We had Moses as our waiter and he was absolutely wonderful! Took care of everything perfectly, was attentive, made sure to explain anything about what we ordered and made us feel extra special as first time diners. We’d love to come back, and can’t wait to dine with him again. Please, let him know how much we enjoyed our dining experience with him as the customer service was exemplary. It is truly hard to find in the world we live in today. Thank you, again.

The atmosphere effortlessly balances upscale elegance with a vibrant, modern energy. But what truly elevated the night was the outstanding service — a special shoutout to Rachel B, our server, whose warm demeanor, attention to detail, and menu recommendations made the experience seamless and memorable. She guided us through the evening with genuine enthusiasm and professionalism. Julia, who was replenishing water and clearing our table, also deserves high praise — she was incredibly attentive and efficient, always present without being intrusive. It’s rare to find such coordinated service. The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Appetizers: •The Great White — fresh, clean, and packed with flavor, a perfect light start. •Oxtail Pot Stickers — savory, tender, and richly satisfying; they’re a must-try. •Truffle Tuna Pizza — decadent and delicate at once; the earthy truffle with the buttery tuna was divine. Sushi Mains: •Spicy Tuna and Spicy Salmon rolls hit all the right notes — classic, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. •Red Dragon — a beautiful presentation with an even better flavor profile; bold yet refined. •Tail of Two Tunas — a standout dish, layered with textures and a harmony of spice, richness, and freshness. Whether you’re a sushi lover or just looking for a dynamic and memorable dining experience, Sunda is an absolute gem in River North. We’ll definitely be returning — and hoping to be seated in Rachel’s section again!

Way to expensive for what you got. Liked the food, but didn’t love anything. With the prices, everything should have been great. Overall, was unimpressed and would not go back.

So sad as this is typically one of our favorite restaurants. We travel to Chicago every year to see our son at Notre Dame. We always make it a point to eat at Sunda as their food is cutting edge and amazing. Our experience ce this weekend was subpar. We ordered one of our favorite rolls and my son cut the room of his mouth on a piece of lobster shell. The waiter took the shell piece and said he would notify the head chef and manager. They swiftly came with our bill and never said anything about it- no apology or comp dish etc. Really terrible service. We will think twice about coming back.

It’s noisy in the restaurant and the server seemed very annoyed that she couldn’t hear us and then just seemed all around annoyed, made us uncomfortable

For our first Asian/Japanese food experience in Chicago, Sunda was amazing. Food, atmosphere and decor were great. Thoroughly recommend it!
