Slack’s Oyster House & Grill
Service was great , food was very good. Enjoyed it.
Always delicious. The 2 women bartenders are always so pleasant and efficient with service. Had the fried scallops, lump crab appetizer and a few other things. Great wine selection by the glass
The oyster selection was great! The server's knowledge of the menu was very helpful.
Surprisingly fair prices...dessert were above average size at a good price...
Down fall...lack of knowledge of gluten free..by server.
Beware of your allergies..ask questions..be diligent.
The service was fantastic and the food out of this world. Go hungry its large portions
I would recommend if you had lots of time to kill. We waited 15 min for server to offer us drinks. Waited another 20 for the drinks. We put order in for apps and dinner. Apps came in 20 minutes, dinner 15 min later. Waited for check, another 10 min-- then there was a mistake on the bill!! Another wait, LOL. Would come back, but only to sit at the bar for appetizers!
Food was excellent! I would highly recommend the oysters from Cape Cod and the scallops wrapped in bacon.
My filet was undercooked. I sent it back and it was still undercooked. I was not happy and unable to eat it. It was a 50.00 steak so very disappointed. The I feel like something should have been done. It was clear I was not happy. It’s a great atmosphere and everything else was good. Puts a damper on the night when it is your boyfriends birthday and can’t enjoy dinner. I go to plainridge a couple times a month. I’m hoping to have a better experience if I decide to go back.
Had baked stuff lobster one of the best I ever eaten.
Seeing as though this is the only fine dining restaurant I would suggest adding more food selections for people who do not eat fish
Overall both the food and the value were great. Neat setup...semi casual but semi upscale with fantastic food!
This was the first time I had dinner at Slack's and it was absolutely delicious. Karen, our waitress was very formative, attentive and friendly. I am definitely going back to have another delicious dinner.
One suggestion - is advertising. I don't think alot of people realize that you can access Slack's directly and not go through the casino. It would be helpful to do outside advertising and then also have signs when you are entering Plainridge that parking for Slack's is straight ahead or something to that effect. Just a thought.
Thanks again for a wonderful dining experience. And we both won money that night! Yahoo!
Lobster was terribly over cooked. Almost sent it back. Oysters were good, fresh and cold. Service was average even though it wasn’t busy.
My friend and I were pleasantly surprised. We weren't aware that this restaurant even existed. But we're so glad we found it !!! Everything about it was great... we made our reservation with ease on line, we were greeted by a welcoming host and shown to a table of our choice right away, the server brought us beverages immediately and the waitress arrived at our table after that. She explained some things on the menu and we ordered. Mary Lou was wonderful - pleasant, knowledgeable, friendly and very helpful. She is an excellent waitress !!! The food was delicious - I had the salmon and my friend had the lamb.
We'll be back very soon !!!!
have dined at slacks several times
have always found the service excellent and the food very good
Steak was incredible. Service was a bit slow but they were training so we will cut them some slack. Good drinks too.
Our waitress was excellent Food was delicious Portions were large.
Our meals were excellent and our server was very experienced. We did not want for anything. I had the seafood pie and my husband had the scallops
It was a nice relaxing meal inside the busy casino. We can't wait to return.
Waited way too long to get out meals.
Mary was awesome !! Food was perfect ! Ty for having my wine mosacsto dasti A lot of places don’t have it !
From beginning to end the food, service and attention was amazing. This is definitely a place for another visit. Great food, great service and a great value.
Wasn’t worth the money. Food is so so.
The prime rib was more like a sirloin steak.
Vegetables were mushy.
The food was awful....bread had a chemical smell, the dipping oil was cheap and doctored up with garlic, the Caesar salad was luke warm, leaves wilted and croutons far less than crunchy. It was as if it were prepared hours before. Then came the meal. Steak was raw. Lamb chops were all different sizes and undercooked. Beans were like mush. The arugula was wilted and get this...the chef decided to drizzle balsamic vinegar over everything on my plate including so called Colorado rack of Lamb. What high end restaurant chef does such a thing? Then, because things didn't go well, they comped me a piece of carrot cake....maybe the worst I've eaten...or actually didn't eat. It was so sickening sweet I spit it out. Server was a nice lady who had too many tables so everything came out slowly, even though it was not busy at all. Never again.
Place was empty but we waited for everything a little too long for my liking. 2nd time we have been there and most likely will not return. Food is good but an empty restaurant should take more time tending to the 3 tables that have people.
Waitress Mary was great and provided us with excellent service. The grass fed burger was delicious! Our guests also enjoyed the beet salad, mussels and sliders. All food was served in a timely fashion. The manager Babacar came to visit the table to make sure we were enjoying our meals. Definitely will be returning soon!
The food was amazing! Our waitress was SO nice & very accommodating..thank u we will be back !!!
This was not a good night for my wife and me at Slack’s. The staff and waiter were attentive and pleasant, the food not so good. My wife ordered shrimp cocktail and the shrimp was translucent and limp. I ordered the center cut filet but had to settle for the ny strip. The waiter advised that they didn’t have any filets. This evening the food was a disappointment and the value was not there.
The food at Slack’s is always excellent.
Great Filet and Salmon Oscar entrees!
Never skimpy with the crabmeat.
Unique Tequila Shrimp with FRESH pineapple.
Very good NE Clambake.
Cheryl, who has been there since the doors opened is a very professional, attentive Server.
A restaurant with top notch food deserves a more formal atmosphere, no high tops and some warmer lighting.
But this place is definitely a hidden jewel.!
Food was good and fun atmosphere.
We had a 7:30 reservation, it wasn't very busy and we did not receive our meals until 8:45. We had to remind the waitress to bring our drinks and she messed up the initial drink order which usually would not bother me but waiting for food and drinks, is quite frustrating.
Dinner on Saturday evening. Food is consistently above par, unfortunately this time the service was unprofessional, chaotic and thus disappointing. Because of the food, we'll give it another try.
Great restaurant for a night out. The food was delicious.
Your description Great venue
You should have said a diner could pay for the meal winning the slots.
Made reserv for anniversary, seated promptly. Was told we’d get a free piece of cake because our anniv
Waitress brought water said she’d b back
Ordered drinks & dinner came back w/1 drink and bread-butter & dipping oil
Came back much later with food and said sorry other drink was sitting at bar she’d b right back
We ate & drank and sat again for a lenghth of time when another person came by to collect our dishes & leave our bill
It started out beautifully when we first arrived then went down hill but I have to say the food was delicious
Not impressed with service or wait time
Slacks does a great job with their meat entrees. Unfortunately, it is often hit or miss for their seafood and pasta entrees. Today was no exception. For this meal, the "hits" were:
* Calamari Appetizer. not too greasy and the peppers added a nice kick
* Baked cod. a thick cod steak that was cooked throughout and tasty
* Fried Clams. As with the calemari, they were nicely done. last time they were WAY to GREASY.
The "miss's were"
* Scallop Parmesan. First time we have tried this dish. The entrée is actually more of a Scallop Casserole, with the scallops being served in a creamy white cheese sauce with a breadcrumb topping. that's fine, I would enjoy either (parmesan or caserole). The issue was that the entrée was served so hot, that the scallops were overcooked and rubbery by the time it was served.
* Creme Brulee. the custard was just too thick. We think that there was a missing ingredient - or overworked during the preparation. this has happened
Service was (and is always) great! thank you for making our meal more enjoyable.
Awesome! Great place!
Great food, service and atmosphere.
I ordered the NY Strip, was cooked to perfection and the cognac peppercorn sauce is my favorite. Great food and service, will definitely be back again!
Server Jay was exceptional. He was courteous and efficient.
