Sistina Ratings and Reviews
The food was superb - from the appetizers to the main course. The venison with gnocci was excellent - meat melted in your mouth. The seasoning on the 5 nut spaghetti was light and flavorful. The staff are friendly and very attentive. The ambiance - you feel like you are in Italy.
Absolutely divine. The best service we’ve ever had. The attention to detail was impeccable. Extremely lively, gorgeous surroundings and stunning presentation of the dishes. The waiters were exceptional. Very professional, warm and friendly. I would dine here over and over again as a traveler to nyc. Thank you for such a lovely meal and experience!
Not our first time at Sistina, but every visit is a memorable experience. The decor at the new location is absolutely beautiful, the food continues to be fantastic, the wine recommendations are always great and the owner and staff are the most gracious hosts in New York. Cannot wait to go back again!!
Wonderful and very lengthy list of specials (3 primi, 4 salads, 4 pastas, 3 fish, and 3 meat entrees) in addition to a very nice selection of everyday menu selections. Service was outstanding (that the maitre could recite all of the specials from memory was very impressive in itself). Portions are good size and extremely tasty. Ambiance and vibe were good, but noise level was not so high that two people couldn’t have a conversation easily. Expensive, but worth the price. We definitely would go back.
My wife and I went recently for our anniversary. We had one of the best experiences ever! The service from start to finish was attentive, helpful, and made great suggestions. The atmosphere was delightful. We had a comfortable corner table that was romantic. The food was really over the top delicious with hints of being creative. Mostly it was so well executed and seasoned that each bite was better than the last. We can't wait to go back. Currently on the top of my list!
The service was outstanding and warm. The wine selection was on the pricey side, but the recommendations made to us were spot on to accompany the fantastic food. The servings were enormous, so as a small woman, I would only have two starters next time. Unfortunately, there was a noisy and large birthday group off to the side whilst we were there, but otherwise the ambiance was perfect.
If OpenTable offered 6 stars I would have given them 6 - it’s that good. Sistina offers the trifecta of fabulous food, unparalleled service, and a beautiful setting inside a former Upper Eastside row house. Can’t wait to come back.
The food, service, and ambiance were outstanding. Very extensive menu, with everything extraordinarily well-prepared. Service very attentive, but not intrusive. Pricey, but worth it. Our only slight disappointment was with desserts, which were good, but not as outstanding as the remainder of the meal. Would definitely return.
We have been going to Sistina pretty often since they opened on East 81st St.
Yes, they are expensive. However, they are consistently excellent.
Their specials are really special, the service and atmosphere are wonderful.
It’s hard to determine which was better at Sistina, the food or the service. The staff was extremely attentive and kind, and the food was legitimately some of the best I’ve ever had. The oyster selection is beautiful, and perfectly prepared (no loose pieces of shell or sand in the liquor). And the pappardelle sistina was the best bolognese I’ve ever had, I will always order it. Definitely recommend highly, and will be returning to Sistina.
Room is very pretty especially the garden room in back. Service is good but they try and remove plates before you are done with your food; really weird; don't they look at your plate or view you from afar to see if you are done? My husband was eating his spaghetti dish when server asked if he was done!!!!???? they still serve bread in a basket! Jeesh...that went out like 15 years ago. if you want to be in the now..offer bread from bread service or make fresh mini loaves and charge for it. food is old fashioned Italian. nothing new. stick with the classics. I ordered the partridge as I always like to please a chef but boy was it bad. overcooked, dried, maybe 2 pieces were tender. desserts not good at all. I did have the classic truffles over pasta which was actually good. oh! wine list is very nice. Oh! my husband's food was pretty dismal.
A lovely late lunch. Food was excellent as always. My friend arrived 45 minutes late due to unexpectedly high traffic delays getting across Central Park, and the kitchen was supposed to close at 3 pm (we had 2 pm reservations). The service staff was incredibly patient and all went well.
Amazing once again... no other words describe this place. Giuseppe has built a little jewel here. Tucked away in a prewar building just off Madison Ave. We sat in the garden room for the first time. Just as lovely as the main dining room. Food was exquisite as we have come to expect. I had the heirloom tomato salad and my wife had tuna tartare. Both done to perfection. I had the ricattone and she had the lobster pasta for the main course. Pure heaven. Great wine list and amazing service capped off the evening. Call them now for appt. Not to be missed.
One tiny blemish walking out the door was the bartender, who refused to break a twenty so I can give the coatcheck a proper tip. A bit bizarre after spending a tidy sum on this meal. Not to mention the impact on the coatcheck. I’m sure it’s an oversight they won’t repeat.
Food exceeded our expectations. Dishes were unique - they were prepared and presented well and joyful to the palate. The staff was knowledgeable, congenial and accommodating. We were lingering a bit, after our dining experience and because they needed the table for newly arriving guests, we were provided complimentary drinks at their bar before our departure.
