Good decent homemade food. As a table of four we dined on steak and ale pie, cottage pie, scampi and gammon. All of our group were delighted with the portion size and the quality. In particular, the batter on the side order of onion rings was thin and crispy. The homemade chips were chunky and crispy. The flavours of the meat in both pies was just like own homemade. Lastly the vegetables with the cottage pie were each cooked to perfection. Great landlord, and two lovely ladies serving behind the bar and waiting on. Definitely recommend.

Lovely cosy pub with extremely friendly staff. They had run out of Neck Oil but that made me try a different beer, which was great. The food was impeccable and we will certainly be going back.

The food was better than last time we went for a meal. As 2 of our party are wheat intolerant the menu was rather restrictive for them. It was a shame that the chef couldn’t have been more adaptable especially as this was not a last minute booking or walk in .

Went for a Sunday Roast at 6.30pm, on the “Roast and Drink” offer advertised on the website. Staff seemed unaware of the offer, but said they would sort it out on the final bill. We ordered one beer and one soft drink. Two of the roasts on the menu were unavailable ( Beef and Chicken) which was disappointing. The roasts we did have ( pork and turkey ) were excellent. We were however disappointed to be told at the end that they could not discount the soft drink, so we’re being charged full price for this. If this was the case, we should have been informed when we ordered the drinks. A great experience with the food let down by poor customer experience, a shame.
