   Underwhelming and Rushed Experience We recently dined at The Ivy Winchester and left feeling rather underwhelmed. The experience felt both rushed and oddly delayed in parts. Shortly after placing our order, our starter, the salt and pepper squid, arrived at the table within minutes of ordering. While quick service can be appreciated, it felt unusually fast, a sentiment even our waiter agreed with. Ironically, our drinks only arrived after the starter was cleared. The main courses followed swiftly. The Seared Tuna was a highlight, beautifully cooked and complemented by crispy fried artichoke. However, the shellfish and rabbit paella was disappointing. Though the flavour and shellfish were commendable, the portion of rabbit was noticeably sparse for the price. When we raised this, the manager’s response, that it was a set portion, felt dismissive and didn’t justify the cost. Desserts were enjoyable and arrived without issue. Unfortunately, we were then left waiting over 15-20 minutes for our plates to be cleared, only managing to get the bill after prompting a member of staff. Overall, while there were some enjoyable elements, the rushed pacing, uneven service, and poor value on certain dishes made the experience feel lacklustre. A few refinements could make a big difference.

   A wonderful venue. Very pretty, elegant and comfortable. Very good food and excellent service. The Ivy in Winchester is particularly pleasing.

   This was a celebration lunch with my Australian cousin that hasn’t been to the UK for 30 years. Luke, our server, was excellent. The food and ambience was excellent too. The Ivy have made a few changes to the way they deal with allergies and this needs a bit of time to bed in. Hopefully they’ll find a safe and pragmatic way through it.

   I had the best time celebrating my 60th birthday. The staff were amazing the food was out of this world and the chocolate bomb was to die for. The only thing that let it down was my trip to the washroom.It looked lovely with beautiful roses on the ceiling then when you walked into the cubicle and shut the door ,the door was dirty and scratched, not what I was expecting. Saying that I will definitely return .

   Visited many times. Food always excellent. Sadly service very poor. Had to chase/ locate our wi e which was in a cooler far away from table. Ended up serving own wine the 3rd time. Table uncleared 30 minutes after eating so not time to order desert/coolffee as taxi booked. Table only cleared after paying bill. Probable so t visit again as plenty of other excellent restaurants nearby.

   The bottle of sparkling water was room temperature, not offered lemon or ice. The Prosecco was room temperature My shepherds pie was not hot, had to return it and had a replacement given to me, with new veg.

    Despite living an hour away, I always choose The Ivy in Winchester as the meeting point for Business meetings - of just meeting friends. It's always consistently good and the staff are always very professional, polite and helpful. The food is really good with plenty of choices.
