Well I’ll be honest, it’s a good restaurant with tasty food. However it was the little things, that together, made it less than the fantastic experience it should have been. I mean it’s owned by Trump and has 2 Michelin stars, which means the bar should be set quite high. As a result, due to several shortcomings, I would say it’s unworthy of even having 1 Michelin star. The lobster was way to chewy which means it wasn’t properly cooked, there was no sugar for the coffee, the bathroom was low on soap, the server charged us for not only our meal but for someone else’s too (which was way more expensive), there was scraps and stains on the table, the dress code was not enforced, etc. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a nice place but the service for example, needs to improve when it reopens. Overall, it was cool to visit and it did the job but certainly not worth $100+...

We have been coming to 16 for the last 8 years and have had many many fine dining experiences. When I got the email that the restaurant would be changed and they would no longer be doing the themed tasting menus we decided to make a special trip from Rochester MI to treat ourselves to one last great meal and an overnight at Trump International. The hotel was of course superb. My only real complaint is that there was no pricing for the wine pairing. Unless specifically listed as a “supreme” pairing I have never had one that was 20% more than the 16 course menu. WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN INFORMED!! Especially when several courses the pairings were with shared courses. I’m not a millionaire - we just used a good portion of our vacation budget on $600 worth of wines and spirits.

For the wine pairing, same wines were repeated on two different occasions. Not sure if this is the best value for money. Just order a bottle of nice wine and skip the wine pairing! Not worth it!

We were visiting from out of town and wanted to try a Michelin rated restaurant. We had heard great reviews for this place. We thoroughly enjoyed the tasting menu which was the legacy menu. Each course was a mini surprise of flavors, textures and artfully presented. The ambience was quiet, good outlook to chicago’s Downtown with wall to ceiling windows. We were seated by the window. Service was impeccable, friendly. Each time a new dish was served, the ingredients and composition were explained. We did not do any wine pairings but all the other tables did. Our favorite dishes had sweet components (appetizer rhubarb snacks, and the desserts). We learned that Sixteen was closing down at the end of the month and being reconfigured to a new concept which I’m sure will still bring in crowds.

The food is interesting and artful. Hard to say delicious but definitely refined. The decor looks like The Donald picked it out himself. Nothing goes together. The floor covering resemble a Las Vegas convention center, the orange wood paneling is a throwback to the early 90s. The wait staff seem confused. If I were the Chef, I would be looking for a new venue.

I would recommend it if you have a lot of extra money to spend. I went for a birthday and my bf complained about the food the entire night. It was not worth $736 I paid. He was still hungry afterwards.

Two stars from the Michelin Guide could grow to three as the dishes here are beautiful, delicious and truly special. Expensive, but that's to be expected. Politics should not keep diners from enjoying this excellent Trump Tower restaurant. In warm weather, the outdoor terrace is fabulous, with terrific views over the river and the lakefront.

The food was actually very well done. I’ve ordered the lunch course menu and it was overall satisfying. I would say the hanger steak was a little tough but that was to be expected. I was actually hoping the brunch buffet was still going on but apparently that was discontinued on January. I would probably drop by again for lunch during the summer when the outside area opens up.

Horrendously expensive ! The experience is not worth the money. Excellent restaurant but there is nothing magical in the plate (taste, presentation, ingredients) to match the cost. You end up paying for the service and the location. Fancy address but not the place for food lovers seeking more than the venue.

Not much to say. The food was not worth recounting. There were a few items but far and few. This food tasted like I was at Schwa. Not a fan. We had a great bottle of wine from Wren Hop vineyard. We wanted another. No more. The fact that we were also placed in the dead zone room, in the middle of the floor didn’t help. Perhaps all the hype about 16 just didn’t live up to it.
