The noise level was totally unacceptable. Our server forgot my drink but delivered others to the table. Friends ordered cheeseburgers I didn’t want cheese so I ordered a hamburger. Our server ASSUMED I wanted a plain hamburger with nothing on it. He said “ I thought you wanted a plain hamburger”, which I never said. I will not be going back for quite some time and only if we can dine outdoors. The noise level was horrible.

Service is always excellent. Renovated space was very nice. Cocktails were made by professional bartenders and very tasty. I especially liked their Manhattan. Escargot was perfect and served with a delicious bread for dunking. Their famous chicken was amazing-- portion so large we took 1/2 of it home. The salmon was cooked perfectly as asked for. It was a birthday celebration so they threw in a free dessert! It was a Wednesday night and the place was hopping. Recommend that folks make a reservation.

I invited a friend out for lunch on her birthday. The food was authentically French. The atmosphere was like a French bistro.

It was our first time back since the renovation. The place looks great, and the bar is a major improvement; there is now more space between the tables too. It doesn’t feel as cozy as the old one, but it still looks fantastic. The service was a little slow; we had to return our steak because it was overcooked. They don't take walk-ins, but don't need to, as the place was packed on a Monday night. Anyway, it has been one of our favorites in the past. We'll give it another try, but it doesn't leave a great first impression, to be honest. It will be interesting to see if they take walk-ins down the road. Bethesda has a competitive restaurant market, so we'll see if this chain restaurant changes its policies. The food was consistent, except for the overcooked steak, but they got it right the second time.

Although it’s part of a restaurant group vs. independent, it has all the French favorites. What I think makes this place better is the large portions, the beautifully renovated interior, lively atmosphere and friendly service. Our server Marianna was excellent. The only thing I’d suggest is playing more “French” music, even if it’s French dance music. Will definitely be back!

Noise level in reconstructed restaurant was deafening, making conversation almost impossible. It was so uncomfortable that we won't be back despite long patronage before renovation.

Renovated Mon Ami Gabi is more open, well-lit, and inviting inside. We got a round booth, and the noise level was quite tolerable. The trout and the deviled eggs were great. Service was great, too!

The food was overpriced and not high quality. The service was fair but not great.
