Another great Friday night Lobster Special Dinner! Came here for the 1 1/2 pound Maine Lobster Special Dinner offered on Friday nights. A lovely garden salad started off our dinner. The lobster comes with a sweet ear of corn & a baked potato. The lobster was very tasty & moist as usual. The corn was very sweet & the baked potato just the right size. All in all a very satisfying meal!
We had a delicious meal and our server, Mike Ryan, was outstanding as usual. We always ask for Mike & know that we will be well taken care of. He always replenishes our bread basket, makes sure we get our water glasses refilled & brings us extra lemon, drawn butter & anything else we need. He is definitely an asset to the Smithville Inn! Can't wait to come back for another lobster dinner!
Always a great experience. They never disappoint. My favorite place to dine.
We’ve eaten here many times and have always found the ambiance, food and service to be excellent.
What an AWESOME restaurant !!! I HIGHLY recommend this place !!!
My girlfriend had been itching to come here for the lobster special, so we came on her birthday. It was her son and she and me. She and I ordered the lobster special: 1 1/2 lb broiled lobster, a large salad, baked potato, and corn on the cob. My girlfriend thought the lobster used to be stuffed.
Service was excellent, but lobster was somewhat chewy. The nutcracker used to crack the lobster was barely functional. Both of our crackers could not do their jobs, so some lobster may have gone uneaten. These should be replaced. Otherwise the meal was excellent.
Always a lovely experience.
Very nice food and service, pretty old place. Liked music during dinner on
Very enjoyable place to have dinner. Service is good in that it was not overly attentive but exactly right amount of attention with a display of professional
It was our Anniversary and to our surprise we were treated to Champagne! The food was outstanding, ambience was elegant - the room was beautiful. It was romantic - I would highly recommend the restaurant!
Food and service was good. I like the Friday lobster. However, lobster was a bit mealy. A lot of white gunk but edible. It may be the time of year. I like the Inn card and bonuses. The waiter allowed my husband a piece of complimentary cake for his bday. He put a candle in but no singing of happy bday which would have been nice.
Service was awesome. Food was delicious. Every person loved their meal.
Everything was great, with the exception of not being able to substitute french fries for a baked potato with the lobster dinner special. I was always able to substitute french fries in the past, so I don't understand why I can't do it this season. I don't eat baked potatoes.
The Friday Night Lobster Special didn't disappoint! My 2 dining companions & I had the 1 1/2 lb. Maine Lobster special. It came with a garden salad, baked potato & ear of corn. The very reasonable price of $25 makes this meal a great value!
Mike Ryan, our wonderful server, was everything a server should be...attentive, professional yet warm & friendly. We always request Mike as he is the best there is! He brings us exactly what we need when we need it & always is ready to make our dining experience a memorable one!
We always enjoy our Friday night Lobster Special & look forward to it each time we come back!
My Seafood Paella came with tough scallops, shrimp, chicken and crab. The clams were tiny and almost non-existent. Entire meal swam in soupy broth. The staff were for apologetic and quickly offered me alternate meal, which was quickly prepared and served to me. The manager was very professional. He and the waiter continually checked in on our dining party to assure everything else was to our satisfaction.
This was a business dinner. A new manager began working with us and she is new to the area. I was bragging about your restaurant and she suggested we have our dinner there. I requested the table by the window overlooking the pond and we were accommodated. In addition to everyone totally enjoying what they ordered, our waiter made our dining experience even more special. He was personable and in tune to everything happening at our table. I will make it my business to ask for him whenever I visit your establishment going forward. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
We just love the Smithville Inn. We enjoy the atmosphere, the food and the service. This time we met two of the owners. They were so nice! I love how they decorate the lobby by the fireplace.
This restaurant never disappoints! I had the filet mignon which was cooked to perfection and my husband had the tuna. Both were large portions and accompanied by a tasty house salad. We also had the mussels which were on point. The peanut butter bomb for dessert was delicious. The ambiance is charming and the view of the pond with the ducks is peaceful. As always, the service was perfect.
Always a wonderful dining experience. The atmosphere and food are always excellent. Whether a special occasion or a weekly dinner, never have been disappointed.
