We received a nice welcome and this made me hopeful of a good experience. Unfortunately this is where it went down hill. It took ages for our first plates to come out and they were like warm at best. The mac n cheese was like wallpaper paste with lumps in and the turkey was extremely dry. There was no cutlery on the table and we had to ask for it. Being am all you can eat, we ordered our 2nd plates and asked if certain items could be left off, like chips, corm bread etc as it would be wasted. Plates arrived and still loaded same as the 1st, all of this got wasted again. My chicken thigh had a red bloody vein inside and I was told it was the smoking process, I'm sorry but you're wrong, a pink/red smoke ring is good but not red veins! I was offered a free dessert to make up for it. I had a 3rd plate and the meat was hot and appeared fresher then the previous plates. Once again the chips etc ended up in the bin as they weren't going to be eaten which I did inform the waitress. There were very long-delays between plates coming out, they said they were busy but the restaurant wasn't full and it appeared other guests were getting fed up waiting too. The dessert, peach and apple crumble was the best part of my experience but not what I went for, I wanted bbq meat as per their Instagram page. The final straw was drawn when my partner went to pay and she paid £25 per person plus drinks, (mothers were free on Mother's day), When I booked the table, weeks ago, it was advertised at £20 per person and I had proof from a screenshot of the flyer. DJB did honour the £20 per person and returned our over payment of £10. Would we return, unfortunately not which is such a shame as we were all so looking forward to our meal.

First time we dined here the food was amazing so thought I'd bring the family along, this time around the food wasn't as good some of the parts were burnt it just wasn't the same. Seeing as the price was put up I would have expected it to be better

First of all the prices were more expensive than it states on the website, and secondly the bottomless bbq on the Sunday is a bit misleading as you don't get to choose what you want you just get a random tray of stuff that you have to finish if you want more. Food wasn't particularly great either but most of all I was disappointed with the misleading prices on the website, overall I think they need to fix the food quality and the prices on their website, the staff were friendly and service was acceptable

So was expecting a lot as I had heard reasonably good things, the starter came out ribs and chicken wings. Ribs tasted ok but was expecting it to fall off bone easier, but to be fair chicken wings were good. The main came out and to be honest I thought for £70 there may have been more, turkey was on the dry side, brisket was just as dry and thinly sliced. The star of the show was the pork belly and crackling pieces (was best bit of all) chips were as expected and sausage was middle of the road. Overall I give it 6.5/10. I am looking to go to Smoke and Co in Ramsgate next and I’m sure that’ll deliver what I had hoped DJB sadly couldn’t. I am not one for leaving a bad review but unfortunately (for me) just wasn’t all that.

I think DJB is still trying to find it's Identity. Is it a smoke house or a club? The room itself is all grey no decor and cheap tacky booths allong with the boom boom boom of base from upstairs kills what's left of any atmosphere. But then they send out quick, well presented tasty food at what I thought was good value. Had the valentine's meal menu stated Full rack and 6 wings to start. We got 3 ribs and 3 wings. But tasty non the less. Main the brisket was delicious and by far the stand out. Turkey was dry and the pork belly, chips, sausage, slaw finished the plate nice. Desert a combo of two was a night sweet to finish. I will return again look forward to seeing what DJB can do.

Initially disappointed at it was Chicken Wings only, but part of that fault could lie with me, though staff did say they need to get the info out better on apps like this. Staff were very helpful, food was lovely and we will be going back to try the full menu out!

Couldn’t sit under the table with your legs as there was a metal bar- chairs small and uncomfortable chicken dry- ribs dry - pork belly chewy - best part was the slaw
