Food and service was great for our anniversary.
Food was mediocre. All baked potatoes were burnt. Prime rib was small and fat. Salad was refrigrator cold. Service was very slow, but pleasant. Price was high considering quality of food- small, non-descript prime rib with small, burnt baked potato and decent green beans was $33. Ambience, however, is far above average for both the Inn and the surroundings.
A lovely buffet with yummy food, helpful staff and happy clients. A fun time for our family.

Beautiful brunch service and a bonus to see Councilman Tony chatting happily with so many guests.
Thank you for your feedback! We look forward t o seeing you again soon!
We recently had a family dinner at Smithville Inn to celebrate a landmark birthday. The experience count have been better. The ambiance, food and service were all outstanding. The piano playing made it extra special. We will be going back soon💕
Thank you for your feedback. We strive for excellence in everything we do and We look forward to seeing you again soon!
Came to celebrate a birthday our server Rachel wasn’t attentive waited 10mins for share plates. Sever kept disappearing. Mash potatoes came out cold. Overall spend your dollars else where
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are sorry that your experience did not exceed your expectations. However, We do not have a server named Rachel. We will make necessary changes to make sure our service improves. We hope you give us another chance.
Chicken pot pie is the best! Our waiter Mike, was awesome.
Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your compliments and look forward to seeing you again soon!
Unfortunately no one approached our table to greet us or take our order for 10+ minutes, so my parents and I left. Very disappointing.
Thank you so much for bringing this to our attention. We are so sorry that your table was not greeted promptly. We take guest feedback very seriously and will do everything we can to correct this issue. We sincerely hope you give us another try.
I love the salad which my wife and I split. I had the sirloin which was very good but not excellent. The service was friendly but it could have been more timely. It was very busy. We will be back!
Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We are committed to excellent quality and service. We will make necessary changes to live up to your standards, and look forward to seeing you again soon!
Always enjoyable - very friendly servers, good food. Highly recommend their Sunday Brunch buffet and/or any special occasion (even just a special evening at a reasonable price).
Visited where we got married for our 18th wedding anniversary
Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We hope to see you again soon!
Seated on time, excellent service and high quality food. Pricy, but worth it.
we had a very disappointing experience this time at Smithville Inn - we'd been before and returned because we had a good experience the first time. This time, both the service and food were poor - service was very slow and, in fact, our server went missing for a while. The food came out with errors (e.g., missing components) and the child's mac 'n cheese was rancid (they told us that they buy it pre-made -- it was rancid and would have made our child sick if he had eaten it). The fish was overcooked and the meat was undercooked. They did not charge us for the mac 'n cheese or meat that we didn't eat, but did charge us for the replacement salad. Oh, the house salads were too cold - had clearly been stored pre-made in the refrigerator, probably from the night before. Overall, very disappointing.

As always wonderful meal great food great service
We had a wonderful evening celebrating our anniversary. The piano player is excellent and they always make you feel welcome.
Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We hope to see you again soon!
Smithville in always impresses. The food and service were outstanding. This is one of our favorite restaurants. If you haven’t been there you should try it.
The night was amazing. My husband and I couldn’t have asked for a nicer evening to spend our 30 year anniversary. Thank you!
Our food was great but the service was even better. Laura is a great server! Keep hold of her Smithville!!
Food was delicious.
Services was wonderful.
Everything was perfect.
We’ve been here many many times before and we certainly will be back again.
Food was bland. Atmosphere in the overflow room was drab and no ambiance especially for a Valentine’s Day evening. Front entrance fireplace was impressive. Would be nice to have the historic story next to it.
It was a Valentine’s Day date with my wife. The service was great, the food was delicious (as usual), it’s a little pricy but usually worth it!!!
Fine dining it was not!
The oysters Rockefeller were watery without any taste at all. The salad tasted like bag salad from BJs with bottle dressing. We both had the prime rib because we were told it was the best around. Well we were very disappointed. It was very fatty, unfavorable, and tasted like liver. For a diner of two costing $200 we expected a bit more. Not only in the quality of the food, that was poor to say the least. But also in the staff. If fine dining is what you are looking for this staff will not accomplish it. Something as simple as waiting until both parties are finished eating before attempting to clear the diner plates is not followed. Etiquette states that you wait until both are finished. They came and took my plate away as soon as I finished while my wife was still eating. Obviously she ended her diner at that moment as you should.
In essence a very disappointing experience all around. Would not recommend this restaurant for fine dining as evidenced by its pricing! You will get Golden Corral food and service for Capital Grill pricing.
The Smithville Inn never disappoints we usually go for Valentine's Day because they do such a nice job piano player provides nice ambiance we have the prime rib which is delicious and a good value for the price service is spot on it's also decorated very pretty will definitely be back
It was great!!

