Sistina Ratings and Reviews
A hidden treasure. My friend and I enjoyed everything about Sistina. The way the food was prepared, the warm and comfortable atmosphere , and most importantly the Staff. We found the Staff to be pleasant, respectful, and very attentive. If you plan to have a romantic dinner, dinner with friends, a business dinner, or perhaps lunch by yourself or with others - Sistina will not disappoint!
Enjoy as I have.
Our overall experience was fantastic , the food was creative but artfully presented and the service was impeccable they made the night memorable experience . The dessert is a reason alone to dine here definitely coming back
From the moment you enter this beautiful and gracious restaurant you are welcomed with genuine warmth by every member of the incredibly professional staff. Dinner was superb, service was outstanding and Sistina truly lives up to it's reputation as one of the finest restaurants in Manhattan.
From the service to the food , this place is phenomenal we come for my wife’ Birthday . Food was spectacular, definitely surprised from the beginning to the end . We would come back for sure. Our server was also nice enough , very satisfied with the overall experience
Perfect. Any other description would be inaccurate.Food, stuff, ambience, and drinks
Are all perfect by which every other restaurant needs to mesures up to .Sistina is one of our new favorites restaurant can’t wait to go back
It was our Wedding anniversary.I book via email I've explained the occasion. The staff was polite. Our table was comfortable. We had some fried olives with bread and butter and two glasses of wine.We were told the specials but there were so many that we've got lost after the first 3 minutes. I ordered the veal chop with mushrooms and wife the artichoke ravioli with sun-dried tomato sauce. We were asked for any starter in between but we didn't feel like eating anything else. I was warned that my veal would take longer to cook. That was a turn off as I feel like I was being pushed on starter. The wine was cheaper by the glass than the bottle so we had a glass of Chianti. The food arrived and was a disappointment. The veal was actually super tasty, but the mushroom was awful and had a horrible aftertaste.I felt like the mushrooms really ruined the dish.Wife's ravioli was good but nothing special plus the 8 little pieces were not worth the money. We proceed to order the desserts and we were told about all the specials dessert menu.I ordered a tiramisu and the wife a cake. All of a sudden, the waitrer started talking about the restaurant and the new location (well, opened over one year ago) and teaching us how to rate the food.It was akward as we still in the middle of our dining experience as well we didn't need to be told how to rate online. That was not over.My wife's dessert arrived and for our surprise, Happy Anniversary written on plate and it was a really nice touch.....until my dessert came in with happy birthday written on it followed by two people loudly singing "happy birthday to you" and embarrassing us.No idea where the happy birthday came from as this occasion was not anyone's birthday. The dessert was pretty average to bad and we couldn't even eat the whole thing.$260 later I feel that it was not worth the money.
Staff was nice but the food, the price and the mess with this birthday stuff didn't go well.
Once again, an extraordinary experience .Tha food was perfect, the service friendly but non intrusive.
I had 2 important business contacts in from out of town . Sistina is now in both of their “ must repeat “
Lists. Definitely coming back again
My wife and I had not been to Sistina since it moved. We always considered it one of our all-time favorites in Manhattan. We are happy to report that it is still awesome. Giuseppe Bruno takes enormous pride in providing the best food, wine, service, and atmosphere. I do not believe that I have ever come across a better Italian wine list and Renzo Rapacioli, a famous sommelier in his own right, helped us select a fantastic Brunello. Thank you for a fantastic dinner and evening. We will not wait so long to return!
We celebrated my birthday here and had a wonderful experience. We found the food to be delicious
Restaurant is in very nice old building and has a good vibe inside. Menu simplified things with tasting menu options which where perfectly laid out and portions were large . Highly recommend for a nice dinner out or even special occasion .
Pastas were great, fish dishes where cook perfectly with creative sides and over evening was fantastic.
Highly recommend can’t find anything to complain about at all . Enjoy .
Big reputation to live up to, and it did so and then some. You know you are in for a special treat when you arrive, and walk into the stunning building. We started in the beautifully appointed bar with Prosecco served in chilled glasses, and this kicked off what was a superb meal. Once at the table we had a difficult time choosing between all of the enticing appetizers, pastas, and entrees, which were only compounded by the mouth watering specials. Deciding on the zucchini flowers, and two appetizer specials we split the three choices and our excitement only grew for what was coming next. The entrees were outstanding, from the chicken and sausage, to the saffron pasta with veal, and the cod with crumbled sausage, we couldn't decide which was our favorite. For dessert, we split a flourless chocolate cake, and only wished we had the room to try something else. The food is wonderful, the staff professional and kind, and we would highly recommend.
Incredible friendly and helpful staff from start to finish. I had table in the back corner that felt very intimate and romantic .Food was outstanding and it made for all together a great evening. Service was
Amazing I asked for a candle for my wife and they all sing happy birthday very impressed.
Will definitely come back
Sistina Restaurant is an absolute culinary experience. The server did everything possible to make us feel comfortable and well served at all times .The Food was delicious , the service non stop
And elegant . The wine list excellent

It was a fantastic anniversary dinner
Can’t wait to get back again
Lunch at Sistina--a wonderful Italian restaurant, well-prepared food, and excellent décor (particularly struck by the ornate cloth coverings for the hanging lights). Located a block from MOMA. Good choices from the regular lunch menu, but we selected from the specials. My wife had beef ragu over tagliatelle, I had squid ink pasta with seafood sauce. We knew this was a great place when the waiter came back to say that my wife's initial choice--a lamb ragu--wasn't available because there had not been enough time to prepare the sauce (there was a big company holiday party the night before so they couldn't start on the next day's menu). OK, nothing out of a can! Both dishes were very good, although we both likes the ragu a bit better. I had chocolate gelato for dessert--good, but I probably didn't need the calories. Nice bottle of red wine. This is not a spaghetti house and prices are appropriate for the level of cuisine and service. Going back next time I'm in NYC.
We were visiting from Dallas Texas. Sistina was recommended as a must for our visit. We cannot say enough about our fabulous dining experience in New York. It is now first on our list whenever we are in New York! Great service and attention to anything and everything you could ask for. Food was wonderful and desserts the best.
I have been going to Sistina for years and the dinner I had the other night was absolutely superb. From snails and mushrooms on a creamy, silky, light polenta, to fettucine with shaved white truffles, to a perfect paillard of veal, Sistina continues to serve food of the highest caliber. I have always felt it is under appreciated in the panoply of NYC's best Italian restaurants. Their recent move to the gorgeous East 81st Street location simply heightened the experience. I recommend Sistina to those who truly enjoy exceptional food served in a setting befitting its quality. I look forward to the next time.
This restaurant is right off Madison Avenue ain a lovely part of town!!! Not only was the food amazing the staff and service were impeccable!!!! I can't wait to visit the city and go eat there again!!!! Amazing food and wine!
The food was superb - from the appetizers to the main course. The venison with gnocci was excellent - meat melted in your mouth. The seasoning on the 5 nut spaghetti was light and flavorful. The staff are friendly and very attentive. The ambiance - you feel like you are in Italy.
Fabulous food, beautiful dining room and John our server made it a perfect afternoon. Service was terrific , unbelievably good food and the new place so gorgeous. First time at the new location .
Will definitely come back
