Excellent all around! Thank you for making this occasion special!
New York strip tough as rope, vegetables rock hard and cool, mashed potatoes cold and lumpy. And the meal grossly overpriced. Should have gone to Capital Grill!!!
Walked in the fell in love with this restaurant! The view, music and lightening where amazing! The service started out well and took care of us to the finest. Ordered appetizer, than soup.... both where wonderful. Than everything went down hill. Ordered our main course which took over 30 minuets it see our server again. Once he surfaced and brought us our main dish the meat was cooked to perfection however the sides were both beyond cold. Very disappointing!
We thought we found a treasure of a restaurant however, we were very disappointed that such a high end restaurant could serve such a plate to their customers...... To top it off, our bill was overcharged!
We had a lovely time. The restaurant was beautiful. Felt Like I actually stepped on the Queen Mary as if she was built yesterday. The food was excellent, a bit pricey but it was truly delicious. Our waiters Jesus and Eduardo were exemplary.
I took my daughter and my 5 year old grandson and the experience was wonderful. The food was great and the service was exceptional. I ordered the Beef Wellington and it was cooked perfectly.
The atmosphere, ambience and historically elegant rooms are just gorgeous and charming. The service is superb and very heartfelt. The servers and managers truly want to make your evening great and treat you as both guest (appropriately formal) but also much like family. The food left a lot to be desired. We went on Mother’s Day. It was not too busy and they did have a limited menu due to the occasion but there was a sauce added to the very good steak that made the filet mignon taste wretched. It was both somewhat bitter tasting and bad, as if maybe mushrooms were used and they used bad ones or too much. They also had no children’s menu, they just offered the same adult menu but charged less. The bread was completely tasteless, not even adding butter or salt altered this. My husband had the blackened halibut and liked it but not the French onion soup or sides.
The cocktails and other drinks were really good, so they have a skilled bartender.
David was a wonderful server and we adored him, just not the food.
Service was impeccable. Food was good. At our table I would rate it in descending order as Filet, chicken, halibut. To be honest, the halibut was a bit disappointed but i am spoiled from living in Alaska. Servings were ample. The bread was delish. I scored MAJOR points with my father in law for taking him. He spent much of the evening recalling the glory days when he and his wife (now deceased) cruised all over the world including voyages on the Queen Elizabeth.
The restaurant was clean and had a great view of the harbor. The service and food were outstanding. Great location for anniversaries. Quiet and cozy dinning experience.
Great ambiance, but bit pricey!!!
We went there for Mothers day brunch. The food was great. They had a five-course serving and a great wine list. The only complaint I had was that they said they required business casual and there was a sign that said they enforced the dress code but when I went into the building it was not being enforced. I would have rather be more comfortable than dressed up.
Loved it! Went here for Mothers Day and had the special pre-fixed course menu. Delicious! Friendly staff and great experience. Worth the money :)
I’m so glad we had Mother’s Day and my birthday dinner here. Food was good, service was excellent. Jesus was our waiter and he was very attentive. We will definitely come back.
Service was excellent. Food was fabulous and a good selection. Atmosphere was quiet and peaceful for good conversation. Only draw back is you must go out on the Sun Deck to access the restaurant. It was light rain when we went so we got a little wet. But the restaurant can't control the weather.
Excellent place to cerebrate a birthday dinner and great for a couple.
Great ocean view table.
We were pleasantly surprised by how excellent the food and service were, nothing extra ordinary, but definitely very good. Walking around the ship, which seems to be undergoing repairs was a bit daunting, but nothing major. We celebrated a birthday, and they provided complimentary dessert and chocolate strawberries, which added some wow.
The annoying fact that the fire alarm went off more than once and stayed on for quite a long time would have been the perfect opportunity for them to offer the dining guests more than an apology, perhaps a free appetizer or dessert for their next visit?
We love going to Sir Winston’s .❤️
Great View ,❤️
Great Food ❤️
Wonderful restaurant for a special occasion!
Anniversary! Great service ! Love the Queen Mary! Very romantic!
Our 25th anniversary; perfect place to celebrate
Wait staff very attentive and knowledgeable. Escargot a bit tough, scallops excellent. A surprise dessert for our anniversary. Lovely evening!!
First time visiting Sir Winstons on the Queen Mary. The service was amazing! The food was incredible! I had the Beef Wellington and the beef was so tender and flavor full.
The only issue I did have was my party was sat towards the back in a corner overlooking the parking lot, when there were several empty tables for a group of 4 that had a better view. Other than that, I would definitely come back again the next time I'm in Long Beach and would recommend it to friends.
As always, Sir Winston's was a delight to visit and enjoy upscale dining. The service was outstanding. Meal was great, although I will say the escargot were cooked in an unusual manner with an interesting sauce. My choice is garlic and butter and this escargot was different.
