   Have to say that the best thing about our experience on the day was the companions we were with and the parking. A very busy day in the village should probably not be a surprise for the management team when planning rotas. The level of service and standard of food that we received was extremely poor. Being desperately understaffed is obviously not the fault of the staff that were there who were doing there best but being reprimanded for asking where our drinks and the missing meal were probably didn't help improve our sinking opinion. I could go on but that would be boring and the point has been made.

   Unfortunately this evenings meal was not as we hoped and fell short in many ways. The outside of the building is superb set in lovely gardens but once inside the decor set the tone and the dining room was dark and opened late. We felt sorry for the staff who seemed inexperienced and nervous. We were given the wrong main meal and while not charged we were disappointed with the whole experience. Maybe a revamp of the interior, the crockery and other areas of the whole Inn plus training staff better might be encouraged. Hate to be negative but it truly was a weird experience.

   We had booked a table at 5pm. We arrived on time and were informed the kitchen closes 5, and reopen 6:30, so we had to hurry up and order. We had no idea about this. Staff were very stressed, and food was expensive.

   Beautiful location. Parking is difficult Food well presented and reasonably priced. Really enjoyed the experience and the view

   Lovely staff and food was fabulous - and the grounds are just gorgeous! Only wish is to eat outside! But they didn’t have enough staff for that!

   The Slaughters Country Inn is quintessential of the Cotswolds. Charming and beautiful inside and out. The food was exceptional and the staff were amazing.

   Had a lovely circular walk and lunch at the Slaughters Country Inn. We had booked a table inside but with the fab weather we asked to move outside which was no problem. Service was excellent, friendly and attentive despite being quite a busy place. Food was delicious. Would recommend.

   Beautiful Inn in the Cotswolds. Excellent service and food. Very dog friendly too. We had a very enjoyable afternoon with friends in a beautiful setting. Highly recommend.

    Not my first time but my last, food was cold and very small portions of meat. Service was slow felt like an inconvenience not a guest. No one on desk at arrival no table prepared. Waited 6 minutes for a menu another 10 for or order to be taken. Drinks l lost count. Meal was warm not hot portion of meat were clearly designed for profit overall meal was very disappointing. Service was very poor clearly not staffed properly. Only positive a lady that served the desert was the first time we were treated with the respect a guest deserves.
