Although the staff were friendly we felt our experience at the Red Lion was far less than we expected. We ordered drinks and were told these would be delivered to our table. After 20 mins we had to return to the bar to find they were still there and the bar person was serving other people. We waited another 20 mins and had to ask if someone would come to take the order for our food. We felt when the food came it wasn’t the quality we expected and was overpriced for what we got.

Service was very prompt and friendly despite being very busy. Lots of choice on the menu and prices are fair. I had chicken schnitzel and Caesar salad with some delicious fries as a side, it was all very hot and good. For dessert I had the two sorbets, both excellent. Dog friendly place. The bill with 2 beers was £33 including service, excellent value. I would definitely go again.

Lovely meal, we were a large party of 10 on a busy Saturday night. Food arrived altogether and hot, waited a while but was well worth it.

Food quality poor, white bate was over cooked and a small portion. Fish was over cooked with batter over powering the flavour of the fish. Ham egg and chips was good.

Had a fish dish and a burger. Just not as good as it was a year ago when it was outstanding. Bit disappointed with the food. Fish was dull and the asparagus was a bit cold - the tomatoes were the best bit. The burger was plain and the bun was cheap and nasty. No one asked us if we were happy with the food. The cheese board wasn't value for money - never had such a small board. The sorbet and ice cream were great but that's not what you want to say about a £90 meal. The service was friendly enough but we had to wait a long time for our mains and I couldn't have told you our server's names. This is standard practice elsewhere. What a shame as it really had been great last year plus my mum has booked for her 90th and I'm not confident she'll be satisfied.

Disappointing. We’ve stayed here in the rooms before and the food was great and good value. Now basic and overpriced, with bland presentation. Stifkey campsite was heaving so we had booked a table. At 7:45pm on a Saturday the pub was practically empty. Small portion of veg lasagne, a few salad leaves and microwave garlic bread was £20. Pork burgers ok but served with chips and a thimble of ‘bourbon slaw’ (what was the point?) Good quality ham, egg and chips. Staff seemed a little lack luster (maybe they had had a busy day). Sadly, we wouldn’t bother going back :(
