A table of four seated promptly, coats were kindly gathered and checked by our hostess. Our waiter was aware of the holiday shows and events, asking if we were attending a ballet and assuring that he would keep an eye on the time so we could enjoy ourselves.
Beautiful presentation of all of the courses. Excellent service, enjoyable experience.
The price of the food was far too high for the quality. Similar meals can be found in and around Grand Rapids for half the price. Steak and asparagus for $40. Truly uninspired. The décor was lacking along with a less than bad "view" of a concrete porch. Seating was less than original; there was a definite feel of being in a hotel. Location is excellent for attending local concerts and the valet service is a plus. Overall, however, I will only recommend this location to others as a last resort.
We came to celebrate our anniversary with a special meal and were not disappointed. The entrees both had a distinctive touch and were well prepared. The service person was knowledgeable and attentive without being overbearing. The menu had good variety but without trying to be overwhelming. We were not bothered by other patrons and able to focus on each other’s company.
Excellent food. Had the shrimp ceviche, tempura tuna roll and, for our dinners, the Otto Chicken and the Filet Mignon. We had read the reviews so expected the food to taste wonderful and it did. We were a bit concerned about the service given the recent reviews but were pleasantly surprised. They had a full house but the service was excellent and timely. Everything came to the table without delay, menu items were explained in detail and our server was professional and polite. This restaurant was a great choice. We’ll be back often.
The food is enjoyable but the service has suffered. We have been enjoying Six One Six since the JW opened. The food has always been consistently good with a well selected wine list. We ate several meals here this weekend and the serving staff was stretched thin and rarely seen. We were feeling forgotten when our dinner took over an hour to arrive after we had placed our order. Most of the attention seems to be focused on larger private parties, the kitchen and serving staff should be increased to handle the higher dining volume during these times. The same thing happened the following morning when we were turned away due to a large party. There was not a delay in seating, there simply was no seating availability for the remainder of the morning. That being said, the food remains good. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the filet mignon were tender and enjoyed by many in our party. The dark chocolate dessert was dense and rich and the chevre cheesecake is always great.
Food and drinks were good, but service was very poor. Sides for main course were incorrect, said they would bring them right away and I didn't get them until 10 minutes after finishing my steak. It was my wife's birthday and they brought her a dessert which was very nice, but we had no silverware at the table. Server came back 10 minutes later and notice and said she would be right back, but instead went to another table and took their order, completely forgetting about us. 15 minutes later we asked another server if they could bring silverware. Not sure if we would go back because when you plan on spending a couple hundred dollars on dinner you expect great service and that's not what you get here.
My husband and I had a fantastic time at 616 for our Anniversary. The food , service and view were amazing!! Highly recommend the Charred NY Strip and Filet . So good!! Our server Jeff was excellent and the complimentary champagne and dessert was a nice touch.
Have always had good meals here, although I am not much of a foodie but I am still able to find something suitable on the menu. Many diners that enjoy more of a foodie menu would be excited to see their offerings here. Ordered off the Restaurant Week menu and enjoyed my 3 course meal and drink very much even while dining alone.
We were excited to dine at Six One Six and were able to grab a 9:30 pm reservation for our Anniversary. The ambiance was very nice and our waiter was very attentive. The food was good, seasoned well, and arrived promptly. However, we did feel a bit rushed as the waiter mentioned several times that the kitchen was closing at 10 and we needed to get our order in quickly. We were also VERY disappointed that we were unable to order dessert as we were told the kitchen was closed. If a restaurant is willing to take a 9:30 pm reservation, then we should be able to order dessert and not be rushed through our meal.
I enjoyed a really nice Sunday brunch buffet. Staff was extremely kind and attentive. Some improvement points: upfront I reserved a low table (yes, this option was given!) and a place on the outside deck. I got a high seat table and inside as it turns out that the deck was closed until 2PM (so after the brunch ends). I really do not get this: I picked 6-1-6 for having a brunch outside, close to the Grand river. Not offering this opportunity (and not informing me about this upfront) was a great disappointment!
Enjoyed a combined business/birthday lunch. Was exactly what you would expect from a JW Marriott property. Attractive decor, impeccable service, and delicious meal with a wonderful presentation. I ordered the Kale/Quinoa salad and thoroughly enjoyed it. When making my reservation, I noted that the outing was to celebrate a birthday. At the end of our meal, the staff presented a beautiful and decadent dessert. The only suggestion I have is that during the summer, management would reconsider their decision to open their deck at 2pm. I used to enjoy lunch on the deck and really miss the ability to do so. Kudos to the chef and staff -- I am looking forward to returning soon.

service was slow & it is terrible service to have your dinner come BEFORE they clear the appetizer/ salad plates --- we had to clear our own table so the dinner could be served --- staff needs more training
Though we had made a reservation, we still were made to wait some 20 minutes because we were told our table was not ready. Then what is the point of making a reservation? Many servers were scatterd all over the place, and many tables were not occupied, but our table was not ready? Not just we, many others were lso made to wait some time for their reasrved tables. One customer even asked her friends, "Do they forget us?" I feel the management has deterioted compared to our past experiences.
The food is delicious and the staff is extremely accommodating. The only issue was it was extremely busy for Sunday Brunch. We had to wait a little while for our reservation and they had to spill out the restaurant customers into the bar which included tables across from the reception desk. Not the best location to have Sunday Brunch. The food was delicious -- especially the fruit.
We generally go to Brunch on Sunday as we love the amazing selections to choose from. Elvis makes amazing omelettes and other egg options. The fresh fruit table is plentiful and well maintained. The service is outstanding. Therefore, we decided to go to dinner on Saturday evening. The menu was amazing and did not disappoint. The service was outstanding. The ambiance was the perfect picture for our date. I would recommend 616 to others wanting to enjoy a special night out.
