We cane for afternoon tea on Xmas eve. Processed ham, processed cheese slice and pickle and egg mayonnaise. This was followed by a selection of ‘iceland’ style frozen cakes. NO tea offered and had to ask. No tea selection like you usually get either. Opened crackers on the window ledge, a cane with a big burnt hole in the curtain from previous guests. Carpet under table covered with debris from a previous party. £15 a head for something we cld have bought from boots for £3. I am absolutely disgusted. This was a family get together that we have done for 7 years running. Never again! You have finally stopped us for good. Last year was bad but you made up for it when you asked us back for a complimentary afternoon tea. That is why we rebooked. This year was worse. Staff reasoning was also very bad. The excuses from management were appalling. I will be emailing in person seperately in response. This is just the start. How can anyone get such a simple meal so wrong. We will Not be returning or recommending you any more

Excellent food and fantastic service, but sadly it was very cold in the restaurant The disabled toilet was disgusting very very dirty as it was the week before when I visited, one of my friends actually mentioned it to a member of staff. Unfortunately the area is also used as a baby change room,I just hope that it is not used for babies very often as it is very unhygienic 😡

We arrived to find our table was not ready (bearing in mind there were lots of empty tables!), when we finally sat down we then had to wait again for around 10-15 minutes for our menus !! Being pescatarian there was not a lot of choice. The food I chose was nothing special and was quite sickly, I was unable to eat it. My partner chose a burger but was unable to finish it due to being so unpleasant to eat. The cost was low and the service was poor, we booked after the great reviews online but would not eat here again not would I recommend it to anyone else. A disappointing night ☹

We visited for afternoon tea and were impressed with the quality, freshness and choice of sandwiches, scones and cakes. Service was slow but that suited us as we were able to absorb the surroundings. Decor is good. Unfortunately, there was little in the way of atmosphere as there were very few other diners in the restaurant, however, we do intend going for dinner soon.

The food was amazing, but was very dark, and it's felt like it was a party bar rather than a restaurant.

Lovely food. Just a couple of pointers. We had the scallops which were perfectly cooked but it was a shame to waste the sauce a little bit of bread to mop up would have been great. Had the hanging kebab which was lovely however a little hard to eat - a side plate would have been handy. Other than that fantastic. Oh a mint with the bill would be good.

Excellent, pleasant and attentive service and welcome. Food very good, menu imaginative. Not many people there so not a lot of atmosphere but room and ambience were great. Only one criticism of food - the fish pie was served only with peas and could be improved by addition of more vegetables and a few chips.
