A strange start to our visit, only 2 people inside and we were shown to a table beside the toilets; as I had booked a table, not just a walk in, I found this a bit thoughtless. Settled at a table of our choice, where we received good service from Anya. Drinks + food order taken quickly We didn't have to wait long and food was very good. Table check was done, so all good. We requested the bill when our coffees were delivered, about 15 minutes later and still no sign of it. Went up to the bar, no staff (as a couple were waiting to be seated) In fact, not one single member of staff on the floor at all. Very surprised, as I haven't seen this before on previous visits. Never good having to chase to pay your bill. Despite this hiccup, I would still recommend.

Good variety of vegetables. We had Sunday Roast - one beef, one pork, one turkey. Turkey was very good. Would have preferred the beef a little rarer but it was later in the day so not easy to keep pink. Loved the small chocolate torte with raspberry dessert and coffee.

I asked for a quiet spot and were put in the bar, this was fine and quiet, however the seating was discusting, all the leather on the long leather seat was missing. I had gammon and chips, the gammon was very much over cooked in fact hard and tasteless, the chips were ok but it came with 1 small mushroom ans a half a tomato,. My son in laws parents and my wife ‘s meal was not too bad, except for the fish n chips which were were much over fried and dry, I wanted to complain but I didn’t want to be embarrass my son in laws parents. Sorry to complain but I think you should be told Regards Peter Bellion

The weather was lovely so though we’d booked a table inside we spoke to the greeter and it was fine for us to sit outside as we’d found an available table. We both had the special burger which was absolutely delicious. Well done chefs! The waiting in staff were excellent too. They were attentive but not in your face.