Our entire table had a great time. We stayed close to 3 hours and never felt like the staff wanted to rush us out.
Simply a marvelous experience
We've visited Sir Winston's twice. The first visit as several years ago and I would have rated it all five stars. There was a noticeable slip in the quality of service this time around. When we made the reservation we noted that it was a special occasion (anniversary) but unlike our previous visit the receptionist and servers were unaware of this. My wife has dairy allergies so we always have to ask for careful preparation of her meal. On our previous visit the restaurant was prepared to deal with this and offered helpful ways to adjust entrees to accommodate her dietary needs. This time they fumbled around not having any creative ways to make adjustments. Last time they were ready offer a dairy free desert (none on the menu) this time all we could arrange was some sliced fruit. If this was a Black Angus that is what I would expect, but not at a five star restaurant. That said, the waiter was gracious and friendly, the quality of the entree was excellent (the accompanying potatoes and vegetables not as good), and the view of the harbor was beautiful.
John (?), the Maitre'd was warm and welcoming.
Ambience was great until a large, very loud party showed up. Service was on point; attentive without being intrusive. Thanks David. Food was excellent and tastefully presented.
Whiskey selection was a little slim..tilted toward bourbons and scotch. Some rye, Irish and Canadian options might be expected at a restaurant of this caliber.
Exceptional meal with outstanding service from Jesus , who has been serving for 33 years , I will definitely go back on my very next trip to Long Beach
I've visited the Queen Mary a zillion times over the past 25 years and eaten at all the other restaurants aboard, including the Sunday Brunch, but had never been to Sir Winston's for whatever reason. I guess it just seemed like you had to have a really "special" reason for eating there... a birthday, or anniversary, or some other hallowed occasion. At any rate, with no particular reason for going other than wanting a great view and a nice meal, I climbed the twenty (or so) steps to Sir Winston's. I'm happy I did.
Sir Winston's is a throwback to another era. A genteel era of polished wood, and polished service. Not many places "get it" any more. I would almost- almost-- trade mediocre food for wonderful service. Fortunately, at Sir Winston's you don't need to make that decision. The only decision to be made is how often to return.
Great experience and highly recommend! The service couldn't have been better and look forward to our next visit!
Restaurant was elegant, service was good. I had the Dover sole, which was very good, but looked more like petrale sole. My husband ordered the duck, it was tough and needed a sauce.
The waiters were amazing! Tom, offered items that weren't even on the menu! Food was amazing, the ambiance was regal! Check this one off my bucket list!
It was an awesome dining experience post theater. The wait staff was very attentive.
Had the Beef Wellington and it was very rare and not much flavor. Carrots were undercooked. Although they are trying to spruce up the Queen Mary it is still a very old ship and looks run down, this includes Sir Winstons. It was okay but can't recommend it.
The entrees, specifically the scallops, were delicious! My one qualm about the food was that the escargot lacked flavor and was a little more firm than what I've had at other restaurants. The ambiance is low-lit and very romantic. Lots of dates and anniversaries. The staff was very accommodating and worked to give us a table we would really enjoy. I would certainly return and recommend Sir Winston's. Get the scallops!
Want a nice upscale quiet restaurant that you can carry on a conversation while enjoying the ocean views? Look no further and book a date at Sir Winston's on board the Queen Mary for an outstanding meal. I took my wife here on the eve of our wedding engagement in 1991 and it was a very memorable night. We recently went back realizing that there are not many establishments left that know how to operate a first class restaurant. Many of our favorite restaurants have gone south since we first ate there. not Sir Winston's. Their service has not faltered since day one. The wait staff then and now was very attentive, they were formally dressed in black and white and wore ties. They know to serve on the left and clear from the right, they very discretely check on your table to ensure that you are well taken care of. I normally start with a percentage of tip and deduct for dirty dishes, silverware, glassware and service. At this establishment, I have never had the reason to deduct from my tip amount. The way I see it, a TIP is defined as To Insure Promptness. It is not something that is automatically added at the end of the meal. A Tip is earned and to earn it, the staff including the wait and kitchen staff must give me a reason not to deduct from my starting Tip. Instead, they gave me reason to add to it. The staff presented themselves in a professional and respectful manner the service was on point, the table setting was perfect and of course, the food was outstanding. Couple this with the sunset view and you have the makings for a very memorable evening.
It was my birthday and the food and service were very good. This was the first time there and my husband and I really enjoyed our time!
Wonderful service and great views from aboard the ship. Great way to spend the evening. Waiter was excellent!
Stayed overnight enjoyed a wonderful dinner.
This was such a treat. Everything from the service to the food was amazing. I’m visiting from Upstate NY and I will be back!
Great place . The Dover sole was not very good . Always thought they debone at table and was mushy . Disappointed