The Smithville Inn never fails to provide an excellent meal. The staff is attentive and the food is great. The brunch has so many items to choose from. If you leave hungry it's entirely your own fault! Love this place.
What a great place to enjoy a very nice dinner.Love the atmosphere.
Great atmosphere. Service was excellent. Food delicious. Was not rushed at all. Great experience overall. Will definitely be back!
Highly recommend. The venue is vintage. The staff is polite, knowledgeable, and friendly. The environment is clean and family friendly. Live piano music was provided. The space allows for restaurant goers as well as private parties and weddings. Finally, the food is outstanding. The cost matches portions and flavors delicious.
Always look forward to dining at Smithville Inn. Yesterday we ordered fried green tomatoes and they were not up to par. Heavy layer of breading and tasted very mealy. Always look forward to the chicken pot pie as well. Definitely skimping on the chicken and vegetables. My husband had the grouper and he said it was very dry.
We have been eating here for over 30 years first time I was disappointed in meals. Service was great! Maybe the chef was off his game yesterday!
Another great meal!
We come on many Friday's for lobster night during the summer.
Great Lobster Special Dinner! Had a wonderful $25 Lobster Special Dinner here on a Friday night. You get a 1 1/2 lb. Maine lobster, corn on the cob & baked potato along with a nice garden salad...all for the great price of $25. My 2 dining companions and I all got the lobster.
The lobster was delicious and the corn was sweet. The salad is a good size and very nice.
The baked potato is always good too.Overall a very good meal.
Mike Ryan, our requested server, was great as usual. We love Mike! His service, friendliness & professionalism can't be beat & I always request him. He anticipates all of our needs, brings us extra drawn butter, lemon & whatever else we need. We always have a great experience when Mike is taking care of us!
I would highly recommend the Friday night lobster special!
Always good food and Mike our waiter is fantastic !
everything was excellent....
The food and atmosphere are always great! The chicken pot pie is amazing. The bartenders and waiters are very welcome and friendly
We were there for my birthday. Staff and food were very nice. The only problem was someone at the next table talking loudly on his cellphone and repeatedly invoking the name of the Lord ( not in a good way). I tried to make light of it but he continued. Made a great night mediocre. SAD!
Hope to return for another milestone birthday but can only hope the cellphone policy is changed.
The restaurant is very scenic and the food was outstanding. However, they started to clear the table before we were finished talking. I thought that was because they had a waiting line, however there wasn't one.
Food was very mediocre. Expected a lot more
Had the Lobster Special here for dinner. A 1 1/2 lb. Maine lobster was served with a garden salad, baked potato & corn on the cob for $25. Unfortunately, both the lobsters I had & my dining companion had were not up to the usual standard. Both were somewhat tough & dry for the most part, which was very disappointing. We discussed this & didn't know if it was because it was the beginning of the season or possibly the lobsters were steamed too long (?). In any event, it definitely marred the overall experience.
Mike Ryan, our excellent server, was requested and he definitely didn't disappoint! He was attentive, professional & friendly. We always ask for him when we go to the Smithville Inn. He always takes extra special care of us to make sure we have everything we need at all times on our table!
The baked potato & ear of corn were fine. The corn was very sweet which was good. The salad is always a nice touch too.
Hope to have better lobsters when we return again!
Great place, great location. Visit Forsyth Wildlife Preserve 2 miles south.
The Smithville Inn never disappoints. The ambiance is lovely; cozy and comfortable. Staff are extremely attentive and always pleasant. Our meals were absolutely delicious. We have been to the Smithville Inn many times, and it’s wonderful each and every time.
We were seated immediately upon arrival.....the waiter was prompt in coming to us for drink orders.........everything was brought promptly. The food was very good and we all had quite enough to eat. Our drinks were delicious.
Always a 10. Slightly pricey. ambiance worth it (and food)
Wonderful dinner and view for Mother's Day Dinner Saturday night
I made my reservations online. I called to add another guest and had no problems. Delicious food, friendly waitstaff. Very reasonable prices. We had a wonderful afternoon. I will definitely go back!
