We love Smithville Inn, just a few suggestions...add more to the menu. There wasn't enough options for entree's, although our food was very good. The environment is noisy. We heard an event taking place with loud music and the table next to us was so noisy, my husband and I couldn't hear each other talking. It was our 25th Wedding Anniversary, and we wanted something a bit more quiet and romantic. Give an option for couples celebrating in a quiet setting. Our waiter was very attentive.
We decided to have drinks at the Tavern before dinner. It was a nice way to unwind before dinner. Had the French Pear Martini, yum. We had the specials for dinner and it was delicious! We also decided on a bottle on wine thanks to Ron's recommendation. The staff is always polite and helpful. We always have a great meal and time here.
The Smithville Inn always has incredible food & service. Their brunch buffet is the best in the area and their service is impeccable.
The Sunday brunch is consistently outstanding. We go several times a month, and have never been disappointed. The variety of food is incredible - everything from fresh fruit and veggies, to sushi, to conventional breakfast foods, to outstanding entrees and prime rib, plus a fantastic assortment of desserts!
Overall a great evening Food was excellent and the atmosphere was fantastic. We were there early and had a wonderful table by the window overlooking the small lake
We are never disappointed when we dine here. Everything about the place is charming from the decor to the staff and most important, the food.
So glad that we finished up our first visit to Historic Smithville with dinner at the Smithville Inn. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Our waitress was lovely and attentive. We will be back!!
Great value great good
We often eat at the Smithville Inn and enjoy it every time. As a matter of fact, we take our guests to dinner and they always love it!
Live nearby and the Smithville Inn has been our favorite dining spot for many years.
From the moment you walk through the front door of The Historic Smithville Inn your wonderful dinning experience begins. The warmth and smell from the fire place offers a cozy waiting area. We experienced great hospitality from the minute we walked in and it continued to the very end. We were seated in a beautiful dining room that had a scenic view looking out on a Lake. Great attention was paid to our table which helped make a beautiful night to remember from a team of two older gentlemen that together made an excellent team. The Food and especially my huge Pot pie was awesome. We had several drinks from a special menu that were unique and refreshing. We ordered 5 different desserts to be place on the table and all especially the Apple crisp were delicious. I do feel as good as the cannoli was, I thought it was a little over priced along with the tartufo.
Sunday Nrunch was excellence as usual! Better bring an appetite!
First time here for Sunday Brunch. Good selection of both breakfast and lunch foods. The omelettes were delicious and not so large that you didn’t have room to try other offerings. Roast beef was tender and rare, and desserts were varied and delicious.
Coffee/tea and juice were included in the price and service was attentive but not overbearing. We’ll definitely be back!
We've been coming here about 8 times a year for many years. Tonight was really outstanding. Alyssa, our server, couldn't have done any better. A very effusive and fun personaity and certainly was very good attending to our needs.
Our dinners were both outstanding - prime rib which is always top notch. And a salmon with crabcake imperial, which was fantastic. A bottle of wine and a couple cocktails, one of the best dinners we have had here and that's saying a ton.
Took my husband here for his birthday it was absolutely fabulous. The food was delish. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. Would absolutely go here again.
The food was amazing, and our waiter, Nick, was very accommodating. He was awesome and I couldn’t have asked for better service from him. The only negative comment is the noise level. The cocktail hour for a wedding was held in the room next to our table and the door was constantly left and propped open by the event staff and guests after we asked for it to be shut. Overall, I suggest ordering the chicken pot pie. Delicious!
Was our anniversary. Dinner was great. Waitress seemed overwhelmed at times!
My wife and I decided on the Smithville Inn for a change. The service was outstanding and the food was excellent. We went on a slow night which was great for a nice meal and conversation. Great time, great food, great service!
Wonderful dinner as always and waiter was very personable and thoughtful
Went to Smithville Inn for a special birthday dinner. Experience started out ok but down hill from there. Food was ok nothing wow service was terrible . Dirty dishes left on table no water refill until I asked even though all around us received wated and meals in proper fashion. Notified restaurant it was a birthday whoops forgot. Doubt I will rush back.
