Fried Chicken Thigh
Awesome brunch meal with great service and music playing!
The kale Caesar is quite delicious, the ultimate grilled cheese with chicken thigh hit the spot, and the bacon and cheese cavatappi had good flavors. We were hoping to try the dinner special, pork chop, but they were out with no substitution. We had to ask a couple times for a beverage and for a refill.
Don't get me wrong, the food quality and service is good. The food is tasty, but is it incredible and memorable? Not quite there yet.
Look, it's good food for brunch in Capitol Hill. Do I really need to sell it to you?
We ate with a friend who was in from out of town. We made a reservation for 6:30 and arrived a few minutes late. While driving to the restaurant we received a call that we needed to be seated by 6:45 as their kitchen closed at 7. I had the kale Caesar with added chicken. The salad portion was good but the chicken was over cooked, cold and dry. My husbands fried chicken was the same. Our friends hamburger was also over cooked. The best food was the French fries. We ate our dinner and were told before we finished our beverages that they were closing and we needed to go. Wouldn’t recommend this restaurant for dinner unless you want to eat really early. They obviously gave us chicken that had been cooked long ago. We had eaten here pre pandemic and food was much better. Waiter was kind to my husband who has a disability and uses a Walker.
They were busy but the service was excellent and the food arrived very fast. Would highly recommend.
Food is amazing as always. It’s a bit crowded so make sure to make a reservation before going to avoid long waits.
This place is amazing. The staff is so welcoming and everyone there seemed to care about each other and worked well together. I was able to observe them. The ambience was refreshing with plenty of open and table divided nicely for social distancing and a sense of privacy for conversations. The food was totally delicious. My friend enjoyed a beautiful and well made Cobb Salad and I had the Griddle Cakes with lemon butter, strawberries and a totally delicious and decadent BACON JAM, which I requested instead of syrup. IT does not matter what you order at Skillet Diner... it all looks good, but be sure to order the fabulous bacon jam. You will be glad that you did.
All in all it was a great dining experience for a Saturday holiday brunch. We will return, although we must drive 30 miles one way to get there !!!
Menu choice not very diverse after covid. No shrimp & grits, country fried steak or pork belly. Servers rushing to get people out the door to fill seats. Disappointing
Amazing diner food in Seattle. Best breakfast
First day of full service. A bit bumpy and a bit of tension - but they’ll adjust.
Great fast service! Food was great! Wish the orange juice was fresh though.
Always amazing food! Best mimosa pitcher in Seattle! Staff is always so fun, on top of customer service and they have THE BEST jalapeño aioli anywhere!! Avocado breakfast burrito is my favorite!
Amazing. Caramelized pineapple Bellini all the way!!!
Great place. Take clients here all the time for breakfast. Service and food are always good and very reasonable prices.
The pre-made waffle batter was a let-down. While we were expecting fresh OJ, the store purchased juice just let us know not to expect much. It was a place to eat—- not much more unfortunately.
The service was great, the food was even better. Overall a great experience. I got the Chub with the fried chicken. The fried chicken was juicy and tasty and paired perfectly with the sandwich.
Very cool atmosphere. Fantastic food and great service! We will definitely go back next time we are in Seattle
Yummy food and great service! We had the pancakes, eggs your way and the grilled cheese with chicken
Great atmosphere. Service was excellent. Food was amazing and tasty!
First time in Seattle and this was highly recommended by a friend. Did not disappoint. Great food and service! Will eat here again the next time we visit.
Well planned menu. We had breakfast and all dishes were fresh and delicious. "Mike's"breakfast 3 eggs and fried chicken thigh on brioche toast with arugula a must order. Overall a wonderful find in a neighborhood setting. Covid cautious serving too.
Great outside seating! Would come back and loved the chicken sanmy!
Wow. This place was a gem to find! The food and service was top notch. The Chub sandwich with the added fried chicken was to die for ( I can’t image anyone orders it plain without the fried chicken) and the flavors go together seamlessly. Not typically a huge Kale fan but the Kale Caesar salad I ordered on the side was also amazing. Every order the server passed by us for another table also looked delicious and could have been featured on a cooking show contest with impeccable presentation. Will return again and again!
I had the fried chicken breakfast burrito, which was delicous. Friendly service and cute neighborhood.
The serving size is generous and delicious. Servers are attentive to your needs.
The food was very good. We arrived early and were able to get seated. It is a very happening place to eat and recommend it for casual dining.
Amazing Food and great service. we tried the chicken and waffle along with the Nashville Sammy. food was delicious
Captains flight and the Chub, can't be beat! Amazing food, great service, great drinks.
Closed outdoor tents kinda defeat the purpose of outdoor dining. Everything was wonderful otherwise.
We had a great 1st lunch in Seattle on what became an amazing weekend trip.
Covid protocols were being followed, the food was amazing and the service was great!
Nice to be back in a restaurant - Skillet managed it all very well (no surprise there!).
The service was great but the food was ok at best. It could be because I am vegetarian but the person that serviced us was wonderful.
I ordered the Nashville hot chicken with jalapeño aloi-it’s so good. Staff was very friendly and efficient as well.
Super friendly and helpful staff, good food, on the street parking.
It was my first visit to Skillet! Will be back very soon! The food was delicious. Marcos was my server and Simone was the hostess! Both were spectacular at making sure I truly enjoyed my meal.
Our server was really nice (I didn’t catch their name but they were wearing bright pink sneakers at 5pm on 05/10) and very patient with us. The food was really tasty! Would dine here again!
Our server was so patient and accommodating! We loved everything except the grilled cheese was a little too kid-friendly for an adult. Child have used some tastier bread and greens or spicy sauce.
Great! Only issue was dealing with pandemic regulations, but staff made it very comfortable and pleasant! Always a winner.
I made reservations for breakfast based on that recommendation on their website. We arrived at our reservation time and were immediately seated. Our server was very friendly & provided quick service. We ordered our drinks (coffee & milk) and then ordered our breakfast - Pancakes (which came with four thick pancakes with strawberries on top) + Chicken & Waffles with a side of potatoes.
I absolutely loved the chicken - it was delicious. The waffle was good too but I was so focused on eating my chicken. I didn't even get to the potatoes so I took those to-go with the rest of my waffle. My husband could not finish his pancakes as they were very big and good he said. Great portion sizes and I'd definitely recommend.
Birthday celebration for brunch
