I was wondering if I would be given a chance to respond to our special MET dinner last night. I have been dining at the MET Dining Room for at least 20 years, my experience has always been a good one…but like any long term dining experience some visits were better than others, but generally they we’re all quite acceptable and at times great. Last nights Special Dinner, I am sad to say ranked with the worst dinners that I have ever had…the food was really worthless and tasteless. While the service was good and our server Grace was sweet, the multi course tasting menu was virtually inedible, I had less than 1/2 bite of the nearly rare Lamb Chop, and that was more than enough, most of the courses were indistinguishable from one another and tasteless, it was all like a cheap buffet at some kind of basic event. There was live music ( which I enjoyed) but it seemed to have nothing to do with the celebration of the New Rockefeller wing.

A nice spot at the Metropolitan Museum with a giant slanted window with views of the park. Minimal Vegetarian/Vegan options.

The carrot ginger soup had a nice texture but tasted like neither, the dominant flavor being that of cooking oil. The chicken paillard tasted like “grill”, not chicken. At least half of it was too tough to cut. The Cabernet wine was nice and our waitress was lovely.
