The food was amazing as usual. We had the Imperial rolls, the Shaking Beef and the cotton candy. Wonderful evening!
Food was super. Real hot in the restaurant. Asked if they could lower temp. Waiter was ok. Rowed. Loud. But would go back again for sure for Spivey chicken and clay pot!
Good experience but very tourist environment. Definitely overrated.
Out of this world food unlike anything I have ever tasted
In from out of town. Food was outstanding. Super loud but part of the ambience. Would come back in a sec.
The food was tasty and well prepared. We especially enjoyed the lamb chops, shaking beef and stir fried chicken.
Our waiter was impatient and not helpful when I asked him for recommendations. I should have notified management about his lackluster service. We expect better from this fine S.F. restaurant.
Our out-of-town guests enjoyed their dinner but I will think twice about returning.
Expensive top end place-but worth it! Food was fabulous, service quick and friendly.
Excellent food, expensive, but worth every $$! Sevice pretty good. Very noisy but pleasant atmoshere. All over : outstanding!
Excellent restaurant all around. Food delicious. Enjoy sitting at the bar. Love sitting outside in good weather. When there this time no table service outside so sat inside by the window.
Great place for a work lunch or a dinner with friends. Food is very good and service was good as well. Definitely worth trying!
We had excellent service and an amazing lunch! Such a delightful experience!
Perfect as always.
For all the hype and the price point of this restaurant I expected a really wonderful and exceptional food experience. Sadly, i was disappointed. The food was good but no better than many good restaurants.
The service was very attentive.
Absolutely incredible. Can not recommend everything about this restaurant enough
We've been to Slanted Door many times, and always come away impressed with the presentation of the food, the ambience, and the flavors. Our only issue was the noise level, which made conversation difficult. We ordered one familiar dish, the claypot chicken, and two new-to-us dishes, Vietnamese crepes with shrimp and stir-fry shrimp with shisito peppers. Would highly recommend all three dishes.
Way too noisy and difficult to talk. Probably wouldn’t go back just for that reason. Otherwise food and service were very good.
Slanted Door is an institution in San Francisco and it does not disappoint. The food is incredible: crafted and plated perfectly, I always treasure my moments there!
We had been to Slanted Door before but thought perhaps the noise level would be fixed. Well, it was not and it was extremely noisy with other people practically sitting at our table. Extremely close. Choices of menu were limited. Beer was served in the wine glass! Really!!!!!! My Cosmo was in a nice glass but only filled half way. Not enough in the glass. Our service was good but I don't think we will ever go back again as for us it was too loud and hard to hear what our guests were saying. And, with over a bill of $200.00 we were only there for 1 hour! Never again.
Food is exceptional. Desserts are outstanding thanks to a brilliant pastry chef. Service is not good.
I eat here fairly often and bad service is the only negative.
Excellent lunch at Slanted Door. Food was original, tasty, thoughtful, and we'll put together. Our waiter was fantastic and the view of the water was beautiful. Really enjoyed every bite of the meal.
Everything we ordered was amazing - except for the most expensive dish, shaken beef, which was not exciting except for its price of over $40. Thin noodle w crab was exceptional. So was tofu - sounded boring in the menu but it was great. Cocktail made of mezcal w chili pepper was really interesting.
We had a 1:00 reservation, when we arrived the host clearly did not have a table and was waiting for one to open so really the only thing a reservation does it put you at the top of the wait list.
Then she was a bit impatient and told me our party would be seated as soon as she could
Finally we were told to stand somewhere out of the way.
This was not a courteous way to treat a party with a reservation. We were seated after 1:20pm.
will not return
We have been dining at the Slanted Door for several years and have always had a great meal and experience.
Dining at Slanted Door is Always a pleasure. The food is consistently excellent, and the service was great!
Very nice restaurant. Great ambience, pretty view of the water. Very good food.
Slanted Door never disappoints. We have eaten there every time we have traveled to San Francisco and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The food is interesting and innovation and delicious. Highly recommend.
Food made up for being seated a half hour past our reservation and the indifferent waiter who passed us on to another server
Server was horrible. Apathetic. Didn’t know what shaken beef was. Forgot to bring 2 dishes. Paul was not a happy waiter! Ruined the meal. Food we did receive was fine. Pricey and small portions. Won’t go back.
Yummy food every time! I am never disappointed and the service was terrific!
Something goofy going on here. I’ve been meeting friends here for lunch for the past 6 years and have always dined outside unless it was raining. Yesterday, one of the hottest days of the year and the outside was closed. I asked why and the said because it was too cold outside. Very disappointing. The inside is so loud you can’t have a conversation. We met friends from out-of-state we hadn’t seen for 7 years and the lunch was ruined because we couldn’t converse. Food was great!
Excellent food and service. It’s right on the water so you can watch the Ferries come in while you eat. Very busy place.
Wonderful location by the waterfront. Chic place with awesome food and service.
Jicama salad was outstanding.
Receptionist was very rude. We have a 7:40 Reservation and were seated at 8:05. She was very un-apologetic.
Amazing service, delicious food and great overall experience
Will come back
The food and ambiance was incredible. However, the hostess was quite rude and argues with me that I never made a reservation. As a Hawaiian with dark skin, the hostess was going to deny my business until another woman stepped up and pointed out that I did have a reservation.
Lunch was yummy. The squash side dish was fantastic. Loved the Crispy Imperial Rolls and the Grapefruit & Jicama Salad.
We were seated in some additional seating that was added near the bar area. Our server was slow to arrive and they could not decide who was covering our table. After a 20 minute wait order drink order was taken and our meal rolled forward. Ribs were yummy, hot hand towels are a plus. Clay pot chicken and bok choy way wonderful flavors. The loud scene cleared out by 8:30.
The food is exceptional favorable and everyone enjoyed it. We had five people and encouraged family style dining but the plates seemed to small to do that. They did a nice jim b of adding a piece here and there. But didn't bring enough dishes out at the same time. So you got a small bite of this then waited to get another small bite of that and so on and so one. Would have been better if they brought out half the dishes and then another half. Enjoyed our time good cocktails just might not be good for family style
