Nestled in the heart of the opulent World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Stirrups offers a sophisticated dining experience with all the polish and precision you’d expect from one of Central Florida’s most elite venues. The ambiance is undeniably impressive—elegant interiors, attentive staff, and a refined atmosphere that caters to both seasoned equestrians and discerning guests.
On a recent visit, the Chilean sea bass was, without question, the star of the evening. Expertly prepared with a delicate sear, perfectly flaky texture, and a nuanced balance of flavors, it rivaled the best I've had in major culinary capitals. The wine selection, though not overly adventurous, was well curated, and service throughout the evening was impeccable—professional, warm, and unhurried.
However, what begins as a promising fine dining experience is dulled somewhat by its excessive pricing. For two guests, with a shared appetizer, two entrées, a couple of glasses of wine, coffee, and a single dessert, the final bill tallied over $325 before gratuity. At that price point, one expects not just excellence—but memorability at every course and a true sense of value. Unfortunately, Stirrups doesn't quite deliver at that level. While the sea bass and service were excellent, the rest of the experience, though pleasant, didn’t justify such a steep cost.
In short: Stirrups shines in flavor and formality, but unless you're celebrating a special occasion or undeterred by premium pricing, there are better values to be found—even within Ocala’s evolving upscale dining scene.
