Sinigual - NY

I usually have a great experience in Sinigual, but this last visit on 10/18, I invited a best friend of mine to dine with me. It was her first time and I wanted to treat her for a late bday dinner. The guacamole had too much lime so we didn't enjoy it, usually its delicious, the service was slow and it wasn't that crowed yet for Friday, they took awhile to bring my friends soar cream...by the time she received it she was a little over half way done with her meal.
My #1 pick for Mexican in Midtown East. The staff is friendly and food is delicious. I'm partial to the house margarita
A great higher end Mexican restaurant! Great food and drinks... and great service. Note that it is fairly quite compared to most NYC restaurants.
I had a very helpful sever. I requested a removal of food item and he placed a potential suspect item on the side. The sweet corn and tortillas were the smallest and best part of the meal.
It was a great place for a business lunch. The food was great, service was quick but not rushed and we could hold a conversation without yelling.
I would definitely go back.
I have been a customer at Sinigual for several years. I bring friends and suggested it to others.
I was there last week and asked them to seat me and my friend towards the back due to the noise level.
We were not attended until I asked several times. We had to ask for utensils. We asked for quacamole and they did not come back for our order.
I asked several people and finally Jeanette was nice enough to get me the manager who cleaned up the desk. His concern was more on his lack of staff and not the complaint. I told him I am a regular customer and the service is poor. His problems of being short staff are not my problem.
He smiled and keep repeating enjoy and relax. Poor management skills.
So we were not charge for the dessert.
Manager needs to be able to retain his clients without the excuses. We both were unsatisfied.
Everything was wonderful.
I met up with a friend, and it was his first time there. It was actually my fourth time, and it feels like I just can’t stay away. I wholly enjoy the meals, and the service is amazing.
Celebrating my bridesmaids for doing an awesome job participating in the most amazing day of my life.
Decor nice, very busy. Very expensive for what you got, drinks were extortionate, service was quite slow, probably wouldn't go back.
Thank you so much Armando for the lovely lunch.
You are the Best.
Fine. Guacamole was good. The fajita salad was boring. Way too expensive for what you get
Good not Great:
Server was delightful and the food runners attentive and polite. The ambiance was very nice, not too loud. Unfortunately the food was just okay. The street corn was boring, stay away from it.
i kind of hoped for tortillas with my carnitas and my guest also expected them -
It would be good if you could provide tortillas or offer them at least
Armando was a great waiter! And the food was delicious
Really good Mexican fare in a cozy relaxed environment. Priced well for personal or corporate lunches.
The customer service is comfortable for us.
The food had no real flavor. The guacamole was lacking robust flavor such as lime/lemon, salt, cilantro, onions...all things that make Guac amazing. The chicken tacos had no flavor...it was very lackluster. The service and ambiance were good. Honestly, it would be better to go to blockheads for tacos.
This is a nice restaurant with good food. Will definitely be back.
Had lunch. No salsa/chips brought to table while we waited for the food. I had the chicken fajita which was ok but very small portion for the price.
The service was awful. We had to keep asking for our server. Waiting a long time to get a drink order in and also then dinner. And then, the wrong meal was served and the waiter questioned us when we pointed out that a salad was served and not the enchilada that was ordered. As if we did not know what was ordered. I doubt I will go back.
Met friend for birthday dinner. Reservation was made on open table, and not located when I got there. They sat me down, and I told him the name and description of my guest. My guest had arrived half an hour before, was seated separately, and we did not connect for 40 minutes. UGG. Good Happy Hour selections and pricing. Noise level higher than I would’ve liked. Overall a perfectly OK evening with off service.
Sinigual has a very fun, eclectic atmosphere and the food was DELICIOUS! We had the steak nachos as well as the tableside guacamole as appetizers, both great. We had tacos and enchiladas as main dishes, loved the cilantro rice! Finally, the flan creme brulee for dessert was something I'd never seen before and was SO GOOD!
Went with two colleagues to celebrate someone’s birthday. The guacamole was delicious and the the dishes we ordered as well, should have probably shared the fajitas platter though, there was plenty. Didn’t have any drinks but can’t wait to go back during happy hour for a classic margarita. Service was excellent and making a reservation was a breeze through the OpenTable app.
Would not recommend eating here. New York City prices for sub par microwaveable food.
The best part was the service. Our waiter Alonzo was the absolute best!
Everything was amazing...!! Thank you
Boring midtown place , didn’t think much of any of it but guacamole was good, chips were not.
Perfect for business lunch. Can get a bit noisy but food delicious and service very good so you can get in and out quickly
Bad service, food was ok , we had a previous fair experience but this one proves us that it’s not a very good restaurant !
I've been to Sinigual several times and have always enjoyed the ambiance and the food especially the crepas de cajeta however this time the crepes were cold and the plantains weren't fully cooked. My friend had the fried ice cream and couldn't stop raving about it. Overall we had a great time.
Sinigual is probably my favorite Mexican restaurant in NY. The service is exceptional, and makes up for any small lapses in food quality, such as an underdone tortilla or a not-quite-spicy-enough table side guacamole. The staff is friendly and pleasant without being overly so, and very responsive to diners' needs. Overall, the food is delicious, and keeps me coming back.
Armando gave us amazing service and the food was delicious as always. Highly recommend this place! Not one bad thing on the menu!
The food wasn’t great
The menu changed since last visit, not for the better. Food was mediocre, a step above Chi-chi's for those who can remember. Service was OK. Points for ambiance.
Excellent , great food
There are too many much better Mexican restaurants in NYC. This one was good if you're new to the cuisine (my wife is Mexican and a phenomenal cook.) It was VERY noisy. The waitstaff was friendly, but did not get our appetizer order right, and I wrote that off for them being fairly busy.
Do not recommend the restaurant for business meetings. Social, if you're younger, is OK. Price is normal for that area, but for the quality of food, expensive.
This wasn't my first visit to Sinigual and I am happy to say that the quality of the food and the service level was quite good. Drinks are a little pricey but I had a delicious margarita. The fajita combo's were delicious and I highly recommend for two.
Just so-so food that was served luke warm. They add a 4% surcharge(it’s printed on the menu on every page—so no surprise) because of an increase in “local, state and federal” taxes. Love NYC dining but taxes like these turn me off. Just build the cost of the food into the state
cost on the menu. Seems like a tricky way to make the cost per dish/drink look less than it is. Won’t go back.
Great food, nice waiter, good guacamole! My virgin mojito eh! Great time!!
