Smithville Inn Ratings and Reviews
Had our office Holiday party there. My first time ever and it was outstanding. The food was incredible, drinks were wonderful and staff was great!!! Decorated beautifully for Christmas, loved the fireplace in the entrance! Highly recommend, can't wait to go back.
Haven't been there in a long time because we had lousy service in the past. Food was good, but our friend's son's chicken tenders came out burned. Very surprised that it even left the kitchen!! We enjoyed our Eggplant Rollantini and Braised Short Rib Pasta. Our friends enjoyed their Fillet & Shrimp dish. Service was better than last time, but they still auctioned off the food. Really, you don't know how to not do this? Place was very loud!! Neat old Inn but we felt like they turned off the heat to get us out since we were just talking after dinner. Parking is a nightmare!! Got yelled at by a valet because I didn't know it was a "valet spot". May or may not return.
Smithville inn was decorated beautifully for Christmas.
The food was good....a bit pricey. Service was excellent.
My only complaint was that it was not crowded and yet we were seated right next to another table. A bit too close. I didn't feel that was necessary.
Would dine there again.
The Inn is beautiful. I food is medicore at best. I ordered chicken milanese the salad on top need something for flavor, very blah. My husband enjoyed his Salmon entree. He ordered a drink it was not good sent it back. The service is good, it was busy so our dinner took a long time to come out. I would go again and try something else. The menu needs a revamping, it seems dated. I thought the prices were high for what we had, especially me a $24 chicken cutlet.. We sat in the Braemore inn which I thought had a lighter menu, maybe a hamburger choice.
I read good reviews prior to our reservation so had no trepidation in making the reservation.
My meal was horrible from start to finish.
The soup of corn chowder was ok, but warm, not hot.
The short rib and cheese sandwich was soggy - was supposed to be hot and wasn't.
The sweet potato fries were grease laden and wimpy - not crisp as expected. The waitress thought they were not fully cooked as well.
She gave me pasta salad as a substitute and the pasta was hard and there was nothing else in it -- should have just been called pasta.
My husband's meal of fish and chips was marginally better.
Again, the same soup was okay, but just warm.
His fish and chips were okay, but greasy -- they don't drain, and therefore his was soggy and cold as well. And his french fries were okay, but cold.
The waitress sent us on our way with a piece of carrot cake which my husband tried later. He said it had a smoky wood taste so that also was not good.
We eat out often and I would give this restaurant an "F" for complete failure -- we definitely won't go back.
We watched others get their food and nothing was served hot and I even heard people make the comment. I can't understand why the great reviews on their website. Makes me wonder if they are actual reviews.
Our waitress was okay, but the whole operation was run poorly and unorganized.
We thoroughly enjoyed having our family dinner at this restaurant. The staff was very courteous and very attentive. Beautiful restaurant and love the quaint little shopping village and their unique gifts and goodies. Recommend it to anyone to see and enjoy. Thank you for making our dinner a great experience.
My wife and I went to the Smithville Inn for her birthday. Our waiter Mike Ryan was absolutely fabulous from the start. He was very attentive to us and helpful in his suggestions and recommendations. His personality and customer service is second to none. My wife had the NY Steak medium and it was cooked and tasted perfect. I had the lobster, shrimp, scallops mussels and clams and it was delicious. Generous portions for the price. Outstanding deserts. Tony, the owner of the inn stopped by our table to asked how everything was, and if we enjoyed our meal and service. Our experience was excellent from beginning to end. I have to mention also that the hostesses, car valet driver and table buspersons were all excellent as well and helped make our experience outstanding. We give the Smithville Inn an A+.

Meal was disappointing. It was good - not great for the price. Too heavy handed on the salad dressing. Prime rib was mediocre. Had to wait long time for our meals - may have been because they had a wedding going on - which was VERY loud. Not the romantic quiet evening we had hoped for.
Great brunch. Nice atmosphere and scenery with a great brunch selection for a fixed price. Mimosa, Bloody Mary etc., available for an extra charge. Exceptional service from everyone. Food was delicious. Nice restaurant in Smithville, after dining, walk and visit the shops. Valet parking is available as well as self parking. For larger groups, private rooms are available.
NEVER disappointed at The Smithville--the food was really delicious, the staff was more than accomadating, really make you feel like everything is taken care of! We were celebrating my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary and everything was just perfect, THANK YOU to everyone! ;-D
We went for our 22 wedding anniversary on November 4th...our server was Mike and he was outstanding !! We will definitely be back and we can not believe we have not been there before. Easley would recommend this place....loved it !!!
Thank you for a great night !!!
It's hard to beat the Smithville Inn for it's quaint and historic ambience. The Inn itself is wonderful, but the location within Smithville Village is also nice for strolling before or after dinner. Our party was pleased with their meal selections, which included the tasty, perfectly seasoned and meaty crab cakes, a very delectable and perfectly cooked prime rib, and the hearty bouillabaisse. Salads came with the entrees, but other than a substantial selection of dressings, they were nothing special. A warm apple dessert with carmel sauce in a crispy shell was recommended by the waiter. I think the attempt at creativity got in the way of taste. The shell was bland. A simple, well made, warm apple pie would have been much better. We have dined at the Smithville Inn on other occasions and looked forward to having a cup of one of the best coffees I have ever had in my life - Douwe Egberts. I was actually anticipating a cup from the time I made the reservation. It isn't served at many places, but the Inn WAS one of them. We were informed by the waiter and manager that it is no longer available which was a real disappointment. Our waiter was congenial and efficient, but as we have found with many young servers these days, they are very casual in their interactions with patrons. This may be an attempt at establishing a less stuffy, more friendly atmosphere or relationship, but it often makes me wince when referred to as "you guys" and asked "What can I get ya?" I must also mention the wonderful piano player who provides beautiful music to accompany your meal. Very nice! Very classy! A good time was had by all!
