Outstanding ambiance and view - I chose the extended tasting menu option and I was not disappointed. Every course was amazing! The chef also kindly produced a special dish for myself and other patrons who were dining at the time - seared foie gras, a delicacy. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a special night out.
It's a really great experience!
The restaurant is fantastic, but know that price is the determining factor hands down on going here. A simple breakfast was over $100 for 2. Do not mistake me, the service, the ambiance, the decor and certainly the location are all amazing, but this is not for everyone. We decided to try it instead of some other entertainment options that could have cost about the same. So if you are totally able to do up-up-up scale, go for it! Want to blow the budget and treat yourself, go for it! I will say I loved it but that was a one time deal until I can afford something like that regularly.
A superb evening with excellent food and fantastic service... an explosive tasting with every dish
What you get for the high prices isn't really worth it. I ordered the avacado toast with salmon and half the toast was burnt black. Told the waiter and nothing was done to send out a new one or apologize. My spouse had eggs Benedict which he said was "OK" and my toddler had some scrambled eggs. We also ordered coffee which comes out in a pot and the bill came to over $100 without tip. The service was ok and the view was nice but not a place I would go back to for breakfast. Maybe I will try out their dinner sometime.
Almost things are very good. But, seosonal foods(summer) are contained many flowers which have strong favor. Personally, this favor isn't best.
Stellar service, food and ambiance all around. Excellent experience. Albeit pricy, highly recommended.
Service, view and food is awesome. Love this place!
Each course was creative. Caviar was excellent. Overall was below average of Michelin 2-star restaurants. Chef's cooking skill is fair; such as, the wagyu beef was bitter and black on top; also, ingredient skill was fair; such as, the eggplant tasted strange. Tableware was normal. Interior decoration was ordinary.
Sixteen has something really special going on; the current core group (executive chef, pastry chef, sommelier and general manager) are all fairly new in their respective roles at Sixteen. IMHO my two recent meals exceeded my previous meals at Sixteen under Chef Lents. The extended tasting menu is leisurely and features a wonderful progression with top quality, super fresh ingredients that are almost always perfectly executed and artistically presented (across two meals only a single course out of approximately two dozen was a miss and several were phenomenal). Bread service and ample mignardises ensures you will leave satiated. Service is attentive, polished and luxurious without being stuffy - despite the elegant ambiance the staff is so personable and greatly enhances the overall experience. The wine pairings might be the best in town. The dining room itself is luxurious but comfortable and with amply spaced tables and gorgeous views. While dinner here is expensive, for those willing to splurge Sixteen is well worth it and is currently among the top few restaurants in Chicago.
Outstanding tasting menu at lunch! Would highly recommend! If any Never-Trumpers are staying home you're missing out! Get over it and dine at Sixteen!
Perfection ! Nothing to complain about. Service par excellence
In general, the food is good. Although, some courses are too salty or too acid. The creactivity of each course is good with potential to be excellent.
Beautiful place, the food was inventive and delicious.
The service was perfect! Raul, knows the perfect wines and all details about the food and how it was prepared, thanks Raul!
Exquisite food, very artfully presented and served by a team that exudes sophistication without snobbery and that demonstrates a cheerful willingness to accommodate every request. The caliber of cooking here is really quite extraordinary. Along with such an elegant room, personable staff, and broad wine list, everything is in place for a very memorable evening.
The worst brunch ever.the food was ok but the service, omg, horrible, never They came to check the table, they did not explain anything about the menu, the waitress just did not do her job, paying $ 110 for a Father's Day brunch for this? I will not go back any more
if you are a vegetarian don't bother go there, you will have nothing to eat except vegetables. I don't see how a bunch of vegetables worth the 230$ i paid.
Previous experiences here have been wonderful. I don't know if this was a one off event but the food was quite awful. It is hard to recommend at this point and hopefully this was just a one time poor event and not demonstrative of the new kitchen staff. Simply put, it was $500 for two people for the worst meal we have ever had!
Fun and amazing service!
Amazing food and service! Special personal touches all through the meal!
It was a very exquisite dining experience. It was pricey but the food was delicious and the service impeccable.
I actually dinned right outside 16 on the Terrace - its a got the best views of River North. Great Food - pricey but great for special occasion. Noise was not bad - but it can get windy. Food was amazing - very good mixed drinks.
The food was exquisite, the service was amazing. You were treated like royalty. The views of the city were spectacular. Be prepared to pay a minimum of $500 for the bill. It was worth every penny!
Perfect ambient and service, the food is above average. Don't miss the view outside
Service could have been more attentive. Went there for brunch
fantastic food, great atmosphere with great views outside, individual service, especially when choosing the wine (great knowledge of the sommelier),
Food was delicious. Service was outstanding. Views were amazing.
Great food and service!
A definite WOW from beginning to end. Spectacular view even on a rainy spring evening.
Sixteen is an amazing restaurant with a spectacular view of Chicago. It is very high end and not the place one goes with the notion it will not be expensive. It is a prix fixe menu. Each course was superb. It is a leisurely dining experience. Cocktails and wine were also excellent.
I think it's very strange all .not good taste.
Few mistakes with our beverage order. The food was good and the présentation was great.
Staff and service were exceptional. Food was excellent as well.
Perfect for special occasion, won't regret it!
We were greeted right off the elevator abd after taking our coats ushered to our table with a great view of Wrigley and Tribune towers. We were promptly offered champagne and caviar. We had the 5 course tasting menu which was plenty. Ther is also a 10 course option. The win list was very good and the sommelier was very helpful. Every course was memorable. Great flavors and visually appealing presentation. The service was impeccable and unobtrusive. Definitely recommend and will definitely be back.
Short selection for high dollar lunch.
Service, food and location great.
Proposed to my now fiancé. Everything was perfect. The staff help and gave us champagne to celebrate with. Very nice and classy place
Food was spectacular. Every server there paid attention to you and said hello. Overall, pricy but delish!
Extremely extremely limited menu. Like 2 choices for main course. My guest didn't like either choice
