Great staff! Thank you for a lovely afternoon tea!
Unfortunately this was style over substance on this occasion - in all aspects. The service was very poor - we were left for ages to order a 2nd drink while we were eating, and could not find a waiter to order desserts, or a 3rd drink for quite some time. The lobster tail pasta was very disappointing - pasta was cold & tail was chewy. The dessert was supposed to be poached strawberries & champagne jelly - I don’t believe there was a strawberry in there. Not the best.
Your website indicates a strict dress code, and outlines there will be music played and food available. Our table was booked for 8:30pm, at which point the bar was crawling with overflow from the prior football match - the men were wearing shorts, t shirt and trainers, which is against the dress code and had clearly had enough drinks for the evenning, even by that point. The music was too loud for us to hear ourselves talk, let alone think. I would liken it more to a rave than a bar/restaurant. Not at any point were we asked for a food order, and even if we were, it would have been out of place given the volume of music and people that were in the bar at that time. We stayed for one drink and left. I expect much better from The Hilton hotels and chain and this was a very unpleasant and unwanted experience.
Lovely afternoon everyone enjoyed it especially the birthday girl
Booked a table for Saturday 29th June for friends that were visiting from Scotland. Once seated we sat for about 20 mins before I had to ask someone to take our drinks order. Tables were being served around us but I could get so much as a glance by any of the staff. After 10 mins waiting for our drinks I had to chase our order up. We only stayed for one drink as we didn’t want to wait for the next set of drinks. Also there was little to no toilet roll in the ladies toilets. Very disappointed with the service. And quite embarrassed that my friends had to experience this. I don’t think I will ever visit the sky lounge again!!!!
Off milk given with tea pot. When brought to staff’s attention she replaced the milk and cups leaving us with a half empty and cold pot. Bread was partially stale and scones not warm and fresh.
Afternoon tea with the smallest amount of food I have ever seen. Poor value for money which is a shame as the staff service and location are excellent.
Birthday afternoon tea - excellent
Place with a very good view to the city of Leeds. Not that cheap, but it's worth to visit of you're in Leeds.
We came for an afternoon tea midweek which was very quiet and relaxing. The waitress was fantastic, genuinely friendly and helpful and accommodated our changes to menu options. Lovely atmosphere and furniture.
Only put a 1 for the food due to the fact we didn’t eat, but I had to rate it.
We booked for an Afternoon Tea on Open Table. On the day, we realised that the reservation email mentioned that afternoon teas after 6PM needed to be booked in advance so we called an hour before the booking and the front desk advised that it would be no trouble. On arrival, the host mentioned that it was past 5 and Afternoon Teas were not normally done but seated us to find out if it was possible. Thankfully, as we were celebrating a birthday, it was possible and we enjoyed a very lovely afternoon tea. We took advantage of the Happy Hour Prosecco to accompany our tasty afternoon treats. A lovely experience, although it would have been nice to have an an area to change my 4 month old girl that wasn't an unlocked conference room that I had to sneak into.
Very pricy for what you get. Didn't get offered tea with the afternoon" tea" Had a iced cocktail shot instead. Portion sizes very measly. Left there to get something else to eat. Views ok. Possibly better on a evening.
Menu had completed changed from when I booked, had I know this would not have booked. Took my daughter for 12th B’day treat, initially good service, but then got order wrong & we had our afternoon tea 10mins before we got our drink of tea and that was only because I asked! Massively over priced. In hindsight I think this venue is great for cocktail/drinks with friends but definitely not for afternoon tea, much better options available (both food & price wise!).
Excellent service and fantastic friendly staff. Couldn’t ask for a nicer way to have afternoon tea with the ladies
Excellent afternoon tea with friends. Excellent service from staff, attentive but not intrusive. Good selection sanndwiches and cakes. Option of prosecco with your food. Comfortable seating and a joy to be able to hold a conversation without loud music.
Went to sky lounge for my birthday the staff were lovely and looked very presentable
They told us to sit wherever we like so we chose to sit outside with the amazing view, one of the staff came handed out there drinks menu and the service was actually fast
I would visit there again hopefully bring all my lovely’s friends :) x
We booked procesco afternoon tea however we didn't get any procesco and had to pay extra for the glass of Diet Coke one of the diners asked for instead of a warm drink
We weren't bothered about the wine as none of the diners wanted it anyway but the fact we weren't offered any despite the afternoon tea saying procesco was included and having then to pay extra for the Diet Coke when this was asked for instead of the warm drink as she doesn't drink tea or coffee I think was a bit much
Way overpriced. The vibe was not what I expected I thought it would be chilled with maybe piano music but it was like a childs disco. We booked and were told there would be table service but we gave up after half an hour and left. Over hyped.
Meal turned out not to be in the Lock and not the sky lounge so the views sold to us didn't exist. Food good, service appalling. Took 45 minutes for a bowl of olives to arrive and that was after being chased. The fastest thing to arrive was the bill (1 minute) - which says it all I think.
lovely view - we were very lucky with the weather, staff were really friendly and helpful.
Very very disappointed. The afternoon tea with prosecco was a present for my birthday. They totally wasted their money. The food tasted okay, was presented well but there was not enough to fill a mouse. The sandwiches were minute, the cakes the size of a large cube of sugar - We deliberately starved ourselves so we could enjoy the food and eat it all up. We left still hungry and needed a meal when we arrived home.
