   Went for dinner and then, based on that, returned the next day for lunch. I was visiting Columbus. Great, fresh ingredients, creative combinations and pretty plating. Wine list offers multiple sizes which is great for tastings and the list is extensive by glass as well as by bottle. The sommelier made excellent suggestions for each course. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting Columbus (or living there).

   This is one of our favorites whenever we are visiting in Columbus. It is located across from Springer Theater. Parking is on the street and is often difficult to find an open space. The service and the food were both superb. My wife had the lamb and I had the scallops. You can't go wrong with either choice. While the menu doesn't designate gluten-free, the server and kitchen were knowledgeable and will find something that works for you. We'll be back. We highly recommend that you give it a try. -UPDATED Nov 2018: Unfortunately, this restaurant is now closed.

   We started with a wonderful flatbread with steak and bleu cheese. I had the duck (I switched sweet potato mash for risotto, which is excellent here) and husband had andouille encrusted chicken with pasta in a Cajun cream sauce. Both meals were top drawer. The atmosphere is fine dining without being fussy. Our waiter, Johnny, was very attentive and professional and we had a nice exchange with the owner and sommelier, Faye, about the lovely Chiaretto (Rose') that we were pleased to find on the extensive wine list. Whether for date night, pre-play dinner, or party Meritage has never disappointed us. We hear Faye is going to have to relocate. Where ever Meritage goes, we will follow

   Delicious filet and pasta. Exceptional beet salad. Scallops and chopped salad are favorites. Big group at restaurant, but didn’t deter good service.

   The staff was the friendliest I have encountered in a looooooong while and the food was fantastic. Johnny recommended that I amend my menu choices and he did not disappoint. I’ll definitely go back when I’m in town.

   Enjoyed the evening dining. When I called and stated we were running early, the gentleman on the phone shared our table was reserved, when we arrived asked which table did we want. The statement did not go with what was said on the phone. Our server,Johnny was wonderful, professional and caring. Our starter was Jumbo Shrimp,simply delicious. Our Entrees , Rack of Lamb and Seafood RIOSIOTO was so tasty. Missed having more bread and sauce, great ...could eat the bread with a cup of coffee. The Restaurant climate was most inviting,plan to return real soon.

   We just needed a night out and chose Meritage. We went early (6:15 p.m.) and there was NO crowd...just too early. The service was good, the food delicious - creatively conceived, well presented, and perfectly prepared. The crab en croute appetizer was astounding. My bride had andouille encrusted chicken which she loved and my filet au poivre vert was delightful. Our sommelier chose the perfect wines to accompany both. I'm sure my cardiologist was not happy I had a steak on fettuccine with Alfredo sauce, but my mouth and stomach out-voted him. So sorry Meritage has lost their lease and needs to relocate. We'll follow them wherever they go.
