SMITH Ratings and Reviews
First time going to SMITH for dinner. We had a wonderful meal, the atmosphere was great, decorating was good. Our server was polite and friendly, very knowledgeable of the menu, and was very helpful as it was our first time being there.
Would recommend, very tasty, good value.
First time to SMITH - what a find! Great food and lovely restaurant. The wait staff were knowledgeable about the dishes and very courteous and pleasant. Food was amazing! Everyone enjoyed their choices. Meals are large so we all shared which only increased the great time we had. Will definitely be going here again!
The restaurant is very nice inside and we had great service. However, the food was disappointing. The beef tartare and chips and dip were overly salty. My husband had the mixed grill. The meat was dry and it was definitely not worth the $55 price tag. I had a salad which was average. Everything was way overpriced for below average food.
Like the ambiance and service but too many dinner options with meat . My girlfriend is a vegetarian and I eat very little meat. I found the menu very limited when it came to meals without meat . I was very difficult to decide on a meal because of these limited options .
We went for an early New Year’s Eve dinner. It was very expensive at $69 per person. The food was awful! My steak was cooked medium it medium well and had a lot of grizzle. My meringue dessert was soggy. My friends veal was not much better. It looked undercooked. Drinks were very expensive as well. We had 2 each and our bill was about $250. We will never go back.
We visited Smith for a girls night and enjoyed every aspect of our evening. The restaurant was beautiful and everything we ordered was fantastic. Our server made great recommendations as it was our first time visiting Smith. We shared appetizers, desert and wine and are already planning another visit for weekend brunch.
We love the hotel and the location at the Forks. We dined at the restaurant on two occasions. The first time was for our anniversary in mid December. The food was average, our winter salad made with chopped ice burg lettuce, with a few pieces already turning a rusty colour. The rest of the meal was okay but we didn't feel that the $110 bill represented good value. That particular night it was also very noisy in the restaurant.
A week later we decided to try again for lunch. Friends were visiting. The parking was a problem....the parade was full in spite of saying there were empty spots. There also was confusion about the hotel parking in the parade. The doorman indicated that we could park in the reserved hotel spaces if we were at the restaurant. However our server said no we couldn't. This time we sat in the Lounge. We preferred this seating. We ordered one of the daily specials, a crustless quiche. It was a disappointment. Basically the quiche was simply scrambled eggs with leeks and goat cheese. Again we didn't feel that we received value for our money, a $62 bill for 2 entrees and a single glass of beer.
The service on both occasions was very good.
We will stay at the hotel again but doubt if we will eat a meal at the restaurant, perhaps drinks in the lounge.
Very good atmosphere and great staff. Was there for the Christmas dinner buffet. Food was excellent except the turkey. VERY disappointed that the “roasted turkey” was a processed turkey log and not an actual roasted turkey for Christmas. It was very dry and no appetizing at all.
All the other food was great but the turkey is enough to question our decision to go back next Christmas.
Went with a few girlfriends for a leisurely lunch. Had reservations for the restaurant but ended up sitting in the lounge because it was brighter. Our server, Wendy was awesome. She was extremely personable and had lots of great recommendations. We ordered the olives, which were very smokey, the hummus which was excellent and the cauliflower which was also great. I ordered the curry dish which i really enjoyed. Overall we had a great lunch.
The evening started with the hostess’ comment that we were almost 1/2 hour late. I checked my OpenTable confirmation, and we were actually 10 minutes early. Atmosphere was great, but food average at best. Server did not tell us everything on the charcuterie board, and when we asked her to do so, she didn’t know. Both steaks ordered medium rare came medium well and were tough. Both veggie dishes mushy and too much sauce. Timing of food service was good, but overall way too expensive. Live country music duo performing in the lounge does not fit the restaurant
Person I was meeting arrived ahead of me. Was already seated when I arrived. So I joined him. I assumed he checked in and was seated with our reservation . 30 minutes later our third person arrived. Gentleman who seated her reminded that I didn't check in when I arrived. He thought I was a no show. In a rather odd way he kind of gave me heck and said three strikes and you are out with open table. As I mentioned I had only started issuing the app a week ago and also thought my friend had us seated he just reminded me of the rule I broke. Not very welcoming and the restaurant was 70 % empty so my reservation didn't take away from someone getting seated.
