About
Six Penn closing is a loss for Pittsburgh. I will miss it.
Farewell Six Penn! My wife and I will miss you. Best of luck to the staff.
My girlfriend and I came for Valentines Day dinner and arrived 15 minutes before our reservation, but were taken care of and seated immediately. Like the rest of our visits, the service was outstanding and all of the food and cocktails were absolutely delicious. The only disappointing part is that was our last visit because they are closing Saturday. :( This was our favorite restaurant downtown.
Delicious as usual! The pork shank is the best and their drinks topped by no one. Too bad they are closing their doors for good on Saturday Februray 17th, 2018....shame on you Eat-n-park!
Amazing, as always. Lamb bolognese that melts in your mouth. We'll miss this place.
This restaurant is great! Unfortunately it is closing, we do not know why!! I hope the owners reconsider!
Sadly we went for our final dinner and our entrees were delicious. We also ordered two additional entrees to take home and eat the next day. They were also delicious!
It is sad when a consistently good restaurant goes out of business. Again, we hope the group that owns and operates this restaurant will give it another chance.
We are so sorry to see this restaurant close. We wish the chef and all the waitstaff the best
Always great! Will be sorely missed! Not another restaurant like it downtown!
This was a bitter-sweet visit to one of our two favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh. Sweet because it's always a good time. Bitter because it will be our last visit as it is closing soon.
Great restaurant with a large variety of different tastes for every palate... very sad to see it go:( It was a perfect spot to head downtown for a preshow bite, to celebrate a special occasion, or share a meal with your loved ones... Menu was very extensive, and there was always something on there for even the pickiest eater! A must do restaurant!
Kitchen gets a bit loud yelling food orders
Love this place. So sad it is closing!
We went before going to see Wicked downtown and were strapped for time. Bottle of wine took 15 minutes to get to our table (points against service), cork got stuck, they had to get another bottle and didn't give us the one with floating cork pieces (points for service). We ordered the New York Strip (it came out cold) and the crab cakes with risotto. The crab cakes were excellent but the risotto was also cold. I'm not sure what was going on in the kitchen, the place is usually very good. We will go back, but this trip was a little iffy. We would have sent the food back, but didn't want to miss the show.
This restaurant was a staple for theatre goers and folks who lived downtown.
It's sad that it is closing on Feb. 17th. I'm glad I was able to have one more delicious meal with friends.
Excellent dining as always! Incredibly disappointed they are closing! Not sure where we will go now! My husband is very picky
Waiter was fantastic. Food was good, and time of delivery was quick. Thumbs up!
Always great food and service and atmosphere.
We are so sorry that this restaurant is closing. We will miss it and it's convenience to Heinz Hall and the Benedum -- glad we could go there one more time before it closes.
It is a shame that this restaurant is closing on February 17, 2018. Corporate Eat-N-Park should rethink their decision!
Very sorry to see that Six Penn is closing. Had another great dining experience, service was outstanding...
It was great. Food came in huge portions though which is a surprise for a restaurant with this class.
Everything was great from service to food. So sorry to hear that it will be closing.
Unfortunately this restaurant is closing in mid-February, which is a real shame. They were always a great lunch or diner location,
Always had great meals at Six Penn, especially the pork shank. So sad they are closing in a couple of weeks.
Dinner before a show. Great service but food wasn’t up to par. I had this same chicken dish
a few months ago. This time the latke was mushy and sweet not crunchy like the last time I had it. Looked like a sausage patty. However they were accountable for the latke and they offered me another vegetable and free dessert for the table. Great customer service. I’d would go back again.
We were on our way to the symphony and brunch and atmosphere very enjoyable and tasty!
I had the Meat and Cheese plate, the Wild Boar Pasta, and my daughter had Bison burger. The meat and cheese plate was good, fair size for 16 bucks. Our entrees were gross, i needed to salt mine and it still tasted like hamburger helper and there were no brussel sprouts in it, the burger was flavorless too. Seriously. I didnt complain we just boxed them up and left, it cost so much i thought i would eat it later, but i pitched them. I wish i had that $100 back.
Food was very good as always. It was a busy evening and the service was a bit slow which could have been a problem since we had show tickets. But, our waiter made certain we finished our dinner in a timely manner.
Our dining experience was very nice. We dined here before going to the theater, and we were able to have a relaxing dinner including dessert and were still in plenty of time for our performance. The food choices on the winter menu were more limited than we expected after looking at the online menu offerings, but there were still an ample number of entree choices including specials of the day. The Autumn Butternut Squash soup was delicious. My NY strip steak was tender and perfectly cooked and my husband's pork shank dinner was very tender and was very good as well. The only thing we did not care for was the desserts we ordered. The Cranberry Bombe was beasutifully presented on the plate, but had almost no flavor when eaten. The cranberry-orange sorbet sounded interesting, but proved to be way too tart, and almost bitter. We enjoyed our dinners and would definitely go back to this restaurant. We woulld just make different dessert choices than the ones we had. We had excellent service, and the kitchen was also very accommodating to some dietary requirements that I had.
Excellent location for all the First Night activities we attended. The food , service and atmosphere were outstanding. Six Penn is a very enjoyable and comfortable place to dine. We'll return again.
Reserved a table for my family for brunch prior to the 1pm Steelers game. The food was really good, but way overpriced ($13 per person) for waffles.
GREAT EVENING FOR US , TOTALLY ENJOYED OUR MEAL , STRIP STEAK AND THE
PORK SHANK DISH , BOTH WERE GREAT AND THE FANCY DESSERT WITH THE
CANDY COTTON WAS A BLAST......" DREW " OUR SERVER WAS OUTSTANDING.
COULD NOT SAY ONE THING OTHER THAN GREAT FOR DREW AND THIS SPOT.

IN THE " STEEL CITY WITH A GREAT STEELER FOLLOWING A GREAT DINNER....
Bread and our “warm desserts” were ice cold. Steaks were not cooked as requested.
Took my daughter to see The Nutcracker Christmas weekend
Limited lunch menu and we were a smidge early for dinner. Convenient to all theatres.
This is a great place for those special occasions. The menu has a vast variety of dishes you just don't see everyday. The service is always great too.
Our evening was great, the food and service excellent. Our server, Darrell, was very personable and provided excellent suggestions for our meals. My wife and son-in-law followed his lead for the pork shank dinner , which Darrell tries to get every table to at least order one, and enjoyed it thoroughly - it was fall off the bone pork seasoned and cooked perfectly. My NY Strip was also prepared as requested and was excellent! We will be back and request Darrell!
Food not so good this time. sometimes it is outstanding, sometimes average or less.
We were seated at a large table (6 in our group) beside the fireplace which was nice for a chilly evening.
OurwaiterDavid was great, knowledgeable about the menuand a good humor to him.
My husband and I spit crab cakes and ordered a side of fires so we could have room for dessert . Everything was delicious.
I ordered the mahi special. The portion of fish was small and the accompanying black beans were hard. I also ordered a seasonal drink for $10 and it was so tart that it was almost inedible. My husband ordered the pasta with boar. Again the serving was small and unimpressive. Go for the pork or burger as they are a better value.
