We tried the Tavern side this time and really enjoyed it. There is a great fireplace there with a long bar and it's a more casual atmosphere than the formal restaurant. The tavern has the same menu, so the food experience is the same. But I would not place a huge table right in front of the fireplace though...rather arrange the tables around it to not block the view & good vib.
My wife and I love this place. We make it an annual tradition to celebrate our anniversary. Great food and a great atmosphere.
Best place around!!!!
Meeting friends we rarely see. Had space and time to catch up and not be rushed.
We had an enjoyable relaxing evening! Piano playing and conversation flowing . Food fabulously delicious! Servers were awesome as well as the coat check girl!
Good food, great service, nice atmosphere. Will be back soon.
Great service, food and drinks delicious. Wonderful dining experience. Started with fried calamari, stuffed mushrooms and shrimp cocktail. All were excellent. Party of 4, had prime rib, lamb, crab cakes, braised beef pasta and all were well prepared and flavorful. You can tell the food is thought out with different flavors and touches that make it unique. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Great atmosphere, well maintained Inn and service was excellent. I love their Chicken pot pie.
It’s been on our bucket list, and so happy it’s now done...complete waste of money and time! I have absolutely no idea what people rave about...the minute we sat down, we were greeted with our water glasses that were filthy and caked with food. We have no problem with spending money on food, but don’t insult us! The service was good, but everything else left a lot to be desired. 😢
The experience at the Smithville Inn is always wonderful.
Celebrating a birthday and as always the food was excellent.
Always exceptional. This time, I brought my sisters from NYS and they were also extremely impressed. Food. Service, ambiance -all top notch.
Always friendly service and great food!
Recommend highly and can’t wait to return myself.
Great food at Smithville. I like that you can stroll in the Village and eat in the Bar section of the Smithville Inn, or enjoy a special night out with a beautiful view of the lake. The lights on all the trees make it very romantic too. Must try their Chicken Pot Pie...it is fabulous!
We love this restaurant and the people that own it.
Amazing experience. Manager and service staff made an anniversary dinner very special with amazing service. Food was excellent and pricing very reasonable. Will definitely be back
Chicken Pot pie was huge! Tasty and delivered hot. Always a wonderful meal at the Smithville Inn!
Very good all you can eat brunch. Excellent selection of foods, and nice view of the pond. Beverage service was a little spotty but it could have been an off day. Very quick clearing of the used dishes and good overall cleanliness and freshening of food at the buffet. Would definitely try it again.
Went for our 5 year anniversary, and we were also married at Smithville Inn. Food is always phenomenal. Our waiter was friendly and accommodating. LOVE the live piano. Never anything negative to say about this place. Walked around Smithville first, and they were able to accommodate us when we asked to be seated early.
Excellent food in a great setting. Large portions, great tast and great value. Nice that a restaurant thinks highly of its patrons and takes reservations in the village. The butternut squash soup is phenomenal. THE place to eat in the village!!
We were there several years ago; and our memories did not disappoint! Everything was exceptional. We live in Delaware but will find our way back there for a rich dining experience.
This place is awesome. Food and service is excellent, If you haven’t been here you need to try it.
Food was exceptional. chef Phil really goes above and beyond with his creations while keeping the generational staples on point. A very reasonable wine list to go with tremendous ambiance, a must go to for ANY occasion
We both ordered the Prime Rib which came with Yorkshire Pudding, baked potato and string beans. It also came with a nice salad which was very fresh. The Prime Rib was very tender and tasty. I had a French Pear Martini, which was awesome! Service was top notch. Can't wait to go back!!!
Had a nice brunch date. Beautiful buffet and plenty of food. Service was excellent for coffee water ,juice. Business casual. Cute historic building. Many stores surround the Inn. . You will enjoy. Valet parking too.
Good value for the price. Excellent selection for brunch.
Smithville Inn is consistently outstanding. The Sunday brunch can't be beat. There is everything there - from breakfast omelets to sushi to a mashed potato bar, full salad bar, carving station, you name it, it's there. The quality of the food is outstanding. The service is outstanding. The atmosphere is outstanding. Just can't be beat!
A splendid time!! Service, food and ambiance are a 10.
From the food to our waiter, Mike Ryan, who was fantastic, everything was just great. Everyone was so friendly and attentive including the owners who both stopped by to talk to us. Our dinner was great and we look to come back again soon.
Delicious filet mignon. Can't wait to go back!',,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
We love the Smithville Inn and are looking forward to our next visit unfortunately this past visit was a bit subpar. We were seated in a very crowded section and the area was very noisy. We were their celebrating our Anniversary so a table in the lower section by the window near the pond would have been much nicer where we have always been sat when we previously visited. The service was just okay. We ate half our meal before we were asked how our food was and my wife had an empty wine glass for five minutes before she was asked if she wanted a second glass. Last year we celebrated our Anniversary there and the manager came over and wished us a Happy Anniversary and thanked us for coming, this year nothing. We saw the manager walking around but never stopped by our table. The food was outstanding but overall just an okay experience this time.
Love, love, loved the restaurant! Great ambience, friendly staff, and the best chicken pot pie ever!
Took my mom here for lunch because of the cute Smithville town and pond view. Lunch was nice. Food was good, nothing fabulous. Wished there were more hot sandwich options. Waiter was such a great guy. We enjoyed ourselves
Smithville Inn was always our go to place for special occasions. The last couple of visits were hit or miss. Last night definitely a miss. The Smithville Inn salad dressing was not very well balanced. Very oily. Walnuts were not crisp and hardly any Parmesan cheese. Rack of lamb was ordered medium rare. Came to the table blood red. Sent it back and second time still raw. On the other hand my husbands steak was delicious. Not sure if I will try again.
Monday dining is probably not a good idea unless you can go early. We had a 7:30 reservation and by 8:45 they were cleaning up around us. Most of the staff including management left and our server was left alone to accommodate us. She was great and offered to serve dessert herself since no one was in the kitchen!!! When fine dining at a restaurant of this quality I don’t appreciate being rushed. Perhaps listing their hours as closing early at the beginning of the week would be a better idea. We would adjust accordingly. Our fine dining experience turned into a rushed and uncomfortable experience. I hate when plates are being cleared while I am still finishing my dinner.
They where having a wedding and the band was a little loud for the dining room, but not that bad. All else was good
Food was delicious! Waiter was fantastic and fun especially with the grandkids!
Love Smithville Inn! Always a very enjoyable experience.
The food was disappointing. One of our party sent the dinner back. There was quite a wait for our meals. We will skip this place in the future.