Delicious food, great service and it's a fabulous deal for restaurant week lunch.
We had a fantastic lunch at Smithville Inn this past week. The braised lamb shanks were awesome, along with a great salad, mashed potatoes, and triple chocolate cake. Service was excellent too. Loved it!
Restaurant week menu was fabulous! I had the tomato bisque, pecan crusted chicken salad and strawberry shortcake!
didn't acknowledge;edge our special occasion, they had asked about in the reservation
We had an excellent dinner. Laura, our server, was excellent, and we will ask for her when we return! We enjoyed the restaurant week entree selections. My shrimp carbonara had 6 large shrimp, the bowties were firm, and the cream sauce was not overpowering. I was pleasantly surprised. We also enjoyed the veal Milanese. The veal was tender, lightly fried, and the greens were fresh.
We will be back-again !!
Had a wonderful lunch with my Aunt. She’s 95 and fussy! Our server was awesome! So attentive
As always, the Smithville Inn was excellent. We went for dinner on the first night of Restaurant Week. Our server was very professional and attentive, despite already working a very long shift. The food was wonderful. Always love the ambiance, including the real wood fire in the fireplace. Our only disappointment, albeit a minor one, was that our wine selection was not available. But our server recommended and very good substitute. I highly recommend.
Food was excellent as usual and our waiter Dave made the meal even more exceptional
Would go again & again.
The food was exceptional, can't wait to come back .
I'm dying to taste the Shrimp & Grits .
All items were fresh, well prepared and professionally presented.
I took my best friend to brunch to celebrate her birthday. I had been to the brunch several times before, but this was her first. She and I enjoyed all of the choices, especially the prime rib, which was quite tasty. We spent a couple of hours catching up, relaxing and eating. The atmosphere was great. Mike our server was attentive but not pushy. When we left my friend commented that she was looking forward to coming back.
We were disappointed this time around. My son’s bacon wrapped filet was rare and not med rare as he requested and the side of green beans and onion had no flavor whatsoever. My son also did not care for the bacon, which he said was too mushy. My prime rib was too fatty and small for the price. Unfortunately, when I told my family of my disappointment it was corroborated by them with their recent experiences. However, the service was spot on and we tipped our waitress accordingly. Over all, too expensive for too little value. The piano player makes for nice ambiance though.
This is one of many times that we have eaten at the mithville Inn. The location is fantastic! I love being able to shop, then go for a a nice lunch/dinner. Being able to look out over the lake while dining is a plus!! Having live piano music is a nice backdrop to the good food. The food, service, as always was delicious! 5 stars!!
Always take family and friends for a unique dining experience. the variety on the menu allows for everyone's taste. Great food and great drinks. The vast number of shops in Smithville make for an all beautiful visit.
Service was well-timed and friendly, food was excellent, price was very reasonable. We will be going back again soon.
While the Sunday brunch was excellent, we drove over an hour to try it for the first time. I was not impressed by the "historic" shops. I would not drive that far again. Great for those within a half an hour or so.
We had a very nice brunch celebrating my husbands birthday. The service was wonderful, everyone was very friendly and accommodating. The gentleman at the omelette station was awesome! I can’t remember the last time I had such a delicious omelette. We will most definitely be back.
The photo attached is of my son and I out front of the Inn.
It was amazing all around. The waitress was a little off but all in all it was great. The only thing that was wrong when it came to the waitress was that we could tell who were her regulars because she tended to them more.
Terry our waitress was awesome! Stephanie is an awesome bartender! They are both very patient and helpful! Never had a bad experience here! Thank you for our awesome date night!
Went for brunch. There was a great selection of food, everything was good. The service was great, wasn't overly crowded. A little pricier than some other brunch buffets, but the food selection was better than most. Would go back.
