Sand dabs are so rare these days and had to order when I saw them on the menu. My husband ordered the famous chix pot pie. So so yummy. Wish we had time for a little dessert but we were off to the Pasadena Playhouse. The food was so much better than the play we saw. Anyway....can't wait to come back!
