El First & Oak, ubicado dentro de la encantadora posada Mirabelle, ha sido renovado recientemente. El jefe de cocina, Steven Snook, ofrece una variedad de platillos pequeños y complejos, que remarcan el sabor y la delicadeza. The 3 Course Menu Experience at First & Oak offers our guests an opportunity to enjoy our cuisine in a slightly more approachable manner - fewer courses than our Chef's Tasting Menu, but more generous portions. Offering choices for each course, this menu captures the level of technique being employed by our kitchen team each and every day, and allows guests to engage with our service team to create a casual but elegant dining experience. The Chef's Tasting Menu is the signature dining experience at First & Oak - highlighting our most seasonal preparations, featuring produce from the farms in Santa Ynez Valley, seafood from off the California Coast and other local specialties. Chef Ivan Coronel and his team's level of execution and attention to detail is apparent in every dish, offering delicious menu options for each course, allowing guests to engage with the menu each night. Wine pairings are offered along with the Chef's Tasting Menu on a nightly basis. Advance notice on any dietary restrictions or preferences is always appreciated, in order for us to create exceptional menu options for each of our guests. Seating was weird - very close to other tables and very dark. It felt awkward trying to have a conversation. The wait between dishes was boringly long.

A perfect environment to share a meal with someone you love. We were celebrating 38 years of marriage by visiting the first stop on our honeymoon. Solvang has changed a great deal in 38 years and in this case for the better. We were very pleased with the 5 course offering. We each chose different course options and were able to try everything. We will be back!!!

We enjoyed the three course tasting menu for a birthday celebration. The food was amazing and the staff was very attentive. I especially loved the homemade bread and the cauliflower starter, as well as the wine pairing suggestions.

Delectable tasting menu. The cauliflower dish is particularly notable. Romantic and quaint setting. We will absolutely visit again!

What a shocking and terrible experience. We were celebrating a special birthday and were looking forward to having the 5 course menu. The hotel receptionist greeted us warmly and we were seated on the patio with our two dogs. Unfortunately, our experience went downhill from there. Our server, George, was cold and aloof from the start. We were barely on the second course when he suddenly started yelling at us in front of the other patrons that our dog barked at him. We didn’t hear our dog bark and we were startled by his loud and offensive behavior. Our dog is a medium sized Golden Retriever mix and is one of the sweetest, friendliest dogs who has never attacked anyone. Even if our dog had barked, he could have let us know calmly instead of making a scene. He didn’t apologize for his rudeness but instead continued to berate us. We could not believe what was happening and asked to speak to the manager. He said he was the manager and was in charge of the restaurant. At that point, our dinner was ruined and we decided to leave. We called the Mirabelle Inn which is where the restaurant is located and the person who answered said that George is a server not a manager. Not only did George lie to us, he also ruined our dinner celebration. We then walked over to Mad & Vin which is a beautiful restaurant in the Landsby hotel. We didn’t have a reservation but the staff warmly welcomed us including our dogs. We had a wonderful dinner and birthday celebration there, and we highly recommend this restaurant. We do not recommend First & Oak because of their cold, snooty and arrogant attitude. From the little we ate, the cauliflower was very good but the tuna crudo was bland. We visited several Santa Ynez establishments with our dogs on this trip including Sunstone, Roblar and Gainey wineries and had wonderful experiences at all these dog friendly places. First & Oak who claim to be dog friendly is the first place we had such an unpleasant experience and we will not be going back.

One of the best meals that I’ve ever had! The 5 course tasting menu was amazing and the wine pairing complemented it so well. The service was impeccable. Will definitely be back!
