Skipjack's Foxboro Ratings and Reviews
Skipjacks is the best seafood in Boston (just south of Boston)
Management is top shelf and the team members work hard to make your experience the best it can be. Gillian did a terrific job on a very busy afternoon.
The food including clam chowder, sea bass and sushi are some of the best of any restaurant in the city.
I have had very good experiences dining at Skipjack's in the past. This visit just wasn't very good, at all. I'm not sure if it was just an "off" night at the restaurant but everything was off - the food, service, order accuracy... everything. I usually enjoy coming here but this time around was just disappointing. I don't think will be one of my area faves any longer :(
our food was fine, although nothing special (and our orders were pretty standard fare). my date was unhappy with her desert , which the server noticed and offered to take it off the bill, an offer which we appreciated. Overall I'd say Skipjack's is OK, but nothing special and on the pricey side and I wouldn't go out of my way to eat there.
Skipjacks is a tried and true favorite. The fish is always fresh and I like how they put their spin on some of the classic dishes. My wife doesn't eat fish and she has no problem finding another option. They have a decent wine list too. We were there for a holiday gathering and the noise level was low which allowed our group of 7 to talk across the table without any issues. Service was polite and unobtrusive. It's too bad they closed the Newton location but I would return to Foxboro in a heartbeat.
Skipjacks is a regular family destination for us. The food is always delicious and our kids really enjoy the offerings from the kids menu as well as their bread...in fact my son's eyes, who is a "bread head" like his dad, light up when we say we're going there. The dirty vodka martinis are a staple for my wife and I and are particularly good because they come with hand stuffed olives, stuffed right at the bar which really makes the drink. That said, I have to say that I was greatly disappointed that they had recently taken the Wedge Salad off the menu! I've enjoyed this simple, light and delicious salad for years there and was surprised it was removed! It was replaced with a nice arugula based salad but was not, in my opinion, as enjoyable as the wedge. I hope they bring it back at some point!
Be Prepared to spend your night there. The service is sooo slow. Even our drinks were significantly delayed. It was a Thursday night - not even the weekend. The wait staff is friendly, but the service is painfully slow. They try to apologize by offering free dessert, but who wants to stay even longer! It was more than an hour to get our food from the time we ordered it. I was ready to have them pack it to go!
Quiet dinner celebrating my mom's birthday. Our server, Kayla, was very accommodating when I told her my mom had a hard time hearing. She also asked me if we wanted anything special for dessert to celebrate the birthday. Food was excellent.we all had some type of fish and shared calamari for an app. Also shared the key lime pie between the three of us and it was more than enough. I wish it was in a different location so the parking was closer to the restaurant and we didn't have to work around the events and potential traffic at Gillette.
Quality has slipped. We've dined here several times before events but last Saturday was fair at best. The waiter was new and very clumsy, he hadn't quite gotten the hang of it yet. But the food was underwhelming. The calamari wasn't crisp enough, the mussels on the cold side and the sushi bento boxes my kids had looked to have been pre-prepped. Overall it was very disappointing.
