Had a booking for the restaurant but got a table at the bar. Was loud and noisy. Also small for 3 adults and a toddler in a highchair. During ordering not mentioned that kitchen run out of a side for the roast dinner. Food arrived quick. Plate was hot but food was cold. Once finished had to wait a lot to clean the table. Had not been approached to ask if we need anything or want to order more drinks. Was looking for a nice roast experience and was very disappointed.

A wonderful evening . We dined Alfresco as it was a warm evening . Service was excellent with questions answered promptly and recommendations given where appropriate. A great selection of choices on the menu and some excellent wines to accompany. The food was very good and reasonably priced . Recommended 👍😎👌

Went for Fathers Day. Pub was busy as we expected. We were booked in at 6pm. Main courses took a long time to arrive and did not all arrive together. Food was very good, although I would have preferred my beef a slightly less pink. Desserts were quite pricy. I had Eton Mess which was disappointing as it only had a small amount of red currant coulis and meringue. It was tasty but looked like it was thrown together as the last order of the day.

My honest review comes following a visit on fathers day. First inpression was great. Friendly warm welcome from the chatty staff. Were shown to a table. Took a while for the menus to arrive. Ordered the special starters. They were very nice. The main was visually appealing (beef roast) but disappointing as luke warm and alrhough the beef was pink ot was tough and difficult to chew. The spring veg were mixed together with the peas. We love peas but not the spring veg so may have been better to keep seperate. We had to ask for more gravy as there was very little on the plate. 2 arrived with stuffing and 2 arrived with roast parsnip. Not sure why they were different. We ordered dessert. These sounded amazing but were a complete let down. The Eton Mess was just a bowl of cream with a scoop of ice cream, a teaspoon of berry compote and a sprinkle of meringue. The crumble was watery- basically a pot of stewed fruit with a dusting of crumb. You couldn't call it a crumble. Such a shame as we were recommended this establishment but we wouldn't hurry back as the food did not live up to expectations sadly. The service was incredibly slow but the staff were friendly enough so bo issues there.

Nice Fathers' day lunch. Excellent roast with great service. Sadly, they had run out of vanilla ice cream so we were unable to have the pudding we ordered. The only real ales available were Timothy Taylor Landlords and Boltmaker which was disappointing. Jeremy Clarkson’s new beer was advertised but wasn’t available. Overall a good experience. I shall continue to recommend the Saracen’s Head.
