   I booked our table two months in advance and they sat us in a corner instead of the atrium. We could smell poo from the toilets whenever the door opened. The fish and chips were overpriced and did not taste fresh. Our server was smug and rarely checked on us. We will NOT be back!

   No blinds in the conservatory area so had to ask to be moved as sun directly in eyes. Inside much nicer but the food was not up to usual standard. To say we were disappointed is an understatement. We have been to you several times but after Sunday we will probably look elsewhere

   We loved the food and beverage in the unique atmosphere. Lovely day until they needed our table for another group. We understand booking yet they could have been smoother in asking us to relocate.

   the restaurant itself was fine, the food was ok, the gravy on the roast was very watery and oily, not normal gravy, puddings were fine, but the service was terrible we were constantly trying to get there attention for everything, not attentative at all, took ages to take our order, just had to keep waiting to ask for basics, not impressed

   Fairly dissappointed with the service: Booking request for an outside table wasn't honoured. Table we were given was unsuitable, we had to ask the waitress for another table. We arrived 10 mins early and were told the waitress wouldn't serve us drinks requiring us to go to the bar. The barman would not start a tab as he claimed he did not know which table we were sat at despite us showing him the table and despite us being the only ones at the tables at that time. As a guest, I should not need to know what table number I am sat at, the staff should know that. General attitude of staff was not very friendly and not very welcoming.

   The location of the restaurant is magnificent in regard to its proximity to the river and the setting sun. The staff were absolutely brilliant in regard their level of service and friendly disposition. The food was well presented and tasted fantastic. Great food, great service and we definitely recommend that anyone visiting Windsor books this restaurant.

   The decline in the quality of the Sunday roast is substantial, rendering it impossible for me to recommend the boatman. Previously known for generous portions, it now resembles a budget-oriented pub. The meat was not only excessively thin but also of poor quality, full of veins and fat content. Furthermore, the service was indifferent and unwelcoming. The apparent disinterest of the waitress detracted from the overall dining experience. Given the abundance of high-quality restaurants in Windsor, The Boatman is unfortunately best avoided.

    The ambience is lovely but the food was pretty poor, with masses of salad dumped randomly on every dish. Service mediocre. The only things to recommend this place are the proximity to the river and lovely views, and the accessibility to the railway station which make it a convenient place to meet up for out- of-town friends
