Sky Ratings and Reviews
Our annual holiday get-together at Sky was yet again a perfect kick-off to a wonderful holiday season! Our servers were fantastic-attentive and helpful! The food was fresh and scrumptious!! The atmosphere was elegant and perfect for our get-together. Thank you!
We discovered Sky six years ago when we moved to the area. However, It is worth the drive. The ambience is great for adults whether you want to sit at the bar, in the lounge or the restaurant. A great atmosphere for a date, special occasion, out with friends, group dinner, and great if you want to host an event in the function room. Definitely a nice experience and adequate pricing. Definitely recommend.
We have been a frequent patron of Sky for 20 years. In our opinion it has gone downhill greatly. The food is expensive, and okay, nothing special. I had swordfish came on top of slivers of zucchini. Seemed more like a garnish than a side dish! All for $29.00. My son, who's birthday it was, had steak tips and they were good, although the mashed potatoes were cold. My other son ordered the hamburger flat bread and gave them gluten free, and it was raw! They took that off our bill. Cocktails were great. Took too long to order and get food. Next time we will venture to 3 in Franklin. Much better....
Aside from a party in a private room we were the only ones there for lunch. Our service was fine, but the food was not. Four out of the five diners were not happy with the quality. Both the chicken parmesan and the grilled chicken were very dry, the eggplant was burnt and we could taste the powdered garlic used (surely the chef could find some fresh garlic?) Even the coffee was weak and cold. Needless to say we will not be back.
Ryan was our server and could't have been nicer and more attentive. The food was great as always and we have never had a bad meal here. We had the Chef's Board of cheese and meat, were served warm bread with butter and olive oil, before our entrees. I had the red wine braised short ribs and they more than delivered on tenderness and flavor. My wife of 35 years had the butternut squash filled ravioli and it was scrumptious and filling. My martini was prepared to perfection and my wife's Pinot Grigio was a perfect compliment to her entree. For desert, I had the Creme Brulee, which was as good as any I have ever had, and my wife had the glazed pears with ice cream which was delicious. 4.5 stars!
Sky is a nice looking restaurant but does need a bit of sprucing up. We were seated near the waterfall fountain which is an OK feature but a bit load and tiring after awhile.
The restaurant is pricey but it seems you are paying for the atmosphere.
The food was good but not great. The pecan chicken was ordered by two of our party of six and both liked it. Ravioli was good but with not enough sauce...
Our server and the rest of staff was nice but informal for this type of restaurant. More training needed I think. Also our wine glasses were not very clean. Again, you expect more for the prices. I would not rush back. Maybe try the bar area next time.
Sky is very pleasing to look at with a large wall of flowing water. The atmosphere is trendy, but very loud. There is a separate lounge/bar that I would have preferred to the main dining noise levels. The food is very good and well presented, but priced a bit high. The waitress was very friendly and efficient. However, since they tout themselves as a higher end establishment, in my oppinion, the service staff should not be wearing jeans. Overall it was a nice experience.
We loved sky sudbury (which closed a few years ago) and were delighted to discover sky norwood! Love the decor - we were greeted with a warm welcome & sat in the gorgeous bar area for a saturday lunch! Delicious food, good service and wonderful ambiance - we'll be back!
My company Siemens held a retirement farewell event cocktail dinner here. It was so classy and professional! I knew I had to bring my wife here for date night. Mission accomplished, the dining area was beautiful the water fountain was a great touch, blew us away when we saw it. Great service, great drinks and food! The only issue was a large party near our booth table that were quite loud
We went to Sky to celebrate our 49th anniversary.
We were seated and ordered our meal. Received wine and salad. Salad plates were taken away and we were told our entrees were on the way. After 25 minute wait and worried our fish dishes were sitting on the warming table we left. Proceeded to desk and asked for our check of what we consumed. Manger came and told us our dinners were on way. No one ever came by while we were patiently waiting.
Thanked him but believed our food was not in good condition.
Went home and order a pizza for our 49th anniversary. Definitely not what we planned on.
Very good food as always at Sky. Good service and a nice menu. The only weird thing is that on a Sunday night we were almost the only people in the restaurant. I do not know why it seems to have lost popularity. The steak tips were awesome as was the chopped garden salad. The chicken was just so-so. The spring roll serving was enormous.
Sky is okay but not great. The food is about the least you can do for this price range without ripping people off. The streak was more medium than medium-rare, which would be forgivable if it were busy. Since it wasn't, that subtracts a star. We got dessert to go, which came almost DIY with the whipped cream and chocolate sauce in their own containers. It turns out this is a fantastic decision and preserved taste and texture perfectly. That adds a star itself. If all of their to go food is packaged this thoughtfully, it would be a solid mid-range takeout option.
Arrived for our 7:30pm reservation a bit early, so we grabbed 2 seats at the bar for a pre-dinner cocktail. Bartenders were very friendly and helpful. One overheard my husband comment on one of the beers on tap that he was unfamiliar with and gave him a sample and explained where it came from. We then went into the main dining room, which was rather quiet for a Saturday night. Our server came over promptly and we ordered a bottle of wine. We noticed that there were only a few servers and they were hustling. Our server actually thanked us for ordering the wine so she could stop for a few minutes to open it. We had the chef's board (meats and cheeses) for an appetizer. It was the perfect size and delicious. For entrees, my husband had the peach and bourbon braised short ribs and I had the eggplant napoleon. He liked the short ribs a lot, but did not care for the side that came with it - a red bliss potato salad. They just didn't go together. Mine was superb and I wouldn't hesitate to order that again. Ambiance is very nice and staff certainly went above and beyond to make sure everything was great.
Interesting décor, broad menu, moderate prices. The food was very good - not excellent, but very good - bread was especially good. Service was OK, but little details were missing - clearing of small serving dishes, had to ask for more silverware, has to ask for coffee after the bill was presented (it was furnished at no charge). Our server was very friendly, but a but more polish would be the icing on the cake.
As ever, the bartenders were fantastic. Specialty drinks were well made and timely for our large group. The appetizers were good as usual and expected. Our group of 8 only chose three different dinners and all were excellent. The brussels sprouts with feta were excellent and shared by all.
Waiter was good, but you need to teach him about how to pour wine. He did not know how to set up the first pour tasting. We walked him through it. Then he emptied the bottle on glass number 5 with a very short pour. He opened the second bottle and poured it directly into the "taster's" glass on top of the tasting from bottle 1. He did not allow her to taste again. Then, he did not mitigate the short pour in glass number 5. The third bottle? I think I took care of that one.
Also, the wine menu needs an update. We ordered a 2012 cabernet and the three bottles delivered were all 2013.
The food is fair and overpriced. I ordered scallops and they came in small pieces--not one was whole--and were incredibly salty. And the fries were very overdone. My husband got the steak tips and said they were very chewy like they had been cooked and then reheated. We passed the 99 on the way home and both commented that we would have had a much better meal there and at a fraction of the cost. We were also the only people in the restaurant with the exception of two other tables over the 2-hour pweird we were there, so that's probably a sign.
