North End restauranteur and Chef Anthony Caturano (Prezza) opened Tonno in June of 2016, in downtown Gloucester, the oldest and most historic seaport in the United States.

Tonno, which is Italian for ‘Tuna’, blends together some of Chef Caturano’s favorite culinary styles, rooted in coastal Italian cuisine and influenced by the rich New England waters nearby. Signature dishes like tuna tartare and half roasted chicken are offered alongside Italian classics such as Seafood Cioppino, and Tagliatelle Bolognese, with all pasta made fresh in house. Local oysters are always available, shucked to order.

The beverage program at Tonno consists of classic Italian cocktails, house infused spirits, and a selection of craft beers. From the vine, Tonno’s wine list boasts an impressive, curated list of around 150 wines, focusing on Italian and California varietals.

Private parties available upon request. Reservations for dinner strongly recommended.

    AMAZING FOOD AND SERVICE ... We had my sons Wedding Rehearsal Dinner there on August 18th. Working with Toni was effortless , she was attentive, accommodating ans so professional. I can honestly say I don't think there was an empty plate after each course! Drinks were perfection ... Can't wait to go back! Thank you Tonno!

    A really pleasant North Shore surprise: good fresh food, nice atmosphere, fun bar & accommodating serving staff. A really good night out & a great option north of Boston.

    My husband and I enjoyed a delicious meal at Tonno. He had some of the newly caught Tuna, and I had a large piece of beautiful swordfish. The drinks were excellent, and our server, Nicole, was outstanding! Recommend!

    Dinner with friends during St Peter’s Fiesta was delicious, service was excellent. The restaurant called to warn us about Fiesta Parking - which could take longer to find a spot. They would hold the reservation for 15 minutes past the time of reservation. Nice touch, to forewarn, so we got there early and saw the festival and were at the restaurant right on time!

    Worth the trip! Even from The Netherlands! The food is always fantastic, the ambiance great, service outstanding. Don't forget to take a box of the restaurant's wine glasses!
