Service staff was rude, argumentative, inattentive which was so far removed from the grace of the atmosphere. They were poorly trained, didn’t respect or even realize they worked for the customers.
One of the wait staff forgot to offer us a dessert special of wild strawberries even though they were offered to tables on both sides of us. When my date Asked the waiter why he didn’t offer it to us he told her that he did offer it and she had a short memory and it wasn’t his fault if she could not remember. I confronted him and I said I am sure he didn’t offer it to us. He replied that he did offer it to us so I guess he was saying we both could not remember.
I was astounded by this extremely rude response and I asked him to apologize. He refused.
This guy should not be a waiter anywhere especially not at a very expensive exclusive restaurant.
Wait staff like this can ruin a restaurants reputation. In this case it certainly did.
The owners will pay for the unbelievable behavior of untrained angry staff by allowing such behavior to exist.
We came here for a nice lunch before heading to the Met.
Sistina was absolutely fabulous.
The food, service and comfortable setting were beyond what we were expecting.
We definitely plan on returning to try some of the other wonderful dishes.
Lovely place for lunch or dinner. We met friends for dinner then returned the next day for lunch! Food was fantastic! It’s a little noisy, but so is any place in NYC!
Elegant dining in a converted townhouse. The beautiful surroundings are only exceeded by the magnificent cuisine. Excellent wine list at fair prices.
Very good food, but very expensive. Very loud. Not great value.
One of the best dinner ever. Food was authentic, unique and delicious.
Best Italian, Best Restaurant, Best Service, Best Food, Best Owner
Consistently perfect, this is where I take my best friends or business associates to impress them. Ultra fresh ingredients, fine cooking, a lovely bar and a dining room that is as elegant as they come without being stuffy in the least. The service is also perfect. I can't come to Manhattan without dining at Sistina!!!
Honestly a great time at a beautiful restaurant. Lunch was delicious and quiet at a reasonable price for the elegant service.
One of the best Italian restaurants we've ever experienced. Excellent atmosphere, impeccable service, and food of the highest quality. A great place within walking distance of the Met for an unforgettable evening.
Amazing! Perfect for our daughters’s graduation celebration dinner,
The ambiance, service, and food here is excellent--you will not be disappointed. Probably one of the best meals I have ever had anywhere. Be aware that this all comes with a very high tariff. Great place to have lunch after going to the Met, but you might want to check the credit limit on your card before you arrive (very expensive)!
I rarely give five stars, but Sistina deserves them. This is an elegant restaurant. Outstanding service, delicious food, wonderful wines and a lovely decor combine to make dining here a delightful experience. Of course, wonderfulness has a high price tag. This is an expensive place to dine, but, if your budget allows it, you can't do much better than to eat here.
The service was good. My husband and I shared the arugula and pear salad which was very good. The branzino al sale was very good. The homemade black linguine with calamari, clams, mussels and roasted red pepper was a little disappointing. The Linguine itself was a little bland and the calamari was chewy. I expected the clams and mussels to be in their shell but were not.
We shared a gelato order - a trio of chocolate gelato, pistachio gelato and passion fruit sorbet. The chocolate geleato was excellent and went very well with the passion fruit. The pistachio gelato was so so.
The food was outstanding. Our 4th visit and we will return. Pxs are high but given quality, innovativeness of dishes and portion sizes, they are reasonable. Lovely ambiance and nicely-spaced tables for quiet. Exceptional service.
Excellent food, great service.
Anniversary and we couldn’t ask for a better restaurant
After spending the afternoon at The Met we had a fantastic dinner at Sistina. The service was top notch, and all the food was fantastic. There were a ton of specials. I had an amazing oyster dish. The pasta entrees were perfection. I had a perfect fettuccine. Dessert (chocolate soufflé) was one of the best we’ve ever had. All around great experience.
Excellent cuisine and service. Wine list pricey
Very excellent restaurant
ALWAYS OUTSTANDING....Beautiful...and pricey. One of my favorite Italian restaurants in NYC. Been a fan for 20 years and still go back every week. A "must go' restaurant in NY.
We had a wonderful meal. Surprised us with a complimentary of delicious pizza Everything from the martinis ,clams over spaghetti to veal chop pallard with mushroom sauce was delicious! Hope to return sometime
Real authentic Italian cuisine with attentive dining staff. The restaurant is cozy and a relaxed vibe Service was well-timed and friendly, food was great and affordable. We had fry oysters to start home made fettuccine for main course delicious,we definitely coming back soon
Too noisy. To expensive. Excellent waiter. Great selection.
Excellent experience all around. Food outstanding. Service very attentive. Great location.
The service was excellent and the food was also terrific. We had the soft shell crabs which were delicious. The staff is great and they never rushed us at all. We actually stayed a while and were the last party to leave the dining area.
A most professional delivery of food, ambience and service. Fully priced.
Amazing place, amazing food , amazing staff and a very good wine list. We love this place.
Sistina is typical of the Upper East Side. The food is very good, and the prices are very high. Service is excellent.
Very nice, very expensive.
We love this restaurant. It's beautiful, the service is exemplary, and the food (what's on the menu plus a multitude of special offerings) is always delightful and delicious. It's truly one of the top in Manhattan.
The food is always fabulous. On this evening we sat at the bar. The service was very, very good.
Love the wine list and love the service. Food is excellent. We got in for an early dinner so were able to see the courtyard views. Gorgeous.
The spaghetti with pesto and sea urchin was incredible!
Very pleased having it two blocks from home but would travel to dine there. The fried oysters
are the best in my long lifetime of eating them all over the world. Comfortable seating in the
main dining room. Everything we have eaten there is very pleasing. Excellent drinks and wine
list. The dessert are too delicious.
Beautiful restaurant, truly delicious tasting food; loved the entire experience. We've been to Sistina several times and we love it and recommend it to friends. And we'll be back there soon!
The truffle pasta as my appetizer was outstanding and as good as what I had at San Giuseppe in Sena or Ad Hoc in Rome, my wife had the scallops (perfectly prepared) and I had the salted branzino, although it was presented tastefully, I will probably choose something tastier in the future such as Colorado lamb chops or the Porterhouse, at which you were presented with a choice of cuts before being prepared, a novel and simple idea which no major steakhouse in New York offers
The picture on Opentable is not the current Sistina location (the owner informed me he has requested OpenTable to change the picture repeatedly). It is now situated in a beautiful townhouse built during the gilded age, with a baroque style main dining room and a tastefully decorated semi solarium.
I highly recommend the dining experience at Sistina, dinner for 2 will range between $300 - $500, of course, that will depend on your choice of alcohols. I will now put Sistina at the top 5 restaurants on my list.
Fantastic crew - super space - excellent food
Always a great experience. We love the menu, ambience, and staff. Truly a favorite. Highly recommended.
