Skipjack's Foxboro Ratings and Reviews
Everthing was top notch. We had a person in a wheelchair and they went out of their way to make us comfortable. The manager, Peter, came over a number of times to make sure everything was ok. I will definitely go back, even when we are not attending an event at Patriot Place.
My family of four had a reservation for Fathers Day Brunch at 12:15. The overall experience was great, our food was delicious, server was attentive and quick and the restaurant itself was beautiful and very clean and inviting. My only draw back was the severely rude Maitre D or Host when you walk in, I wish I would of caught his name. Very snappy, doesn't let you complete a sentence and after watching him for 20 minutes or so there would be no way I'd have him the face of my restaurant. He would look people up and down and was not nice to deal with at all!!
We've been going to Skipjack's for years, at various locations. It had been quite a while, and we were in the area, so we decided to try the PP location. We arrived early for our reservation, and were seated early by friendly host staff.
I had the coconut shrimp as an appetizer, which was good. My partner had the blackened tuna sashimi -- the fish was good, but the "blackened" part tasted of ash, not herbed blackened crust. I had specifically asked about another dish, and how spicy it was, making a point that I wanted to avoid heat.
For dinner, my partner had a halibut special over asian vegetables, and I ordered the barbecued scallops. The halibut was slightly overcooked, but the vegetables were exceptionally good. The barbecued scallops were spicy -- and when I say spicy, I mean that my partner, who likes hot spices, took one bite and was overwhelmed by the heat. As a "barbecued" dish with mashed potatoes and onion strings, I expected a mild, barbecue flavor. If the dish had any barbecue flavor at all, I wasn't able to detect it in the one bite of scallop that I had -- my mouth was on fire.
I sent back the scallops, and my mouth was burning so painfully, I just asked for some cold seaweed salad. It was fine -- not quite enough sesame oil for me to rave about (I love seaweed salad), and it could have been a little sweeter with a bit more acid, but it was good, and soothed my mouth a bit.
I was surprised that the manager didn't come over to talk with us. The restaurant was by no means full, and while our server was apologetic, I simply didn't feel cared about as a customer who'd had a bad enough experience that she'd sent back her dinner. We decided to skip dessert and coffee, and just made tracks out of there, and grabbed a couple of truffles at Godiva next door.
Food was excellent but do not expect large portions . Had to ask for more bread. Server was very friendly and did a nice job Hostess bland and seated us in a corner booth next to the dish rack and exit door even though there were plenty of empty booths / tables in nicer spots.
For the first time after many visits, both the atmosphere and one of the entrees were a disappointment. With a reservation made several days in advance, we were seated at a tiny table for two, sandwiched between two large parties. The noise level in that spot made it impossible to enjoy any conversation.
The monkfish special did not live up to expectation based on waitress's description. The consistency was somewhat stringy. The risotto, thankfully, was as delicious as always.
My Ginger Sea Bass was excellent (it almost always is), but my husband's scallops were very bland. Overall, this restaurant has gotten way too pricey, and I'm not sure why. Entrees seemed to be out of line with most similar restaurants, and per glass wine prices were equally inflated. Not sure we'll be headed back any time soon.
Latkees, lox and eggs... hmm mat be next time put more then the spec of lox in a .. what was it a $13 dish? basically it was eggs with very little lox and flat tater tots.. two of us had the same fish while other two had something else. All four agreed no return....,
Oh yes turn the volume down on the band.... but the service was very good...
Went on a late Saturday afternoon for a late lunch/early dinner. Service was great. Ordered calamari for an appetizer - -excellent. I ordered the $25 lobster roll - -excellent . My wife ordered the $23 seafood taco- -just okay. One of the problems was the portion was an appetizer size - -2 small tacos with the fish inside slightly larger than a breakfast sized sausage. I have got appetizers that were bigger. You should either give a few more tacos or reduce the price.
This was my second time going to Skipjacks for my anniversary and yet again they did NOT disappoint. The food was divine and the service was impeccable! The head chef even extended some free champagne as an anniversary gift, which was sublime. Great menu for special occasions or even a casual lunch with friends. Skipjacks has it all and will leave a pristine impression every time.
Skipjack's is a nice restaurant. It's not exceptional; it's nice. It has TVs. The food is good (the rolls delicious). They offer some interesting drinks which are made well. We asked for a quiet table so were tucked in a corner but still able to see the hubbub of the place. Our waitress was very accommodating and helpful. However, one of our main meal orders was incorrect. After learning that the wrong one hadn't been grabbed from the kitchen and that one of our party would have to wait for her meal to be cooked while we ate, that party member kept the dish. (It was the same fish, cooked differently.) The manager came over to see if all was well. When the bill came, the more expensive charge of the incorrect meal was on the tab. After asking not to have to pay the difference, the total amount of the meal was taken off. Management should have offered some compensation initially.
i went there for a late business meeting. The service was great. the food was even better! We ordered mussels as an appetizer and they were plentiful. The sauce was outstanding! I also ordered the Sea Bass which was cooked perfect and the flavor was very good. Well worth the money and trip!
Good place for delicious fish and a variety to choose from. We enjoyed the clam chowder and clams casino as appetizers. The cocktails were good too. The cocktail menu is interesting with a variety of choices. We had crab cakes and the Skipjacks combo for the main meal. Fish was prepared well, tender and moist. Would recommend both.
We love good seafood and thought Skipjacks would be a great dinner spot prior to the movies. Service was cordial but food and ambiance were lacking. As friends were to join us, we were given a booth in the back but it was so dark we needed to depend on our phones to illuminate the menus. Orderd coconut shrimp and calamari as appetizer. Shrimp was so overlooked, it was dead. Sauce saved it a bit. Calamari par. One ordered the bento box and when asked to substitute eel for tuna, we were charged extra dollar even though tuna is more expensive than eel on sushi menu. Wine was not great. Very nice waiter who checked in regularly with us was only salvation.
if wanting a nice meal before a movie, we would suggest someplace else in the complex.
Skipjack's is my family's favorite seafood place. The seafood is always fresh and the service is consistently very good. I would recommend the sea minestrone and pretty much any of the fresh fish options - I prefer them prepared "Skipjack's style", but to each their own!
This was a special day, My Son was in the Div 1 HS super bowl game. We were well served by the attentive yet, easy staff. We were able to enjoy the AWESOME fish tacos and chowders as an opening to an amazing day. We were served but not rushed by this excellent staff. the taste and texture of the food was well worth the moderate price. It was a heavenly time at the restaurant. I wish there were more locations to enjoy their excellent fare at.
rather than hand me my cocktail, the bartender chose to take care of 3 takeout orders while chatting it up w/customers.....who are NOT tipping. 2 more orders and he finally shucked my 2 oysters and 2 clams. kit took me less than 5 minutes to eat and drink, although i was there 30 minutes on my lunch break.
The best part of brunch was the entertainment by group Geo's Trio.
The food was so so and though ordering hash and eggs, it came out just warm. Wife had a seafood salad that was good but boring.
Nice touch by offering either a Bloody Mary or a mimosa for $1.00 with entree.
They also offer beignets which were good but not very warm.
There was a large group there for a baby shower and at times, it was actually hard to hear the music.
Service was very good but they definitely need to upgrade the quality of the food!!!