We understood that it was limitless prosecco in the 90 minutes allowed to eat the tea. We were served a glass each when we arrived. No one came to ask if we wanted another glass and eventually I managed to get the attention of a waitress. It took at least 10 minutes for the second glass to arrive.
It was a lovely evening sat outside on the terrace and we were happy to stay for a while after finishing eating.
As it was my birthday treat I asked for another glass of prosecco and a coffee for my husband.
When it was time to leave (before the 90 minutes allowed) I called into the ladies then met my husband by the lift then headed for home.
I could not believe it when he told me he had been charged £10.50 as we had extra prosecco. What a rip off, had I known whilst still there I would have complained to the manager.
I had been really looking forward to this - what a disappointment, we should have just called at a garden centre!!
Spent a fantastic afternoon in the Sky Lounge having Afternoon Tea for our Anniversary. Sat out on the terrace in the sun with spectacular views over Leeds and the canal below.
The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. Didn't feel rushed, extra tea on request.
The Afternoon Tea was tasty, but we felt that we would have preferred more savoury sandwiches, seemed to be more sweet cakes and pastries.
Booked as a surprise for my Mum, the afternoon tea was lovely. View amazing, made better by the weather. Staff very friendly and contientiuous. A great afternoon
After a slow start,(we had to ask after being seated for 20 mins for someone to come take our food and drinks order) we had a very nice time. A minor problem with my sandwich on the afternoon tea but it was rectified quickly and as it was our anniversary we was given a discount on our bill to make up for the errors so alls well that ends well. Lovely place great atmosphere would definitely go again.
Had a lovely anniversary celebration. Very well organised and no complaints at all. We were made very comfortable and relaxed for a couple of hours without any issues. Will definitely will be back. Our daughter studying in Leeds was impressed also and no doubt will be visiting again with her friends also.
Manager was very obliging and informative.
Afternoon Tea - small portions and not fresh bread
Table booked for 4pm, not ready when we arrived got seated at 4:30pm. Everything was very slow.
Shocking afternoon tea ..overpriced
Good cocktails though
Absolutely lovely ambience, really good service. Was a very pleasant experience.
We went here for afternoon tea, we found the staff to be friendly and helpful, the restaurant itself has outstanding views and the afternoon tea was lovely.
Definitely one to try
We booked the afternoon tea for a late mother’s day for my mum and two daughters. When we arrived we were shown to a table in the dark corner of the room I asked if we could move to closer to the window so we had some light but all tables were reserved so this wasn’t a great start. When a table cleared near the window area we asked if could move to that table which we were able to. The first guy that came to serve us had a problem with customer service you could tell he was there to get on with his job. We then had a young girls serving us who was very helpful and kept topping our teas and coffees up. When the afternoon tea arrived we were a little diflated as we had all purposely not eaten that day to enjoy the afternoon tea. Everything was a miniature of a miniature! The food comprised of a quarter of a wrap two tiny bland sandwiches which was a quarter of a sandwich. One was a cheese and pickle the other beef which was very fatty. The desserts consisted of miniature apple crumble. Brownie and carrot cake all the size of a dairy milk chocolate then a shot glass of mousse which you had to use your finger to get it out as the spoons were far too big to get to the bottom. There was a small scone with a very small pot of ham and cream to share for two people. This was a failure of afternoon teas in our eyes most people there paid by groupon voucher which we paid full price of £20pp if you put the whole of the food give it would of easily fit on a sandwich plate. We are not big eaters at all but When we left my mum went for a Sunday Cavery and me and my daughters made tea soon as we got home. Very expensive for what it was but I suppose you pay for the surroundings and not the food in this case. I love the sky lounge for cocktails and drinks but certainly won’t be back for afternoon tea!
The bar is exceptionally classy but the whole evening was made by the staff and one bartender in particular (Cyro Young )..
Cyro went above and beyond to make mine and my partners night a night to remember from recommending drinks, marking drinks that cater to our tastes and even table service.
Me and my partner can't thank him enough and will definitely be back... 10/10 for manners, technical skills and table service
Thank you Cyro.
Billy Bloomfield & Lucie sterland.
Five of us enjoyed our afternoon tea, the girl who served us was lovely. The food was tasty and varied. Prosecco nice and dry. Handy location.
My daughter bought a groupon voucher for afternoon tea for my birthday , I wouldn't recommend it , the food was quite poor and we weren't told we had limited procecco so ended up paying £10 on top . We only had 4 glasses in total between the 2 of us anyway .
There are far better places for afternoon tea and at half the price , very disappointed 😔
We had a great time and were impressed with the food and service, friendly and helpful staff.
Brought a friend for afternoon tea. She’d never been before and has a severe tomato allergy. When I told them this they prepared her her own tea stand so she could eat everything with total confidence. We upgraded to unlimited Prosecco and finished with a delicious raspberry mojito. Glad to see you’re doing your bit for the environment with paper straws, even if they didn’t last the full drink
Great staff, lovely place. The sandwiches made from brown bread were stale.
Visited for drinks, lounge very busy, but good service, staff friendly and attentive, great atmosphere and views.
Make sure you have deep pockets and are not very hungry!
