Skipjack's Foxboro Ratings and Reviews
Cheerfully greeted by the seating hostesses and offered table or booth seating. The sleek, modern high-ceiling design is warmed by proper lighting and subdued colors. The food does not disappoint! All four of us became members of the clean plate club. Highly recommend the chilean sea bass and lobster salad roll! Our server was somewhat glib, misquoted a high-end scotch price to one of our party, reapproached our table twice to confirm our cocktail order and brought the incorrect side dish to one diner. With that said, our overall experience was very good. We highly recommend Skipjack's! Great pre-Showcase Live dining spot!
My husband and I have both really enjoyed Skipjacks every time we have gone. I've gone alone to sit at the sushi bar. My husband and I have gone to celebrate special occassions. And I even took my niece and nephew recently for lunch. It's got the appearance of an upscale restaurant, but it's not the least bit stuffy. Everyone we have ever encountered has been nothing but polite and friendly. Never overbearing. Skipjacks has definitely become a favorite of ours and we are so happy to have them in Foxboro.
Service was phenominal. Restaurant was pretty empty. VERY disappointed with the food. I expected much better. While the presentation was quite nice, everyone complained that their entrees were bland. Salad was good and soups were just OK. Very expensive considering the quality of the food but price commensurates with location, I guess. Likely will not return.
My wife and I have a seafood dinner at least once a week. This is the first time we had been to Skipjack's and I must say the crab cakes were excellent and the peppered swordfish I had was one of the best serving I have ever had. Service was very good. I will definitely be eating at Skipjack's again.
The restaurant was great. We scheduled a late reservation for a Saturday. We showed up a littler early and the sat us right away. The waitress was fantastic and the food was good. We had three courses. The chowder, a salad and and entree each. We also each had a drink from the bar.
I had the mahi mahi and my wife had the scrod. Everything came out cooked perfectly.
Went with family for Hubbys b-day, also brought Mom in law...food was fantastic, light perfectly prepared, served hot and in a timely manner, they paid extra attention to my little ones, getting them lots of paper so they could color, and never letting their lemonades get below half empty. The waitress was excellent, and although the restaurant was quite busy....she made it seem like we were her only table.
THE EXPERIENCE, AS WELL AS THE FOOD, WAS GOOD BUT NOT EXCEPTIONAL. SERVICE WAS STANDARD, BUT STAFF AND MANAGEMENT WERE UNWILLING TO ALLOW US TO ORDER OUTSIDE OF THE BRUNCH MENU, WHICH WAS RATHER LIMITED AND NOT THE MENU WE HAD PREVIEWED ONLINE BEFORE ARRIVING AT THE RESTAURANT. THOUGH OUR SERVER WAS NOT VERY BUSY, SHE MADE A FEW ERRORS WITH OUR ORDER AND MY MEAL NEEDED TO BE PREPARED AGAIN. THE MANAGEMENT DID COME TO THE TABLE AND APOLOGIZE FOR THE INCONVENIENCE. I MAY RETURN AGAIN, BUT WOULD NOT NECESSARILY RECOMMEND THE RESTAURANT TO OTHERS.
The food was very good. The ambiance and service were not. First we were seated by the kitchen, but we asked to move. At that point, we were seated near windows, not much better. This occured even though they were told we were celebrating a special occasion and other tables were available. One order did not have the correct side with the order, which had to be corrected. Expected far better seating and service.
The food was excellent, but our waiter made the evening fun. From his wine suggestion, to his general demeanor, he was wonderful. You don't often find people who truly understand what "great service" really is, but Mark nailed it. He actually went and ran out to find a patron that had left his wallet on his seat. Most people would have put it at the front desk and not given it another thought.
The wine and meal were superb and we would absolutely go back again... hopefully the other staff is as good as Mark.
I went there with my husband for his birthday. He ordered two lobsters, so our bill was quite expensive. But the quality of the food and service was great! We went at 5pm, so it was kind of quiet, but i would think that when the place gets busier, it would definitely be a "hot spot" for the night life. Yet it was romantic all at the same time! I also loved the decor...the light fixtures were neat.
Party of 4, Dined at 5 pm ( only other availability was 9pm) atmosphere is good and surprisingly crowded at that time of day. Bucket of fish appetizer was well liked by our friends. Our meals were good... but not fantastic (trout , sea bass, cioppino) . Bottled wine selection was pricey and not to our liking so we selected the Liberty School cab (26.00) for a carafe, described as approx 3 glasses (we can buy a bottle locally for 12.00) . Shared one dessert (profiterole) which was tasty and large enough for each of us to have a few bites and not too much guilt. Waitstaff ; attentive and pleasant. Overall good, but not worthy of the bill 200.00+ before tip. We would be in search of a better value before we would return here.
Very disappointing. We had heard good things about Skipjack's Newton, but Patriot Place was not what we expected. The food in general was very bland and the portions were tiny. The R.I.Calimari had no flavor. The Caesar salad had very little dressing and it was tasteless. The grilled swordfish was good but we expected a larger and thicker piece. The ginger sea bass was also good but incredibly small served on a large bed of vegies and a huge ball of steamed rice. Service was quick but the server wasn't very helpful and not professional at all. We won't be going back.
The food was quite good, the waiter very nice, but we had to wait quite a while between the time we ordered and the time we got our food. We also all left with empty water glasses because they did not regularly fill them up. The whipped cheesecake was very boring, and tasteless. The key lime pie was quite good.
This was a great choice for our business dinner. Service was prompt, attentive without being intrusive. The Ginger Atlantic Sea Bass got a rave review from the foodie in the group. The lobster was prepared well and even the steak in the surf & turf got high praise. Overall a great time, we'll be coming back in the future.
Met friends on a Sunday evening we hadn't seen in a year. Looking forward to to a nice evening catching up with good friends. We got a booth which was cozy, sushi was great as appetizer and seafood dinners were ok. I got the barbeque scallops, which were not that great. Sea bass, swordfish were excellent. There were no salt and pepper shakers? Waiter complained about that. Service could have been better if they had more wait staff working.
We very much enjoyed our dinner. Our server was wonderful - helpful, personable and prompt. Unfortunately the dishwashing staff wasn't backing her up. I ordered twin lobsters, but the little lobster forks so essential to getting the meat out of the shell were unavailable until halfway through the meal because they had not been washed yet. After dinner we ordered coffee and tea, only to find that teaspoons were unavailable for the same reason. We were left to try to stir the sugar in small teacups with large soup spoons. Other than these flatware issues we were very happy with the restaurant. The food was great.
