We live close by. We are "regulars" and visit often. We've never had an unpleasant experience. Food and service are first rate. Can be a bit pricy for week night dining, but we think it's worth it.

We went for brunch on Fathers Day, the food was very good and our server Amy was a delight. I asked if my order could be made spicy and that was not a problem. We will be returning Poplar Springs Manor House again.

The service was outstanding. The manager was off on Saturday. We arrived got seated. The waiter was great but they were out of too many items by 7pm on Saturday night. The kitchen took over 45 minutes to get our items out to the table. I requested to speak with the manager on duty she never came by. Even when she dropped off the appetizer she did not say hello. The waiter said she was the manager on duty. It was recently sold to another owner. So disappointed!

Went for a birthday and did the tasting menu without the wine pairings. Food was great and our waiter, Jonah, was fantastic. We were stuffed and wanted to take dessert home. Since Creme Brûlée doesn’t travel well, Jonah offered to substitute the dessert for something from the regular menu that could go home. Ordered a nice red from the menu and let it breathe while we had our first 2 courses. A wonderful evening overall!

I was very impressed with the Manor House Restaurant as well as the Poplar Springs Inn in which it sits. I definitely will be back since I feel the property will be most beautiful in Fall and Winter time.

We decided to celebrate our 40th at the Manor House Restaurant...recommended by a friend soon to be married at the Inn. After looking at menu on Open Table, I made a reservation. A few days before our reservation, my wife read the menu on their web site. Noting substantial differences, I called the restaurant to ask which menu was correct. I was told that the Open Table menu was most likely the current menu. Wrong! Open table menu out, web site menu in. This needs to be fixed. The 90 minute drive was easy, this is a country property. If you go at night, bring a flashlight! I had to use my iPhone flashlight when we left to navigate my way to our car. Exterior lighting is sub-standard, dangerously sub-standard. The restaurant...a beautiful building, nearly 100 years old, beautifully and tastefully restored. The main dining room, a central great room with a large fireplace, beautiful hardwood floors, and tasteful neutral decorations, is comfortable. Our waiter, Bradley, a gem. He had a great sense of humor, was helpful and accommodating. He made our dinner a fun experience, a natural without pretension. The food...the menu choices are not complex, we decided to keep it simple on our first visit, “test the waters”. Smoked salmon app, my wife loved it. Nicely plated. Baked Brie, I loved it. Also nicely plated. Needs twice the bread, chef. I had to ask for more bread! The Porchetta was tasty, the entree fattier than my wife expected, a third was not edible. The colorful cauliflower was nicely done. The Filet was nicely prepared, perfectly cooked, wonderfully flavored...I enjoyed every bite. It was accompanied by a baked tomato and polenta. We ended our meal with a shared creme brûlée and coffees. It was somewhat soupy, it wasn’t great, but not “bad”, either. We had a nice time. Based on this, our first visit, we will go back. It’s a remote and charming place.

Food was awesome. Service was HORRIBLE. Ordered a bottle of wine and had to ask twice for it. Finally came after 20 minutes. My husband and I sat there for 2.5 hours because the service was a disaster. The waiter kept apologizing for his lack of attention to us. It was also a milestone b'day for me. My husband called that day to ask if something special could be done and was assured it would be taken care of. Not one mention of my b'day from anyone. With all the wonderful restaurants to chose from, I would chose not to return to this one again.

Beautiful restaurant in historic stone manor house. Grounds were peaceful and beautiful. Great place to celebrate special occasion, they provided a glass of complimentary champagne for our anniversary The food was excellent. I got the beet salad and lamb chops. Meals average $40/$50 pp. "Proper attire required" sign warns guests. Suit jackets not required but most men had them on. Worth experiencing at least once!

It's our "neighborhood" restaurant. We visit often and have never been disappointed.

I was disappointed that I was unable to add one additional guest for my desired time on the same date. Open Table would not accommodate and tried to give us a much later reservation time. To my surprise, the restaurant was not crowded, and our additional guest could have been easily included. I won't use Open Table for this restaurant again for this reason!
