Great meal and service. Loved the lay out and lighting. Would recommend.
Ambiance was amazing. Customer Service was top notch! Food was delicious :)
The food was delicious, the service stupendous and the kitchen was so accommodating to set our menus items up family style, as that is how we had requested to share items. We had a wonderful meal and enjoyed everything so much. Notably the Brussels Sprouts side and pork belly starter were just delectable!
The service was not good unfortunately. The waitress forgot little things over and over, kept apologizing but continued to be distracted. She did not clear away side plates and coffee cups as they were done being used, so our table was full of dirty dishes the whole time.
The food was not my usual experience at Smith. The burger was so salty I couldn’t finish it. I was sick for approximately two hours after my visit.
I love Smith and don’t plan to avoid it, I feel it was one of those anomaly visits unfortunately
Loved the sausage and chaurchutire boards. Oysters were also delicious! Thanks!
Everything was great, just a bit expensive. $11 for a side of potatoes and $36 for just a 10oz steak, seems a bit high. Cool place though and I would go back for sure.
A great place for a night out! Great food and ambiance. Service was a bit slow, but it was a Saturday night.
Ok food and value. Great setting though. Would recommend as a place for a drink not a formal meal.
The service and food were excellent! Also, the location is awesome.
The food was very mediocre and incredibly overpriced. The restaurant was empty but the bar was full and apparently there is a different bar menu so I guess the bar is the place to go. The food in the restaurant is very expensive, the entrees are all ala cart so no sides at all and every side dish is a minimum $10. The pork chop was sliced into 4 small pieces, the filet steak was sliced in half horizontally and was not impressive and the 2 small plates I ordered consisted of 3 mushroom ravioli and 3 marrow bones that had, in total, about 1 oz of marrow to spread across 4 pieces of garlic bread. The desserts were good and reasonably priced, and in the end, were the highlight of the meal. 3 people arrived hungry and left hungry but with a wallet $250 lighter for 3 'meals' and 3 cocktails. I will not be going back and would not recommend this location to anyone. The waitress and service were excellent though, but could not make up for the mediocre food and very high prices for the quantity of food.
We had a pleasant evening but the service was minimum at best. Truffle fries were also very disappointing.
The lamb, buttermilk chicken and cauliflower fritters were good.
Madison was fantastic! Would recommend this place to everyone!
The menu was boring. I ordered the catch of the day which was nothing special. I ordered this as the entree selection is very limited and seems overwhelmingly red meat. Maybe just not the right place for me. My dessert sticky toffee pudding was dry and disappointing. The salmon tartare was wonderful however. Just wish there was more of a seafood selection for entrees. Like salmon or shrimp
. Overall a perfect spot for a special occasion.
Food was excellent and the server was amazing. Price was a little steep but all in all a very good experience
I love the ambiance here and the location when your day allows for some touring around. We enjoyed our brunch for the most part - had a few things not so perfect but sometimes that happens. If you have a small child be sure to explain that it might be helpful to receive the meal first or quickly. Parents weren't asked, didn't think to specify and it was a bit long of a wait. I will go back FOR SURE as I like Smith.
My boyfriend and I made reservations at SMITH for my birthday. We ordered the half fried chicken and two cocktails. The chicken was incredible and the creativity of the cocktails was amazing. Mine came in a tea cup and his came in a cool tall green glass. We will definitely be returning!
Sorry but I love french fries and the 12 $ potion of burned bites with truffle oil not worth the money ,my philosophy ..if a Kitchen can't make crispy french fries and pay attention to a simple staple it sets the tone for the rest of the courses ,way to over prized poor quality . Zucchini fritters ..not crispy mushy ,it came with tomato sauce ... this sauce was reduced to a thick paste not even closed to a sauce ...cauliflower not properly cooked ,hard inside , soggy outside . Face value of the mushroom ravioli ,poor presentation ...everything looked like it was rushed ... can't recommend it ,won't come back .
Our experience was overall good as was the quality of the food. However it took over an hour to have our dinner delivered which was less than desirable.
I wrote a yelp review
Food very poor and small samples
Great atmosphere, service was great! Food was good!
Food was excellent. Service has always been good and today was no different.
My friend received the wrong dish but kept it anyhow since it was one she was thinking of ordering anyhow. The waiter apologized and was willing to take it back but it would have taken too long.
What a terrible experience. My toast want buttered, my omelet was rubbery, potatoes was drenched in oil. It was the worst experience ever.
I love the breakfasts at Smith (Flannel Skillet, Shakshuka were outstanding), so I was disappointed that the food at dinner was so bland. The pickerel was OK, but the bussell sprouts and the beets were both flat and uninspired - beets were almost tasteless. Maybe the chef at Passero would share their recipes for both! Nice staff though, and decent wine.
I had a very good experience at Smith. Great burger and fries with a wonderful gravy. Service was awesome and friendly. Will certainly return !
They have an Excellent weekend brunch menu! We will be back!
Food was excellent. Started with Fresh oysters. Nice to find fresh oysters in Winnipeg. Main course was the Pickerel and the Pork Chop. Both outstanding.
Alexis was a great server! Well done
Great place with excellent food ! Our server Jane was fantastic!
We had a great night at Smith Restaurant.
The server was fantastic! Super fun and very knowledgeable about the food/menu. I have celiac so an informed person helps make me feel so much better about eating somewhere.
The food was delicious. We started with an appetizer (pounded cheese served with gluten free bread) and then each had one of the specials (scallops). We were with a group so tried some desserts and they were all really yummy (flourless chocolate cake, creme brûlée and sorbet made in-house - all gluten free as well). Overall this is a great place to go. The only small item is that the drinks are slightly over priced in my opinion.
So happy the brought back the pounded cheese!
Portions and taste overall were good. A couple side dishes were underwhelming ( cauliflower and beets). Service was good.
Phenomenal food. My friend and I went out for dinner and we had the pickerel, half chicken, beets, gratin, and Mac and cheese. In addition to the steak tartare (LOVED), and the cauliflower fritters. Highly recommend. The staff was friendly, and a nice ambiance. In addition, the cocktails paired well! Definitely coming back.
Food is always bomb
This is our favourite restaurant. The service is exceptional. Our meal took a long time to come out as there was a mishap in the kitchen, but our server kept checking in on us, quick refills on the italian sodas, complimentary homemade bread, and once the meal came out, they apologized and offered free dessert for the wait. The ambiance is calming, elegant and pleasant and the food and drinks are out of this world. The meals are à la carte, so it is fairly expensive but worth it for a nice dinner.
Food was great but service a slow.
We were there with a group of six for a New Years Day Brunch. 3 of the eggs Bennidect where all overcooked and 2 sent back I ate mine as is but it was very over cooked eggs. The other three, one came with the Benny's the sandwich was about 15 mins later and the last we were mostly done and it arrived with the redone Benny's. They burned the Falafel on the first sandwich. They discounted two of the Bennys and free coffee. It was a terrible first impression and I will not recommend it to anyone.
Service was great, attentive and perfect timing. Food was presented beautifully and delicious. The experience was exactly what we were looking for.
Great Christmas buffet, really enjoyed everything from the food to the ambience.
