   The absolutely best restaurant we've ever eaten at. It was our third time there and each time has been better than the previous which shouldn't be possible (it has also gained one Michelin star since our first time so apparently others agree). The food is amazing, the staff is excellent and the atmosphere is wonderful. I can't recommend it enough. Go there!

   Good food and ambience but the service got progressively worse as the dinner progressed and ended with the waitress overcharging me for the taxi I asked her to call for me. Definitely a let down in terms of service for such a high end establishment.

   Our sincerest apology. We have a policy of over-charging an extra 30RMB if calling a car with DIDI because most of the time the driver will not finish the trip or takes a detour resulting in the estimated fee to be lower than usual. We're very sorry that our waitress may have not communicated clearly enough with you beforehand. We're repenting on our mistakes and hope that you're willing to give us another chance to make up for the let down. Thank you for your time and for choosing King's Joy!

   King's Joy utterly blew me away. The attention to detail in both the food and the atmosphere was impressive. At 9pm the lights were turned off and we dined by candlelight as part of their sustainable ethos. We opted for the 14-course seasonal tasting menu. Each intricate and exquisite morsel was presented with flair and the health benefits were explained. I particularity enjoyed trying so many native plants which I had not even heard of before, let alone tried. The fact that everything was organic was also a delight. The menu was mostly vegan and they were happy to make a few changes to make it fully vegan for me. This is a truly special restaurant fit for a celebration. Yes, the price is high (899RMB for the mid-range menu we had) but this is a top class restaurant which is worthy of the many accolades it has received.

   We went to King's Joy for my wife birthday and we had a unforgettable moment. The place itself it wonderful and there is a harpist playing. We took the 14 dish menu: it was outstanding! The menu makes you discover many different kinds of food, all excellent and well-matched. The service is also excellent, they prepared a special Chinese birthday meal for my wife and got her a small present. Thank you again for our wonderful evening!

   King's Joy is a must-visit restaurant for vegetarians and those wanting to experience vegetarian cuisine. The food was amazing, and it was such a joy to have vegetarian dishes that tasted like traditional Chinese dishes. The experience included organic and unique produce. The ambience was very romantic and the harp player made for perfect background music. Staff were very friendly, speaking both Chinese and English, and went above and beyond to make the night special.

   Good service, impressive experience, good presentation. Another dimension. I am not a vegetarian, but they brought vegetables to another level. Eyes opener !! Pricey.

   Incredible food, service and ambience! Set menus and very good value for money. Harpist playing throughout tops off a fantastic place for dinner. I recommend trying the Chinese wine!

   One of the best restaurants I have ever been. Flavoursome food presented in very stylish fashion. Both form and substance are excellent. What an experience.

   King's Joy was definitely a disappointment. Rather than being a thoughtful exploration of vegetarian food, most courses were very similar in terms of texture and taste, albeit prettily presented. Everything could have used a pinch of salt. Exceptions were the fried rice course, which had very balanced flavours and the tripe course -- although the "basil sauce" was stuck to the plate which implied to me the plate was pre-sauced a few hours in advance. I also felt it was WAY overpriced. As my "celebration" meal at the end of a long journey, it definitely didn't live up to my expectations.

    I have been to many fancy restaurants but this restaurant sticks out as being one of the very few that I’m still reeling from more than 24 hours later! The service, pace of the dinner and experience were impeccable and set the bar! Thank you for having us as guests! :)
