A classic British Afternoon Tea, available Monday to Sunday, 2:30pm - 3:45 pm. Please note that card details are required to secure your booking but will not be charged apart from in the event of no-shows in which case we reserve the right to charge £10 per person. Payment will be taken for your afternoon tea when you visit us. Please make us aware of any dietary requirements at least 48 hours prior to your afternoon tea bookings. Optional prosecco upgrades can be booked during the reservation process.

A lovely setting in a lovely place on the river. Celebrated a special birthday. Delicious food a bit expensive £45 beef dish and £34 for chicken. Would like to see staff wearing a uniform though as everyone wearing their own clothes. Even just the top the same would know who the staff were then with a name badge.

This is a nice restaurant . The food is freshly prepared and the staff friendly . We had the bar tapas to start as we’re quite hungry ! My partner then enjoyed his pork starter and pork main course . Being a veggie I had the tomato based gazpacho with was fine , could have benefited for a touch more flavour and I thought it was in the thin side . I then had the aubergine schnitzel echo I thought was in the soggie side rather than the nice crust crunch coating I was expecting which was a shame . I did feed it back to our waiter when he came at the end of our meal to ask how it was .

I thought the food was really good, served in a very reasonable time. Only had 2 slight gripes, I messaged the restaurant telling them we were celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary, which I was told it be made a note of on the booking, but we received no acknowledgement of it during our visit. Also, a service charge of 13.5% is automatically added to the bill, which I don’t like at all. I leave my own tips at my discretion. In fairness they make it clear you can change this amount if you wish, which I did.

It was such a good experience! We arrived at The Folly about 20-30 minutes before they offered their afternoon tea service, and after we realized we got the bread board which was fantastic. By the time we were done with the bread board it was time for tea, our waitress took our tea requests and within probably 5-6 minutes our tea was made and given to us. And about 10 minutes later we were served our food that comes with the tea, it came with all the usual food that comes with an afternoon tea. I am not a sandwich person soI didn't love the sandwiches however the rest of my table definitely did, the scones we hot with fresh cloted cream and small jars of jam. And lastly the dessert, I am not sure what everything was but the two out of the three things that I tried, two small not great things was that there was a small hair on one of the pastries but it was not a big deal and we just didn't eat that one, and towards the end of our stay we did not receive the greatest service, and that wasn't even a big deal because we did enjoy our time there. But overall everything tasted fresh and delicious, the ambiance was nice and charming, and I hope that the next time I come to Oxford I can have a cup of tea and some delicious food at The Folly!

Had a business meeting for lunch and enjoyed very much dining by the riverside. Would strongly recommend for small groups as it is quiet

I love coming to the Folly, everyone is so nice, the room is quite beautiful and the food is excellent and interesting. I would come more often if it was a bit less expensive. :). Thank you.

Expensive yes, but worth it. The Folly is a unique venue with wonderful food and outstanding service. For those special occasions we'd certainly recommend it.

Very delicious food, nice service. We ate inside and there was a loud party and we could barely hear our own group, but other than this, it was a very nice meal.

Restaurant is in a lovely location on the riverfront. Pleasant atmosphere and great menu A little pricey for some items but food was very good. Would visit again.
