Great food with great service for Easter. Tables were spaced 6’ apart, and some were divided by large plexiglass partitions. We both had the Easter ham lunch, and it was delicious with a deviled egg appetizer. Good wine list and wonderful Bloody Mary! Excellent job Sisters! Thanks!
First time out after covid! Dinner was pleasant, service attentive and timely. Food quality was all right, but not outstanding. Overall, a nice dinner.
Everything was wonderful! Food was delicious. Service was excellent. Only criticism was the room was a bit loud
Sisters at Martha is a typical small town restaurant. Salad was good, but salmon on it was overcooked a bit and the Pino Gris was sweet and kind of heavy. Server was very nice and the service was prompt.
Birthday for wife
Food was delicious! The extensive wine list Is a great local find!
This place is consistently grand! We eat here often and they are alway have friendly servers, great food, and a wonderful atmosphere. I highly recommend for any occasion.
Good food, excellent service. For beer drinkers such as myself, they could use a wider selection.
Very nice restaurant. The service was great and the staff very friendly. The food we had was delicious. We will definitely return and recommend to others.
It is still their winter season, so there aren’t as many people there and it is quiet. The inn is beautiful, as well as the restaurant. The food was delicious; we ordered the chicken and waffles, a pork dish, key lime pie and raspberry sorbet.
They are remodeling and have a limited menu.
The actual restaurant is undergoing renovation and we look forward to it re-opening. In the interim the restaurant has moved into the hotel ballroom as such the atmosphere and ambience suffers, but the food (limited menu again due to the renovation) was nonetheless very good and the service first-rate.
Menu did not give good description of dish I ordered also menu was very limited because of ongoing renovations that were a surprise.
Our visit to Sisters was a truly enjoyable experience. We were celebrating our 57th wedding anniversary, and, have eaten and traveled the world for years. Service from entry to table was gracious and warm, and, the festive air from others having a good time and lots of conversation was welcoming. Service was immediate and attentive from Jennifer. Our meals of filet and trout were outstanding and the sides of deviled eggs, asparagus, and brussel sprouts, and bread were excellent. While your selections of entrees are limited, the individual preparations are superior. We were reminded of the many fine restaurants we have visited in other locations with the ambiance you have captured. Congratulations!
The food was absolutely superb. The statement , " You eat with your eyes first, " applies to this environment. The service and attention to detail was impeccable. We have not had a dining experience like that in several years. The entire staff should be commended for their professionalism. We thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the ambiance.
We had to track down the valet when we arrived and when we left. We sat waiting for service for 30 mins. Had to go ask if we had a server. They were on a phone call and couldn’t help us quickly. Food took forever to get to us and had clearly been sitting under a heat lamp for quite some time. This used to be a nice place to eat- but we will never return.
The food and service were perfect, as well as the atmosphere. No complaints at all. Price was good. Menu choices were good. Highly recommend!
Excellent food - great service-overall a fantastic experience
Dining room was freezing. Waitress apologized but said "no one knows how to light the fireplace." By the time our meal was finished, the very pregnant little hostess (in ugh boots) was able to light it. Tacky flower arrangements were substandard for a high end Inn as Martha Washington. Thank goodness breakfast was included the next morning, because it was not worth $17.50. No butter, jelly packets as in a diner etc. And we wore our coats to breakfast.
I want to love this restaurant as much as we did two years ago. The breakfast included in the room rate was— at that time— luxurious and well worth the touted $17 price for non-guests. This time it was ho-hum. The food and presentation were just okay. Smuckers jam in little plastic disposable containers?! Margarine? Nah. Dinner was similar. Pretty sure the dessert was topped with Cool Whip. I know the staff was very busy with Thanksgiving prep. But still think standards have eroded. We were also there for Thanksgiving Day lunch. Very overpriced! My fault for not inquiring. But I never dreamed we’d be charged $55 per person!!! For a meal that was ample but not extravagant as the cost implies. And all tasted okay but not so different in quality than Cracker Barrel. I’m sorry to say. The desserts were pretty stellar. Nice but not really geared to making diners feel that the high prices are worth it. Go instead to Rain, the lovely restaurant up the street!
Staff welcoming and friendly, food delicious and plentiful, lovely dining room furnishings and decor, staff helpful with wine selection, accommodating to substitution request, graciously agreed to split one meal for a 90 year old and her daughter.
Excellent experience. Ashton took care of us wonderfully!
Very pleased. Ashton was our waitress. Excellent experience. Will dine there again.
Delicious food from a diverse menu, generous pour of wine, quiet setting, and an excellent waitress.
We look forward to our annual visit here after seeing a show at the Barter Theater on the way home from the National Storytelling Festival.
Food was mediocre and ambience was somewhat lacking. Kind of old-style and run down. Our server was extremely nice though. It was not the place for me.
Food was outstanding but service was really slow. Server was extremely pleasant but overall service was slow.
On this occasion food was good but service was slow.
Attentive and friendly personal service and excellent food!
Superb salmon with lemon sauce. Sitting on thinly sliced red potatoes and fresh asparagus and drizzled with a wonderful lemon sauce.
The food was quite good. I did not care for the space- basically in a basement
The restaurant is nice and quiet. Service was good. The menu is very limited and there were no entree specials, only appetizer specials. My salmon was cooked very well but the citrus Chardonnay sauce was tasteless. It wasn’t unpleasant but I would not return.
Very good filet mignon. A bit dark and pricey however
My wife and I have celebrated our anniversary at the Martha for the last seven years and ate at Sisters for the last three. They have excellent food and a really nice dining room! Highly recommend the Pork Osso Bucco and anything with Cheese Curds (Poutine)!
Overpriced. My filet was terrible, because it had blue cheese on it. Who ruins a good filet with blue cheese!? Wine was way too expensive. For the money, the portion sizes were small. I had 4 slices of potato and 4 asparagus spears with my 40 dollar meal. Probably won’t eat there again. Not for the money. We paid 450 bucks for 6 people.
Super servers. Delightful Southern Virginia charm.
The food and service were excellent. Our group had the Filet Mignon, Chicken and Salmon for the main course. We also had the bread pudding, key lime pie and gelato for desert. Everything was fantastic!
Great dinner. Will definitely return
The service was excellent. The appetizers our group had were very good. The surf & turf my wife, and her mother and father had were very good and cooked as ordered. My salmon caprese was a bit of a disappointment. The salmon was over cooked, and dry. The desserts were excellent.
Celebrated my mother’s 80th birthday there! Food was wonderful- she had the filet mignon and I had the special - grilled salmon with a mixed green strawberry salad and strawberry vinaigrette. The dessert was a limoncello cake with blueberries and a blueberry sauce. Thank you for making it a special dinner!
Food was excellent and our waitress was very nice and efficient.