Our valentine dinner was a complete disappointment. Here’s why. The restaurant was busy due to the occasion but they forgot to bring our salads and then did not offer to bring them out with our dinner. When our dinners were served the lobster tails were rubbery and the steaks, which were ordered as a medium, were way overcooked. My wife decided to keep hers but I requested that they bring out the steak medallions for me, cooked to medium. The waiter was very gracious about it, unfortunately the kitchen staff was having a BAD night. Two out of the four medallions were cooked perfectly the other two were not cooked, and were rare. They offered to compensate by bringing us free dessert. Unfortunately the kind gesture was also a fail because the carrot cake was tasteless and the crème brûlée was hard and had the consistency of rice pudding. I haven’t been to the Smithville Inn in sometime and honestly I was very disappointed. My past experience years and years ago was a very good one. Unfortunately last night will be our last visit there.
The positives are that it’s a lovely place with nice ambience. The valet, coat check and hostess were very warm and inviting.
We went to lunch at the Smithville Inn on Valentine's Day. Pre-set meals on special occasions are not for us so we prefer lunch. Our order was placed after our drinks were delivered. Both of which were excellent. No one had told our waitress that my husband's selection wasn't available. Disappointment right then. He chooses something else. My lunch was quite good but the 2nd choice lunch for my husband was flat out bad. Prime rib sandwich which had scraps of overcooked or possibly reheated meat with a stale bun. Lots of cheese to cover this mess but no flavor. There was some mayo/horseradish type condiment. So very disappointing. Hard to get excited about a revisit.

We dine here often and the food is always good, chicken pot pie is my go to dish, very tasty and not something you see in every menu. Menu has not changed in quite some time however, I suppose it doesn’t have to since it gets a lot of one time diners. Anyway. Worth a visit
Always a wonderful job by the staff! Mike is my go to waiter! He’s always nice and friendly
Torri was attentive and made suggestions- we’ll be back
Took my husband there for his birthday and had a great time. Staff was great and food was amazing. This will be our new date night spot when we stay in smithville
Smithville Inn is always treasured by our family. Tony and Staff are the most gracious hosts. Piano music by Lenny is icing on the cake. We had the pleasure of dining recently and bringing our Uncle who hasn’t been to Smithville Inn for quite sometime. He wanted prime rib and Smithville always exceeds expectations. Thank you very much for setting high standards and keeping them alive which is very refreshing nowadays.
The food was excellent and so was the service .
We had an excellent experience this time much better than last time.
A lovely quaint restaurant with fireplaces, a piano player and good food. One of our favorites!
We went on Friday night that’s their prime rib night we had 6 people the prime rib was excellent large portions and everything was very good
Food and ambience are great, great value for the money.
I've eaten here many times, but this time was my least favorite. All 5 of us ordered entrees, not sandwiches or salads and when I asked about bread, I was told they don't service bread at lunch (we were eating around 3pm).
Always top notch quality and service in a beautiful setting. We love it and we tell everyone!
The first time I went to Smithville a couple of years ago with my grandkids I was taken aback by the small town feel, cozy shops and carefree feeling. I went last night for dinner at Smithville Inn.
Valet service is convenient because it’s still cold outside. Once we went in, they seated us in the dining room with the big windows. There was a pianist throughout the evening. Songs from Sinatra, Elvis Presley and others.
The waiter was one of the best I’ve experienced. They brought out assorted breads and flatbread with homemade butter. I ordered the French chicken in a red wine brine, glazed carrots and quinoa. It was delicious! The temperature and texture of the carrots were on point. I finished the meal with my favorite, créme brûlée! Delicious!
Always a treat to go there. In fact I was the Restaurant Auditor in the early 70's and have been going there ever since. The food is always well prepared and service is friendly.
