Good food as usual a Sinigual, albeit a bit expensive. Service was a bit less attentive than usual, but overall another good meal.
Food was on the spicier side and couldn’t really be made mild. Portion was smaller than I thought for the amount paid
I work across the street from Sinigual and suggest it to anyone that wanted a good place to eat. It has been a little less than a year since I have been to the restaurant. Things have changed during that time. After ordering, the first thing the server brings is a container with tortillas. In the past, there would be at least 3 warm and moist tortillas that is slightly smaller than the container. This time, there was only 1 tortilla, it was cold and was small. The amount of table-side guacamole used to be plentiful. In the past, there would always be leftover guacamole. This trip, it was 1/2-1/3 the amount and the container is much shallower. The flavor is the same. In the past, the mains/entrees would come out in 15-20 minutes and be hot. This trip, everything was room temperature and it took almost 40 minutes. The restaurant was only 1/3 full, so too many orders is not a valid reason. Additionally, the server and food runner were arguing in front of everyone because the runner was holding a hot fajita platter and the server was taking too long to bring the metal fajita platter holder. Once the runner put the fajita platter down on the holder, it flipped and the food was all over the floor. There was no immediate apology from anyone. A few minutes later the server brought over the broom and cleaned up the mess and mumbled "I'm sorry". I am never returning nor will I ever recommend Sinigual again.
The food and service was great. Loved the drink.
I've been a loyal customer for many years. This was the worst experience. Service was extremely disappointing. After waiting over 20 minutes, a waiter finally appeared. We both ordered soup and it was so salty we had to send it back. Food has gone down overall. I love this place but management should pay attention to customer service and definitely improve the food quality.
The hostess had difficulty finding my reservation even though my guest was already seated. She took me to the wrong table and then I spotted my friend and seated myself. Our waitress was excellent. She provided exceptional service without being invasive. Server 598 Veronica. Food was very good and delivered quickly. The restaurant is pretty noisy. I was glad we were seated away from the bar.
There was no heat and long waits for service. Food was delicious with great presentation
It was FREEZING in this space. Patrons were all wearing coats. food is good. Service leaves much to be desired, possibly due to understaffing.
This is a good reliable neighborhood spot for slightly fancy Mexican food. It’s big and noisy and the service is brusque but efficient and friendly enough. It won’t change your life but it’ll leave you feeling full and happy, and what’s wrong with that?
I like the food and i think the waiters are very kind and sweet, however i found that during the busy time we were there the food and drinks came out not coordinated.....for example we had the food at our table and the drinks arrived 10/15 minutes later, we had the chips without the guacamole, when the guac arrived we had no chips and waited another 5-10 minutes for more etc. Maybe they should just organize better during the busy hours but it's a place i will return again
Fantastic service and delicious authentic mexican food at good rates. But drinks way too expensive.
It was great but a little noisy and crowded at happy hour.
Great contemporary Mexican food!
Server made a few errors-brought our app w entree, didn’t leave off ingredients as requested, overcharged on 2 items, brought wrong soup. Food was a little cold on sides and same w table next to us. Tasty food though and friendly staff.
The margaritas were fantastic and had great service!
I was disappointed with the waitress and entrees last Friday night. I have been going to this restaurant for dinner and lunch for the last 10 years. My entire party was disappointed! Will not return.
The food was well presented and very tasty. I ordered the combo chicken enchiladas and pork taco. We also ordered the guacamole that was made at the table. Everything was delicious!
Don’t order the chicken, but the margs are good
I eat here at least once a month and find the food and service is typically good at lunch and dinner. The soups & salads stand out along with a few other dishes such as the fajitas, Carnitas and shrimp diavlo. On this visit I was disappointed to learn that I could not order tamales a la carte at lunch. I wanted a bowl of soup and tamales without the beans, rice and corn cake. The restaurant could not accommodate, so I ordered two tamales as part of the create your own combo and had them hold the sides. I was informed that they would charge me the full price. I agreed.
The chicken tamales were not good at all. The masa was almost a half inch thick with negligible chicken. It was almost flavorless. I had a bite and sent it back. To their credit, I was not charged and the manager did stop by to offer me something else for lunch they could prepare quickly. I was pressed for time and declined. The chicken tortilla soup was good. I will be back but will not order the tamales again.
I usually have a great experience in Sinigual, but this last visit on 10/18, I invited a best friend of mine to dine with me. It was her first time and I wanted to treat her for a late bday dinner. The guacamole had too much lime so we didn't enjoy it, usually its delicious, the service was slow and it wasn't that crowed yet for Friday, they took awhile to bring my friends soar cream...by the time she received it she was a little over half way done with her meal.
My #1 pick for Mexican in Midtown East. The staff is friendly and food is delicious. I'm partial to the house margarita
A great higher end Mexican restaurant! Great food and drinks... and great service. Note that it is fairly quite compared to most NYC restaurants.
I had a very helpful sever. I requested a removal of food item and he placed a potential suspect item on the side. The sweet corn and tortillas were the smallest and best part of the meal.
It was a great place for a business lunch. The food was great, service was quick but not rushed and we could hold a conversation without yelling.
I would definitely go back.
I have been a customer at Sinigual for several years. I bring friends and suggested it to others.
I was there last week and asked them to seat me and my friend towards the back due to the noise level.
We were not attended until I asked several times. We had to ask for utensils. We asked for quacamole and they did not come back for our order.
I asked several people and finally Jeanette was nice enough to get me the manager who cleaned up the desk. His concern was more on his lack of staff and not the complaint. I told him I am a regular customer and the service is poor. His problems of being short staff are not my problem.
He smiled and keep repeating enjoy and relax. Poor management skills.
So we were not charge for the dessert.
Manager needs to be able to retain his clients without the excuses. We both were unsatisfied.
Everything was wonderful.
I met up with a friend, and it was his first time there. It was actually my fourth time, and it feels like I just can’t stay away. I wholly enjoy the meals, and the service is amazing.
Celebrating my bridesmaids for doing an awesome job participating in the most amazing day of my life.
Decor nice, very busy. Very expensive for what you got, drinks were extortionate, service was quite slow, probably wouldn't go back.
Thank you so much Armando for the lovely lunch.
You are the Best.
Fine. Guacamole was good. The fajita salad was boring. Way too expensive for what you get
Good not Great:
Server was delightful and the food runners attentive and polite. The ambiance was very nice, not too loud. Unfortunately the food was just okay. The street corn was boring, stay away from it.
i kind of hoped for tortillas with my carnitas and my guest also expected them -
It would be good if you could provide tortillas or offer them at least
Armando was a great waiter! And the food was delicious
Really good Mexican fare in a cozy relaxed environment. Priced well for personal or corporate lunches.
The customer service is comfortable for us.
The food had no real flavor. The guacamole was lacking robust flavor such as lime/lemon, salt, cilantro, onions...all things that make Guac amazing. The chicken tacos had no flavor...it was very lackluster. The service and ambiance were good. Honestly, it would be better to go to blockheads for tacos.
This is a nice restaurant with good food. Will definitely be back.
Had lunch. No salsa/chips brought to table while we waited for the food. I had the chicken fajita which was ok but very small portion for the price.
The service was awful. We had to keep asking for our server. Waiting a long time to get a drink order in and also then dinner. And then, the wrong meal was served and the waiter questioned us when we pointed out that a salad was served and not the enchilada that was ordered. As if we did not know what was ordered. I doubt I will go back.
