I really like this place. Next time i will have to go with a group of friend's. From the pool table, ping pong and LARGE board games to the MASSIVE bar, everything one needs for a good time. Between all the fun try the unique menu. AWESOME

Me and a group of friends get together at Slate every few months, but this particular Friday, 9/22 was very disappointing. We started out with reservations for a party of 6 @ 6pm on the lower level, but the party grew to 8 and the waitress accommodated us, by pulling a bench from another table which our waitress said would not be an issue. An hour later one of the guys who clears tables kept harassing us to give up the bench, which we were clearly still using. Our waitress stepped in and got us other chairs to accommodate us again. We started off with drinks and appetizers and were having such a good time, we decided to extend our time and move upstairs to continue partying. We were told in order to go upstairs where there was a different DJ we would need bottle service to reserve a booth. I gave my credit card to another waitress to reserve the space but wanted to pay with my debit card (which is what the second waitress told me we could do). This is where the problem started. The waitress took my card and said she had to get "approval" from the manager. I waited for her while she was gone with both my credit and debit card to speak to the manager for a good 1/2 hour before she came back and said "my manager said ok, but you can only pay for one bottle with this debit card." I was first of all offended because at this point after we spent a few hundred dollars downstairs on drinks and appetizers and had to spend another minimum of $325 just to reserve a space to hang out together, I could not understand why I would not be allowed to order another bottle, which we did want to do that night. This issue just ruined what could have been a really good night, and we decided not to spend another dime. Also, the DJs both downstairs and upstairs did not have a large selection of cultural music (reggae, salsa), and that was disappointing.

Met a friend here before going to a show. The food was ok. The atmosphere was VERY loud that you couldn't hold a conversation. The service took a while as there was only one person working the area. Used to like this place back in the day before it was renovated.

I typically go here for an occasional hh cocktail after work. This week I took a client & a few coworkers out for apps & drinks and we had a great time. The upstairs was closed so we had a bench for 6 downstairs. The music is always loud & a private party next to us was equally loud but the energy is a big part of the vibe here. They do this 'may I hold your cc & license' thing when you 1st check in, which I thought was odd for a bar/restaurant vs table service @ a night club but whatever.

The music was great and the food service was good was a quick cheap meal but seating was horrible I had a reservation for 7 and they didn't have enough seats they sat me next to the dance floor and said how they couldn't give me anymore chairs and so two of my guest had to stand until we found some empty stools make sure before you go that your Gonna have proper seating if you plan to eat and drink.

I invited some co workers for a pre birthday happy hour. The food was ok, bar type stuff. The bartender could never find a balance between too strong and fruit juice only with the drinks. There was a small issue but the manager came over and was very gracious. The DJ and dancing was fun. There were raffles as well. My group had a good time. Definitely a party spot when the bartenders are happy.

There is a great band for Swing on Mondays with a very nice dance floor! The sliders were delicious. Service could of been better ; also check your bill as I believe they add the suggested 20% gratuity to the bill.

Made a reservation and showed up. No one was waiting for a table and we were told 20-25min when we arrive 5-min before our reservation. We said lets get a drink while we wait. Waited four deep at the bar and bartender was moving at a snail pace. We couldn't get a drink. Went back to the host to see how much longer and they told us people are playing games so no one is leaving and it could be another 30-for a table. So we left. This place looks fun but not many people are eating and people are slowly drinking so turnover is slow and reservation are pointless.

PLEASE confirm your reservation before going as my party CLEARLY had a confirmation email and number....and STILL, upon arriving, we were told there was no record of our reservation. Fortunately, they were still able to seat us. The drinks were great, the food was slightly above average.....someone in our party ordered a shrimp dish and the shrimp had NOT BEEN DEVEINED!!!!....so use caution if ordering shrimp. Our waitress was good, but I think she had too many tables to work at one time.....she was friendly and did her best to accommodate our requests.

Slate's always a good stop after work, with their drink specials and sports tables. The food is also reasonably priced and pretty good. The only drawback is the bad reception you get down there, but other than that there isn't much else to complain about.

Brought my staff here for dinner and drinks. We arrived between 5pm and 5:30pm and the place was generally empty at that time. We were given the option to sit almost anywhere we'd like, but some areas were reserved. Game tables were not open until hours later which was disappointing. We were seated and ordered food and drinks. No issues with the drinks and food was good. Chicken wings were good, nachos were ok, guacamole and chips was simple but ok, and burgers for dinner were good. Price was good too.

Slate is one of those rare finds that makes you want to go back. I had a birthday event there a few years ago that my best friend put together for me. It started off bad because we paid for a room and ended up downstairs at a small table. The guy who brokered the deal was to blame but long story short, we had to pay an exponential amount to get the room upstairs and after that everything went great. I went back to Slate to meet up with a friend I hadn't seen in a while and it was a great time. The food was really good and the ambiance was great for what we needed to discuss. However, the waiters kept disappearing and it wasn't that packed for them to be that absent that often so I was a bit annoyed by that. Aside from that, it was great.

After a lot of back and forth with hostesses at Slate my 8:30pm reservations were confirmed. When we arrive we are told by the bouncer we can't come in due to a private event. It was extremely inconvenient for everyone, it would have been easier for all if Slate just closed the venue altogether and cancelled my reservations but all the people I spoke with said it was confirmed and we would just need to wait to be seated due to the private event. I would never recommend any one to go to slate due to the poor service, miscommunication and poor planning I experienced With them.

Once we got our burgers we were satisfied with our choice to eat at Slate. But we had to wait at the bar for awhile before someone acknowledged us. There were only 2 other people sitting at the bar, and only about 10 people in the whole place at 7pm on a Saturday. The 3 bartenders didn't say "we'll be right with you" or something similar to acknowledge us and let us know they were busy. The burgers, caesar salad, and the chocolate chip cookie dessert were delicious!!

I was legitimately excited to go Slate for burgers and a drink or two. My wife and I went expecting high end burgers and a nice restaurant scene. We were led downstairs to what would appear to be a lounge area, which is aging leather chairs, many with large tears or exposed canvas surrounding tabletops that come up to your upper shin. The burgers were borderlin flavorless, the fries were soggy and worse than anything you'd get from Red Robin, and the Caesar Salad was basically chopped romaine with Kraft Caesar dressing. It felt like eating off a coffee table in an old, sad lounge. The waitress was nice, but overall, I would not recommend Slate.

This is not really a restaurant, It's a pool hall. I went there with a friend for dinner and we ended up leaving because they were going to serve us at couches and a coffee table. IT would have been fine if we were ordering bar food, but it was not a good spot for a sit down meal to catch up with friend. Nice pool hall though.

I came here with some girlfriends for a fun Saturday night out. It was pretty quiet and because the space is so large, it felt a bit empty. The food was upscale bar food - descent, but nothing special. Very reasonably priced. The only downside was that we made a reservation for 7:30, but the table had a $300 minimum beginning at 9. It would have been nice if OpenTable had made a note of that before we booked.

The beauty of going to a late-night place for brunch is that you get the upside of the soaring space with none of the drawbacks, like all the crowds and noise. We had a 4 hour brunch, attentive service, good food and the place to ourselves. What could be bad?
