Chef Art Wirtz loves serving amazing food created with great care, and a little whimsy. He utilizes fresh, local ingredients to bring the best of each season to the table to create High Altitude California Cuisine. Menus change with the seasons and the availability of local ingredients.

Acting as a backdrop to Chef Art's food is the architectural majesty of the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Wigwam Room. The central fireplace rising into the soaring ceiling creates an impression as powerful as the mountain range surrounding the room. In summer months, the Sky Deck offers a casual, outdoor alternative with stunning views from every vantage.

    Dinner was a wonderful event. Great food, great venue, great service. The restaurant was closed for breakfast. There were no notices and we were not given information on where breakfast was actually being served.

    2nd time here. Excellent food and service, nice view. Building is designed by Frank lloyd Wright. I had the rack of elk special. Will return when in the area.

    Incredible setting and building. Wigwam Room is like nothing anywhere else. The ravioli and fish tacos were very good. Well worth the drive

    This is a bit of a drive to get to, but in the end it wasn't worth it and disappointing. The restaurant wasn't fully open and the choices were limited. They had to make substitutes because they were out of the ingredients.

    We were party of 6. 1 had the steak. Requested medium rare but they made medium. Sent back but still not medium rare. The steak was dry without much flavor. The ambiance is wonderful and our server Trish friendly and helpful.

    On the heels of our last visit, which was during this season's soft opening, we managed to show up on the second day of the regular season. The menu has been tuned up and expanded (although the salads are still a bit too busy), and the deserts are more interesting and better executed than one typically finds in a destination restaurant. Wine list is okay -- you'll find something you'll like -- but not quite as rocking as last year. That said, the meal itself was like something out of a Python sketch. The amazing Trisha was still short handed and busy training what staff she had that night, so drink orders took a while to show up and on occasion weren't quite right (my parents ended up sending theirs back); what was ordered as a cab sav showed up as a Sauvignon blanc, and when sent back staged a return (complete with entourage sporting an ice bucket) before the proper thing showed up. Our somewhat spread-thin server neglected to relay what was sold out, resulting in the "sorry, we're out of..." dance on both the appetizer and main courses. Topping it off, an electrical storm took out power in the area, resulting in our party finishing the meal surrounded by staff lighting the table with flashlights. It really could have been a nightmare meal, but thanks to Trish and her staff it was actually quite fun. tl;dr: Food is good, setting is great, wine list isn't horrible, and even when short handed and the weather gods are angry the service is with a smile. Given them another ten days and it will be great!

    Visited during what's effectively the soft opening for 2019, with everyone from the kitchen to the dining room staff trying to get their footing. Menu was more limited than it will be later in May, and the salads were overly busy (we both ended up intoning "Edit! Edit! Edit!"), but for basically having just opened for the season it was really quite good. Major thumbs up for ditching the tiny rations of bread for house-made chips and a strawberry-and-cilantro salsa. The dining room staff was phenomenal. Both Trisha and Peyton were amazing and kept their respective senses-of-humor while trying to get things dialed. While the food was good, the two of them truly made the dining experience :)
